Training

Payton POV

After we ate dinner and discussed business we all decided it was time to get some rest and start training first thing. I was going to teach the females how to fight and protect the children and jamie and Nathan were going to train the males. Nathan was also going to teach them new techniques they could use in a fight. We all went to our separate rooms as we had to get up extremely early and sleeping in the same room prevented that.

As I entered my room I collapsed straight onto the bed letting the softness of the pillows consume me. I must of fell asleep because I woke to my alarm blaring and daylight breaking over the horizon. I rushed into the bathroom to take a shower, after 20 minutes I was washed and dried and putting on my training outfit. After getting changed I rushed downstairs and out the door to the training grounds. The announcement was made last night by the alpha that everyone had to be up for 5 in the morning. Most of the females was not happy about this especially one.

As soon as I got to the grounds I could here a woman shouting, "who dares to call me out here this early in the morning, don't they know who I am ?" She shouted at no one in particular. I cleared my throat getting her attention, she spins on her heel and faces me, "and you are ?" I say as I give her a glare instantly recognising her. "I'm this packs future Luna, the alpha is my mate." She says smirking at me. I laugh aloud making her scowl. "Really, is that so? And what is the name of our future Luna." I say mockingly. "My name is Marissa." She shouts. I laugh even louder at her name.

She looks at me with disgust which only makes me laugh more. "Who are you ?" She spits as she glares at me. "I'm glad you asked." I say giving her a smirk. I take my place at the front of the group, I glance over at everyone. "I'm Payton lea conners, I am the Luna of the blood moon pack and there best warrior." I say out loud for everyone to hear. I hear a few gasps as I continue. "I am also the future Luna to this pack and the rightful mate to your alpha." I finish. Everyone looks at me shocked as they begin to cheer. "Finally we have a Luna." A few people shouted which made me smile. "No your not the Luna to this pack, I am, Jamie is my mate not yours." I laughed again not even humouring her with a response. She begins to run towards me as I moved out the way. "Everyone pay attention." I shout gaining all there attention as Marissa stumbles and falls to the floor.

I look at her on the floor and smirk. " Marissa seems to think she is your Luna and Jamie is her mate. I know this not to be true." I shout as I pull part of my top over my shoulder showing them Jamie's mark. "I bare his mark." I shout for everyone to hear as I glare at Marissa. "If you've got a problem with that, fight me for it." I shouted as I turned and looked at everyone. No one said anything all they did was smile, that was until Marissa opened her mouth. "He's mine." She growls as she stands up. "No he is not but you can fight me for the rights of Luna and his mate." I offer, smirking at her. She laughs "gladly il rip your head from your shoulders." She spits causing me to laugh. "To the death then." I say smirking at Marissa. She nods and takes her position as I take mine. "Everyone watch and pay attention there will be questions after." I say as I begin to glare at Marissa you can see the anger rolling off of her in waves and this is how I know she is going to lose. She runs towards me lifting her arm to throw a punch.

I step to the right making her miss her shot as she stumbles and falls face first on the floor. She gets back up and charges for me again this time I step to the left and she stumbles again. She gets angrier and angrier with each missed hit, she charges for me and stops right in front of me, lifting her fist to punch me in the face. I move my head to the right just as she's about to make contact which causes her to miss again. I nudge her with my shoulders which causes her to move backwards a little. She's beginning to shake uncontrollably in anger and I know her wolf is right at the surface. She takes a few more steps back and I know instantly what she's about to do. 'She's about to shift' I laugh inwardly, as she begins to shift 'stupid girl.' Lily smirks in my head. Her shabby brown wolf is now standing there instead of the pathetic girl that was there just a moments ago, she lunges forward at me, I catch her in mind air as I grab a hold of her throat at arms length in front of me.

I smile as she begins to try and claw my arm to let go of her throat. I begin to walk with her as I hold her in the air, I face the rest of the pack taking in all there facesas Marissa continues to scratch me. "Can anyone tell me what Marissa has done wrong." I shout out as I squeeze Marissa throat a bit more, earning a whimper from her. I smile knowing that she can scratch all she likes I will not let go, my grip is like a death grip. No one says anything, "fine." I let out a sigh, disappointed that no one knows. "Her attacks were sloppy and predictable and do you know why that is? " I ask out loud for anyone to answer. "Because she was angry." A small girl shyly answers me. I looked down at the girl a bit amazed that she knew the answer, after all none of the adults knew, I gave her a smile "that's correct darling, how old are you ?" I ask. "I'm 16." She says shyly. "Well darling your very smart, give me a minute and we will speak." She nods happily.

I move back a little as I remember that I'm still holding onto Marissa neck. I squeeze again making her whimper more as I face her. "Change back to your human form." I command in my Luna voice. She has no choice but to obey as she changes back into her human form. She's crying now I think it's finally sunk in that she isn't going to win. "Payton what are you doing." Jamie shouts as Jamie and Nathan enter the training grounds. Me and Marissa turn our heads to look at them, I'm refusing to let go.

One of the other females steps forward and begin to speak. "Alpha, Marissa was shouting that she was the future Luna and your mate and when miss conners told us all and showed us all her Mark," she took a deep breath " she offered a fight for rights of Luna and your mate with miss conners, to the death." She finished a little out of breath. Nathan is now glaring at Marissa and so is Jamie. "Is that so? " he says giving Marissa a deadly glare. It looked like she was hoping he would save her but he's my mate not hers. "Not all bad though love, I turned it into a demonstration, didn't want to waste the chance." I say calmly as I give him a wink. I look back at Marissa and squeeze her throat a little to make her look at me instead of my mate, she lets out a whine. I was now beginning to feel her blood drip onto my fingers as my nails imbedded into her flesh.
