23 Beginning of the battle royale

A new day on the ship had a arrived like usual the participants were woken up by the speaker. Without trouble, Jiyu dressed himself in a white t-shirt black pants and black sneakers while putting Kori on his head. He was rather excited for the day that was coming. He liked the idea of fighting and becoming stronger so he wouldn't mind battle.

Making his way towards the stage where everything would happen he ran into his now friend Zack who greeted him. Small talk was happening between them just how they were feeling. If they were excited for the battle royale. If they were in good shape this day. While together they made their way towards the stage that seemed to have changed a lot since yesterday. Yesterday it was a normal looking stage that could be found on any decent yacht that would host performers. But now it was as if the Roman period had come here. A massive stage that seemed to be around 3 meters in the air.

Made out of stone it looked rather impressive. "wow" is all that was heard around them. No one would have expected this. But what Jiyu noticed the most were that there were all types of tables and seats around the stage. Even some TVs were placed at tables. It was as if some people would come to watch?

And he wasn't wrong when the chair master comes into the room he was followed by many figures. It was obvious they didn't belong to the same group since some people wore tattered clothes while others were walking in a nice suit. As Gon stood in front of the group of participants he spoke, "as you see there are many people behind me.

You all don't know this but they are hunters that could be considered quite good and some even top tier. I invited them all to see the next generation of Hunters so you all shouldn't worry about it too much. Just focus on winning this and becoming a hunter." That is all that Gon said before indicating they should go up onto the stage. Some people were standing their flabergasted and finally a single person got the courage to ask the question that were on most people's mind. "How do we get up?" asked a rather ordinary looking man.

The words Gon said were of no help to them. "Figure it out if you are not on the stage in 5 minutes you are disqualified from this round." Some people tried to jump high enough to land onto the stage.

Others were trying to run up the wall in hopes of making it. But Jiyu and Zack, however, took a hard but straight forward approach. They were climbing the stone wall.

With ease, they became the first persons to enter the stage. Closely followed by a weird looking old man one eye seemed to only look towards the right while the other only to the left. One would think he was a crazy old man but the speed at which he came onto the stage indicated he at least had some skill. After 5 minutes only 10 people where standing onto the stage.

The other six people had failed to make it in time and were automatically disqualified from this round. With only 10 people in the stage Gon spoke through a microphone, "as you see only ten of you have made it to the stage. As I've said yesterday it's easy to survive for 10 minutes on this stage without falling down and you pass. But there are some rules kill and you are disqualified from the exam for the next few years."

This what something never done before and some distaste was seen in some hunters faces that thought it only natural that one could kill each other. But Gon knew that these 10 all had the potential to become a decent hunter. He needed each decent hunter he could get so even if they didn't pass this time they could pass next year. The death of a lot of participants would prove to be a loss.

The reason that he invited all these hunters to come watch the last stage was also simple. He needed the people on the stage to become strong. And top tier hunters were needed for that. Gon hoped that some hunters would take interest in some of the candidates and take them as a disciple and teach them Nen.

Or maybe some of their techniques, after all, there were several groups or others may call them sects that operated in the world. It was not something that heavily focused upon but there were groups that focused on special techniques or martial arts.

With the participants waiting to start the battle Gon announced the beginning of the battle royale. 10 minutes remaining till new hunters would emerge. Each of the particpants where ready in their respective battle stances.

Like that it had begun, the last stage of the hunter exam.
