You... It was always You!?

Cassiel's POV

Sitting in my class I looked out the window. The sky seemed so gloomy, it was definitely going to rain today. Just as the thought crossed my mind, the sky shook as the clouds poured down heavy droplets.

I leaned my head on the window and closed my eyes, listening to the sound of the rain. I always loved it when the sky poured its heart out. It made everything look fresh. I am one of those people who love the smell of rain, flowers, new books, soft detergents and anything gentle.

*The sky was roaring so loud as if someone had angered it. Everything around him was so quiet that other than the sound of rain pouring and his footsteps, nothing could be heard at all.

Suddenly strong lightning struck a nearby hut, causing it to shatter into nothingness. Leaving no trace behind, the hut seemed to have vanished completely. Scared, he walked in the opposite direction where he could see a bright light blinking. Not thinking twice, he fastened his footsteps and walked towards the path that would lead him to the brightness.

A loud roar was heard making him stop in his tracks. He turned around, only to see nothing behind him. Maybe his mind was playing tricks on him. But as soon as he took his first step forward, a loud thump was heard, causing him to come to a complete halt.

"Hello? Who's there?" his voice shook as his heart began beating faster in his chest. To say he was afraid was an understatement. He simply wanted to run and protect himself from the now cold and pouring night.

Instead of getting an answer to his question, loud thumps were heard. He looked around frantically but could see only darkness that had engulfed him from all corners. The thumps stopped and he stood still once again, not daring to move an inch.

With no movements of anything being heard, he turned around in order to continue his journey, only to fall back on the ground with a loud shriek. Scared by the figure in front of him, he crawled backwards until his back hit a tree nearby, making him stop abruptly.

The huge creature, with red eyes and black fur, moved forward with its large paws moving swiftly across the scattered leaves and wet grass. The heavy rain had caused its fur to fall downwards as droplets of water fell to the ground from them. It looked so majestic in the middle of the night that he could barely take his eyes off it.

Standing up from his fall he reached his hand out to touch the furry animal in front of him. Before he could come in contact with its fur, the huge creature emitted light from its forehead. A shade of light red and orange surrounded it.

Slowly it started transforming from its original form. The once four-legged creature was now standing in front of him with two legs and a pair of hands. On his right hand was a bracelet that had a crescent attached to a hanging key.

He looked up to see the face but the light was too strong for him to make out what exactly this new person looked like. This time this faceless person held his hand out to reach and touch the confused face in front of him.

Not freaked out from the whole situation, though still a little dumbfounded, he simply kept staring at the light on this person's face in hopes that it would fade and he could see what exactly they looked like.

"Cassiel?!" Bewildered he looked around to see who was calling him.

"Cassiel?" Said the voice once again making him even more confused.

"You know me? How? What is your name?" He said in a low voice not quite sure about anything going around.*

"CASSIEL! WAKE UP IT'S ALMOST BREAK!!" I heard someone yell near my ear.

Break?!

Demented, I opened my eyes and rubbed them from the back of my hand. Looking around I could see a concerned Melvin and Zadkiel standing.

"What happened?" I asked completely unsure of the situation.

"Bro! We thought you had hit your head or something. You were talking weird things. Like how do I know you and what my name was!" Melvin explained as calmly as he could. Though I could clearly see from his face he was scared.

"Oh really?! I am very sorry to worry you both, I just had an unusual dream, that's all". I told them both, which seemed to partly convince them.

"Okay, if you say so! Come on, we came to wake you up for the break. Let's go!" Zadkiel said walking with his bag towards the door. I stood up, packed my belongings and took one last glance at the window. The rain was still pouring as heavily as before and the sky had gotten darker than before.

"Cassiel!!!!" An impatient Melvin screamed from the door, startling me slightly.

"Coming, coming!!!!" I raced after him, before walking towards the cafeteria with the other two beside me.

We were sitting in the cafeteria while eating peacefully when a group beside us started murmuring looking in our direction. I was certain they were talking something about me again, so I didn't really bother listening.

"I heard he is a freak!" Someone from the group shared with the others sitting around.

"No wonder he aces his exams, climbing up the beds of the teachers!" Another one said, to which everyone laughed.

"I also heard he makes people pay for a night" To this many looked in our direction, specifically me, with loud gasps here and there.

"How disgusting!" Someone commented.

"Cassiel, do you want to go to class and eat?" I looked up to see Melvin almost tearing up. I smiled his way, shook my head and continued eating.

"Eat Melvin! It doesn't bother me anymore!" I said munching down my food. He looked at me for a good two minutes, then got back to eating.

Rumours like these were not being spread for the first time. It sure did affect me in the beginning but now it didn't bother me one bit. I know what I am and I know what I do. I don't have to give justifications to people talking about whatever they want.

If they had brains in the first place, they would have tried confirming the news and then maybe spread them out if they were real. After all these years of listening to people talk shit, I stopped giving a shit about what they had to say, and since then, my life has been a little easier.

We three sat and continued eating. Upon hearing small sniffles I looked up to see my little BomBom tearing up. I simply placed my hand over his, squeezing it a little. He looked up to meet my eyes mouthing me a 'sorry'. I smiled and mouthed back an 'it's totally okay' to him. He looked down, still not very happy about the whole situation.

I was about to stand up when a pair of hands banged on my side of the table startling all three of us. We looked up to see Bylarina Ryan standing. Apparently, she was one of those who didn't really like my existence.

"Is everything okay?" I questioned her sitting straight.

"Huh? Do you have the face to question me?? You man-whore!" She screamed in my face. Confused, I asked her again...

"What's wrong?" She stood straight and crossed her arms over her chest purposely pressing her chest tight together.

"Don't you dare touch what's mine, bastard!" she screamed once again. I, not really understanding what she meant, wanted to ask her who she was exactly talking about. But before I could say anything she turned towards Melvin and continued talking.

"Melvin!! Why do you let this freak touch you? Hmm?" She asked him in a totally different tone than when she spoke to me.

"Ah she can talk like a human too" I mumbled softly making Zadkiel chuckle. Melvin, who seemed extremely annoyed stood up from his seat and stood face to face with Bylarina.

"Listen here, you moron. Cassiel is my friend and if you have a problem with that you can simply get lost!" This was the first time in many years I was seeing a mad Melvin.

His aura right at the moment was no joke. He looked super intimidating. Usually, he would always be the one to calm everyone down, but this time it was different. Baffled, Bylarina stomped her feet like a three-year-old and faked a sad face.

"But I Love You, Melvin! And I will get rid of this creep" She yelled, still stomping her feet.

"If anyone is getting rid of someone, that would be you, Ms. Bylarina Ryan," said a stern voice from the entrance of our cafeteria.

Recognizing the voice immediately, I turned around to make eye contact with none other than Dáinn Barlow. Just as our eyes met, I felt a spark run down my spine. I looked into his intimidating eyes for an extra minute before feeling a sharp pain in my foot. Bylarina had stomped on my foot purposely and I could see the smirk of satisfaction on her face.

"Great! Now you've earned yourself an expel from college" Dáinn said looking at Bylarina emotionlessly and walking towards our table. He sat down beside Melvin facing me, while Keanu sat beside me and Marcel stood behind me resting his hands on my shoulder.

"You okay, Cassiel?" A small voice laced with concern came from behind me. I turned around to show Marcel one of my million-dollar smiles.

"Yes, MarBoo I am perfectly fine!" I replied assuring him.

"MarBoo? MarBoo! I like it" He chuckled after repeating the name like a little kid, making me smile even more. I turned around again to see a straight face Dáinn boring holes into a scared and head-hung-low Bylarina.

Puzzled by the sudden change in her attitude, I elbowed Zadkiel who seemed to be just as clueless as I was. He simply shrugged his shoulders, completely understanding what I was asking of him. After a couple more minutes of silence, Dáinn stood up and started walking.

"Aren't you all coming to class?" He asked nonchalantly and started walking out the door, as we all hurriedly followed, leaving behind a still-blowing Bylarina.
