The hunters didn't have much time to be stunned. In a world of werewolves and humans, werewolves always had the upper hand, especially when the human was ordinary.
Training and exercise were always advised to give humans a fighting edge, however, even then the training had to be as difficult as Katie's to give a human any chance against a werewolf.
Only after gaining a Prometheus gift did humans get some actual leverage over werewolves. Of course, this logic began to break down the higher werewolves rose in rank.
Deltas and betas, who were third and second in rank to alphas, were significantly stronger than the average wolf and would require a hunter to focus on a battle against them. When they were trained well, they were even deadlier.
Then came the alphas… a breed of wolves even more powerful than the deltas and betas. An alpha was stronger than any wolf in the pack and as such, they were not to be messed with unless absolutely necessary.
