Vengeance

The day I returned home, my view of this world  changed completely.

"Eve!"

I stepped inside the gates of the Mansion and walked a few meters when I heard someone crazily calling my name. The door opened very quickly, and a fiery crying woman came to my arms like a bullet.

She pushed my stomach and my chest with a strong hug, and I almost fell down with her in my arms, but fortunately, my legs resisted. Goodness, this woman should measure her mighty force for once. Then I felt my cute Maya started weeping so sorrowfully that my eyes began to tear.

"Where have you been?... I was so scared of anything happening to you, Eve? What happened? Your husband went almost crazy looking for you everywhere, even Vin and your Grandpa, they mobilized many people even the army… for God's sake, where were you, Eve? I was so afraid…"

Her words came so quickly that I didn't know what to say. I kept silent for a few seconds, then I reach for her head and patted her soft hair. Her eyes were swollen and with dark circles underneath. I knew how much fear she carried the last week, as I would be the same.

"I am okay, Maya, don't worry."

Sighs… my dear Maya, I wanted to console her, but she only got angrier. Her little frown on her forehead was getting bigger, and she hit my shoulder with her little fist.

"Don't worry? Are you saying to not worry? Ha. hahaha… It was a week, a week, and no news about you, nothing!" She kept hitting. Dammit, it hurts.

"Maya… I… I am so sorry, please forgive me."

Again, she hugged me hard and stayed there for a few seconds before a multitude of cars make way through the main gates and stopped right in front of me and Maya, she let go of me when a sudden pair of arms wrapped my body with so much force that it was hard to breathe.

Liam didn't say anything as his head was buried in my hair. I could feel her shaking hands and rapid breathing on my skin, making me feel his anxiousness and relief. I closed my eyes for a moment to calm my storming heart and my tears threatening to go down like rain. I know he was so worried about me, and the guilty feeling inside my heart kept pressing more and more. Then he turned me around and carried me to our bedroom.

He didn't stop hugging me, and I could only let him do whatever he wanted without making a move.

"Liam… I am sorry." I was the first to break the ice. "I am so sorry, Liam."

"…"

He shook his head and caressed my back.

"No… I am sorry, Eve, my love. I should have protected you better, I should have found you earlier. I shouldn't let this happen, not to you." He breathed on my hair and I could hear his shaking voice and the drops of his tears on my shoulder. "I am sorry… I am sorry."

I was feeling guiltier even more. We stayed like that for a few minutes, my heart was almost shattering.

"I am sorry, Liam."

"What happened Eve? Where were you?"

"I… I… it's difficult to say."

He looked at me with confused eyes and I could see his red tired eyes and the dark circles around them. The beard on his face had started to grow, and his skin looked pale, even his body was thinner than before.

My hand instinctively reached for his cheek, and he caressed my hand, looking at me. I couldn't stop the feeling anymore, and I cried soundly in his chest.

That night I slept for a long time while crying on his chest, I didn't even eat or shower, I just stayed there with him while he hugged me closely, not letting me go for the whole night. He didn't pressure me onto saying anything about yesterday's kidnapping, he just stayed there, close to me.

Three days passed, and I spent them with my dear Mila, I missed her so much. Every minute of her life I wanted to witness it, her little babbles and smiles, and when she couldn't stop laughing while Liam made funny faces. I wanted to record it in my memory.

Liam didn't pressure me onto saying anything and let me stay with Mila, even to sleep. The three of us shared the bed and were as calm as I wanted to be.

Maya and Vin visited me frequently but didn't ask anything about that day, even Grandpa and uncle were abnormally silent. However, I felt grateful as I didn't want to talk about what happened those days.

I was inside my office with Mila by my side and the few screens opened and connected to the cameras of one hotel. A luxurious five-star hotel hosting an event for the launch of a product of the recently founded company GardenIT.

SilverLight: Yes, I've been training them, I know they are capable.

Suddenly, the camera from the entrance showed a man and a woman entering the hall. The reporters and cameras flashed to picture his face. He looked magnificent with his blue cold eyes behind his glasses, his styled blonde hair, and the white tuxedo making his body seem fit and muscular. He was flashing a small smile, and the women's excited screams increased by several degrees.

The woman by his side was also a beauty, with her silver dress looking captivating. Her dark hair was long and braided in a modern style. Her eyes looked incredible with a golden touch on them. However, even with that sensual dress, her gaze looked smart and piercing.

I felt my fists clenching harder at the sight of those two. My heartbeat was increasing quickly, making my thirst for vengeance even more aggressive.
