1 Chapter 1

L A I K E"

When you hear about people having superpowers, being able to become invisible, read minds, super strength, I didn't imagine it being like this, nothing like this. My powers aren't a gift, they're a curse, and of course, on top of all that, Apollo Knight is back in town.

You're probably wondering, who the hell is Apollo Knight, let me tell you, he is the most irritating guy I have ever met! The way he walks around school likes he owns the place, the way he thinks he can get any girl he wants. Yes, I despise the guy, truly, I would admit how attractive he was, but would never dare say it to his face.

A long time ago, I wished to be different, to stand out from the crowd, to be able to do things nobody else can, but at this moment in time, I couldn't regret it more. Sometimes I think it was that wish that landed me here, with him. And at other times, I put it down to luck or the lack of it in my case. Soulmates are suppose to be a wonderful gift, an opportunity to be with someone you were truly made for, but, in my case, it was very different. And of course I wont tell you about that now, that would ruin my story.

"Laike Ouelette, get your a*s down her right now!" My aunt yelled up the stairs, startling me awake. I groaned into my pillow and reluctantly stepped out of my extraordinarily comfortable bed. I sighed and rubbed my eyes with the back of my hand, before stumbling towards my wardrobe. When I first started High School, I really did care about what people thought of me. Ahh how naive I was back then. At this point, I just always dress in some jeans and t-shirt. You shouldn't care what people think, I tell myself that and I slowly convince myself to believe it.

Eventually, I actually managed to get downstairs in one piece without flopping onto the floor and passing out on the spot. My aunt was sitting on one of the stools on the breakfast bar, with her infamous scowl on her wrinkled face. "What took you so long?" She sneered, while buttering a piece of wholemeal bread with some manky old marmalade. "Eat, quickly, or I'll be late for my appointment at the spa with Heather" I internally groaned, her best friend  Heather, was so obnoxious. She was one of those people who had no filter, the type of person who will start talking absolute rubbish about someone, when they're in the same room.

I know what you're thinking, how the hell do you cope with her, and I'll tell you, I don't, I run away and hide somewhere until she leaves or until I muster up the courage to come out of hiding and be civil, to ultimately end up running and hiding again. Anyway, that's completely off topic. I just realized I was staring at the cereal boxes while lost in thought, must have looked pretty odd. I just grabbed the cheerios and poured them into the bowl, dry. Leave me alone, milk isnt my favourite beverage there is.

After a very silent breakfast and awkward car journey, I was faced with my high school. Or Hell Hole, as I affectionately nicknamed it. I sighed and started walking up the old cracked stone steps, the sky was a gloomy grey, definitely worsening my mood. Why couldn't it be sunshines and rainbows?

"Senior Year, here I come"
