22 22•My funky Valentine [1]

Valentines. A day where couples are meant to be together and enjoy each other and a time where singles can watch and suffer in knowing they don't have anyone but there always the choice of not caring.

(AN:I just stabbed myself)

And like any other Valentines, the whole family was celebrating it, Jay and Gloria, Mitchell and Cameron, Phil and Claire, Haley and Dylan, Merlyn and Lucy, and adding to that mix, finally, Alex and Will.

Alex was unexpectedly excited and nervous at the same time as this is her first valentines with Will and she wants it to be great. So taking that in to account, we have our first scene at the Dunphy house, where Phil comes into the kitchen with Claire already there with her cup of coffee and a card beside it.

Phil:"Happy Valentine's Day."

Claire:"Oh, happy Valentine's Day."

They exchanged cards as they both read it and made 'aww' sounds as they kissed each other

Claire:"So, Fratelli's tonight?"

Phil:"Hello, cannoli canoe."

Phil left the kitchen and went back upstairs to get a couple more documents to put in his man purse as Alex and Haley were in the room with Alex putting something into a box that was neatly wrapped.

She then left it and stood in front of Haley who was on her bed, texting but then looked up to see her sister with a small smile

Alex:"So this?"

Haley:"God no, makes you look like a lesbian"

Alex was getting help from her fashion sister as she wanted to look great when she gives him his present. She then changed again and now she was wearing a pair of jeans with a pretty shirt, some lipgloss, her hair tied up in a pony tail with some earrings.

Looking into the mirror and smiling to herself, she nodded with Haley just giving a thumbs up

Haley:"Well better than your last outfit"

While that was going on, Jay just inspected his new stylish jacket in the kitchen that Gloria got him, while she was sitting on one of the stools

Jay:"I like it. Nice fit.Swanky material."

Gloria:"Jay, you look so strong and sexy.Like an Olympic wrestler, but with money."

They both laugh with Jay taking a red box out of his jacket and handing it to Gloria

Jay:"Your turn."

Gloria:"Okay.This is my favorite day in America."

Jay:"Happy Valentine's Day, gorgeous."

Gloria:"They're huge! Oh, my God."

Putting on a pair of diamond earrings that she got from the box.

Jay:"Yeah, those will work.You can wear 'em tonight. I have a surprise."

Jay handed her a note card with her already opening it

Gloria:"Don't tell me you're finally taking me salsa dancing! And who's David Brenner?"

Jay:"Only a Vegas legend."

Gloria:"Is he a magician? Cause I love magicians."

Jay:"He's a comedian."

Gloria:"A comedian? It's Valentine's Day.I thought we were going salsa dancing, not to watch a comedian."

She was moping with her voice already having a trace of whining

Jay:"You're gonna love him.Trust me.The guy's hilarious."

Gloria:"Okay, tell me one of his jokes."

Jay:"He doesn't do jokes."

Gloria:"Does he have a mallet?"

Jay:"No"

Gloria:"So then how does he get hit in the head?"

Jay:"He doesn't get hit in the head.He- He makes observations.He tells the truth in a funny way.Come on. He's been on Johnny Carson a hundred times."

Gloria:"Who the hell is Johnny Carson?"

Jay huffed out and shook his head as Gloria just shrugged and was still sitting there, waiting for an actual good explanation for why they're not going salsa dancing

——Commentary——

Gloria and Jay were sitting on chairs that were in the living room as they faced the camera

Jay:"Gloria and I are from different generations.And I won't lie-It isn't always easy.I mean, last week she thought Simon and Garfunkel were my lawyers.

Gloria:"No I didn't."

Jay:"It was a joke."

Gloria:"I don't get it."

Jay:"Maybe that's because there's no mallet."

The camera mildly focused on Gloria as she turned to Jay and looked at him for a while and then turned back to the camera

Gloria:"Yeah, I wish I had a mallet right now."

Back to the dumpy house, the Doorbell Rings as Claire opened it and there was Dlyan with a big rectangular present wrapped up in red paper and one rose in his other hand.

Claire:"Hi, Dylan."

Dylan:"Happy Valentine's Day, Mrs. Dunphy."

Claire:"Oh. Dylan, thank you. That is so sweet."

Phil shortly came afterward as he stood in the hallway beside the staircase.

Dlyan:"You know, all women should look as tasty

as you when they're old."

Claire:"Huh, conflicted"

Claire just nodded as Haley came downstairs with Alex

Haley:"Hey, baby."

Dylan:"Hey. Take this sweet gift as a token of my affection,my unending love and admiration-"

Haley:"Oh, my God. Yay, it's big! Oh, my God.I love it.It's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen."

Dylan:"Seriously, you gotta put a black light on it. It'll blow your mind."

Turns out the present was a portrait of Haley and Dylan on the bed with him being shirtless as they cuddled. Claire looked at it amazed while Phil gulped down and felt liked he had been one up.

Claire:"Wow! Dylan, I didn't know you could paint."

Dylan:"Oh, I didn't.I just took a photo and I put it through this program that turns it into a painting."

Claire:"Oh.oh so you two actually did...that."

Haley:"Uh-huh.Let's go put this over my bed."

Claire:"Not- No, no.Mm-mmm.You don't need to be

in the bedroom at all. I'll take it."

Grabbing it from her hands, Haley left while rolling her eyes as Dylan followed her. Phil and Claire looked at it again as they nodded. Alex just looked conflicted as her present was nowhere near that great.

Phil was currently sitting at the dinner table as he just smiled

Phil:"Did he trump me?You tell me.He made a painting out of a photograph one time.I have hand-picked a card,drawn a heart in the steam on the medicine cabinet, and taken Claire to Fratelli's, a family-style Italian restaurant, for 17 years in a row Yeah, he got me."

He took a breath as he faced the camera

Phil:"He got me. But there's still a card that I haven't played in a long time but today is that day and I will one up Dylan"

The doorbell was once again ringing as Claire opening it while having the painting facing her so that nobody had to look at it.

(AN:Well looks like galaxy rose and the crystal won, i think 3 is to much)

Will was standing there with 2 things wrapped up. Alex came down from the stairs as she smiled while letting Will in.

Will:"Happy valentines love"

Alex:"Happy valentines to you to"

She hugged him as he gave her a little kiss on her cheek as Claire and Phill stood there. Giving her one of the present, he took a rose from his back pocket as he gave it to Claire

Will:"Happy valentines to you to Mrs.Dunphy"

Claire:"Thanks Will, uh, what you got there?"

Will:"let's Let Alex open it and see"

They all looked at her as she nodded and opened the first thing that was wrapped up while Will telling her to be gentle and careful as he closed the door.

Alex:"Aww It's beautiful, you remembered?"

It was a galaxy rose that shows it's insanely good colors when it's dark. Alex knew of this because she always wanted one when she wanted to study in the dark and wanted a beautiful light to illuminate her surroundings

Will:"I do listen"

Alex:"Looks like you do"

Will:"Yeah, I had it custom made so on the leafs it has some of my motivational things that I say to you, so when you light it up in a dark place, you could see it on the wall or wherever it illuminates"

She chuckled and smiled as he hugged him one more time as she looked at it again with Phil smiling as well as Claire but he then gulped down.

Phil:"What's uh, the other one Will?"

Alex backed up with Will looking Phil and smiling as he turned back to Alex as he gave her the other one while taking the galaxy rose.

Alex:"Oh, heavy"

Chuckling, Phil gulped down again as Claire stood there amazed when she saw Alex unwrap it.

Its a crystal that has a photo of Alex and Will in the middle of it as the photo was Will behind Alex and hugging her from behind as she was laughing.

Claire:"Wow"

Phil:"Woah"

Alex:"It's beautiful."

Claire:"Let me guess, that's a picture in your phone and you rendered it?"

Will:"Yeah, how'd you known?"

Claire just shrugged as she kept looking at it with Alex smiling at it. Phil looked at camera and shook his head while keeping a straight face

Phil was seen still sitting at the dinner table as he threw his hands up and looked at the camera

Phil:"Okay if I'm gonna be outdone,I'm not gonna be 3rd, I rather be 2nd."

Alex:"Let's go to my room and put on my desk"

Claire:"Make sure to leave the door open!"

Alex hummed as they were already on the 2nd floor as they entered the room with her putting the crystal and rose on her lamp desk that was beside her bed.

She kept looking at it and smiling but then her face dropped as she remembered her gift to him

Will:"What's wrong?"

Alex:"Oh no no no no, you got all these amazing things and I-"

Will:"Let me guess, you got me what you think is so underserving in what I got you?"

Alex:"Does it show that much?"

Will:"Well, it was easily on your face so yeah"

She chuckled as she shook her head and sat on the bed. Will sat next to her as he brought one arm around her and made her and himself fall on the bed looking at the ceiling.

Will:"What I got you was just something I did to show you my love-"

Alex:"Exactly, all I got you was a stupid bead bracelet with our names, what does that say?"

Will:"That you actually got me something in your own way, bring it"

Alex groaned out and smiled as she got a box from her computer desk and sat on the bed as Will stood up and opened it. It was a simple yet bracelet with beads with his name and Alex but somehow he still smiled.

Will:"Thanks for the gift"

Alex:"Do you really like it?"

Will:"Of course, now come here"

She got up from the bed and smiled as she hugged Will, with him kissing her forehead. His phone then buzzed as Alex backed away and put her hands in her pocket as she saw Will take out his phone and read it.

Alex:"So, what's happening?"

Will:"Looks like my parents are going to visit their favorite comedian, which is weird since they tried to get me to like him but I prefer Kevin Hart"

Alex:"Oh my god, he's my favorite to, uh, I mean, pshh, he's alright"

Her arms were crossed as she nodded

Will:"Alex what are you doing?"

Alex:"What do you mean? This is how I talk. The cool girl"

Will:"Oh no"

Alex:"The cool girl dating the billionaire"

Will laughed as Alex looked at him. He stopped laughing and then continued as Alex new stance was still her arms crossed but more angrily.

Alex:"What?"

Will:"Oh nothing, it's just so funny you trying to act all tough and cool"

He stepped forward and patted her hair while also disheveling it. Alex swatted it away and started to walk away and spoke fast with Will having a smile

Alex:"ImnotactingthisishowiactgeezWillmakesuretotakelessoniloveyouseeya"

Alex and Will had a little romantic moment as Phil had all his things ready and was about to leave when he thought he didn't want to be outdone by a couple of teenagers, or at least be last.

Claire:"Bye, honey.See you later."

Phil:"See you later."

Claire:"Phil, what is that?"

Smelling a little bit more of perfume more than regularly, Claire was curious

Phil:"You know,we don't have to go to Fratelli's tonight."

Claire:"Okay, what do you have in mind?"

Phil:"Well, I thought you might enjoy a night at a hotel."

Claire:"I would, but would you and the kids be okay?"

Phil:"I meant together."

Claire:"Yes, I know."

Phil:"Oh. I know. I know.I got it.So, what do you think?"

Claire:"I think you're not getting any sleep tonight,so you might want to take a nap at work today."

Phil:"I always do."

Phil gave her the eyes as he smiled and turned to head for the door but Claire stopped him and walked forward in front of him as she looked around making sure no one was within ear shot range

Claire:"Phil? Sweetie.As long as we're talking about

being a little bit naughty,what would you say to a little role-playing?"

Phil:"Role-play?"

Claire:"Mm-hmm."

Phil:"I'm in."

Claire:"I'll set up sleepovers for the kids"

Phil:"And I'll swing by after work to pick you up."

Claire:"No, no.Why don't you meet me in the hotel bar and see if you can pick me up there."

Phil:"Careful, lady.You're gonna wake up a sexy sleeping giant."

Brushing her chin, Phil chuckled a bit as he slowly walked to the door and started to talk in a English accent

Phil:"Perhaps I'll be Reginald Appleby,an English gentleman in town for a polo match."

Claire:"Phil-"

He switched to his Chinese accent as he started to open the door

Phil:"Or…Honorable businessman from Hong Kong."

Claire:"Kinda wrecking it."

And with that, he exited and closed the door as Claire started to walk away but Will appeared before her right in the kitchen door way, scaring her a bit, somewhere where if someone opened the door, they wouldn't be able to see

Claire:"Will, gave me a jump scare there"

Will:"Sorry about that but Alex and Me were wondering if it would be okay to go with Cameron and Mitchell later tonight, something about manny reclaiming-

Phil:"It's not a big deal, Claire.I just train tigers for a living."

Will heard Phill in a Scottish accent and stopped talking as Claire closed her eyes and inhaled sharply as she turned around and shook her head

Claire:"Worst possible timing If, and that's a big If, if Will heard us before but since he's still a kid, I doubt he knows what just happened"

Claire had a tight smile as she nodded slowly at the camera

Will:"Uhh"

Claire:"Don't-just act like you didn't hear anything"

Will:"Noted"

Claire:"And yes, to your first question now, if you excuse me, i uh, gotta"

She left Will standing there kinda confused and a little bit traumatize if what he thinks is true. He shudders just thinking about that but then again, it's part of Human evolution.

Like Alex said, the path to better the world and to better the environment starts with kids because the children are our future and kids come from adults who have sex.
