1 <The Moon Tonight>
I had a best friend, her name was Moon. She had been my best friend since 1st Grade. We were like sisters, telling each other our own secrets, problems and even shared the same hobbies. She was the happiest girl I'd ever known.
But ever since that car accident which had taken away her parents' lives, she was acting differently. She's always depressed and wasn't able to attend school most of the time.
Instead of feeling sorry for her, our classmates bullied her for being an orphan and said that she was overreacting. That, of course, hurt her even more. I wish I had been brave enough to stand up for her but I wasn't. I was too scared to even look her into the eyes ever since she started to get bullied. I know it's wrong to be a bystander but I just didn't have enough courage to talk to her.

A letter came through the mail today, it was Moon who sent it, the letter was an invitation to her house this evening.
"Dear Star,
Please come to my house today! I want to tell you something in private.
With all the love from the bottom of my heart,
Moon"
I arrived at her house later that evening. It was late, I just finished dinner and was a little sleepy.
I knocked on the door.
No response.
I knocked again.
Still no response.
The door was originally unlocked but I figured it would be impolite to just storm into her house.
I knocked one last time.
No response.
I opened the door, it was dark. The halls were chilly, the air was freezing even though the air conditioner was off.
"Moon..?"
Still dead silence.
There wasn't anyone down stairs so I guessed she was upstairs in her bedroom.
For some reason my heart started racing, a wild thought came across my mind. All I could do was pray and hope it's not what I thought.
Her bedroom door was not locked. I gently opened the door.
"Moon...?"
Even though I had seen it coming, I still couldn't believe my eyes.
The girl that meant everything to me was just hanging there with her body as pale as snow and her face was violently bare,
Then I saw the note lying on the table next to her, I unfolded it with great care and as I started reading, I began to cry.
"Hey Star, I'm sorry but I'm going first.
You meant the world to me and it breaks my heart to leave you behind. You probably won't miss me and no one will, I'm just a waste of space anyway.
Forget me for good and also please forgive me,,, I guess I lost my battle. I will miss you <3"
I dropped the note and with teary eyes I burst out of the doors and ran out to the streets. I ran and ran for god knows how long. But finally, I stopped. Out of breath I kneeled down and that's when I realised I was in the middle of the road. People were screaming around me. The world was spinning, everything was blurry.
Suddenly, I heard a car honk. I turned to see a truck racing towards me.
...
I laid down on my pool of blood and noticed how beautiful the moon is tonight, at least I will be with her soon...right?
