One-sided Duel

Deep within the woods, a barren clearing bustled with activity in the Sirius capital as a scattering of men and women went about gruelling training regimens.

Hunters practised their katas and forms, sparring with one another from time to time while werewolves also went through different activities. Once in a while, werewolves sparred against hunters in a friendly battle to see who was superior… or at least to earn such bragging rights.

Occasionally, an alpha could be seen dragging a fleeing wolf back to the clearing for even more vigorous training, a punishment meant for anyone who even thought of dodging these gruelling sessions.

A bearded man who seemed to be in his late fifties stood at the edge of the clearing, dressed in a prestigious black leather overcoat, overseeing the activities with a curious gaze. A gentle spark of hope flickered deep within his eyes even though he refused to admit it to anyone other than himself.
