" What? Is it bad that I can't use magic? " Itami says confusedly.

"Yeah, then you're only good for close quarters combat" Kazuma sighed.

" Is that a challenge? " Itami said, crossing his arms while facing Kazuma

"Noooo… " Kazuma responded slowly looking away from him.

" Hand me your bow and arrow " Itami annoyingly said as he reached out his hand.

Sighing, Kazuma gives Itami his bow and arrow as he sits down and watches. Itami then readys a shot and takes a deep breath, his only focus on one of the frogs going after Aqua. He then releases the shot, the arrow flies through the air as Aqua runs towards them. The frogs then line up at an angle where the arrow penetrates one of the frog's eyes and exits out the other, the arrow still intact goes through the other frog's eye, killing both of them.

Kazuma, Megumin, and Aqua are dumbfounded by the shot.

" He's definitely better than you." Megumin says as she lays on the snow floor.

Kazuma "would you shut it! " He then flicks some snow on the weak Megumin as he turns and sees Itami smirking.

"Now be prepared to have your draws drop!" Itami confidently says as he runs towards Darkness. He quickly shortens the distance between them as he takes out his sword that he holsters on his back. He takes out his sword and with a clean strike chops the head off the frog but he then trips on the slime that covered Darkness.

Both Darkness stands glorified as she witnesses Itami's strike. Aqua then stands next to Kazuma crossing her arms. " Even though that arrow almost hit me, I won't thank him for saving me"

Kazuma " How petie can you be…*observes Itami's sword* that's definitely a Katana.. Now how did he get it? "

Itami stands up but slips on the frog's slime and is disgusted at himself. " This stinks so mu-" He was cut off by Darkness breathing heavily and enjoying herself being covered in slime.

Itami " I don't know if I should be more disgusted at you or the fact that I'm covered in the same stuff as you"

Darkness was about to respond but another Frog emerges next to them, Darkness only gets more excited as Itami freaks out.

Itami " Crap! shit!"

Darkness " Yes come at me! "

The frog ignores Darkness as it gets Itami and tries to swallow him, with his head peeking out and slowly going deeper into the frog's mouth.

*You know… I never thought I'd be going out like this*

Kazuma saves Itami in the end and Itami crawls out the dead frog.

Kazuma " What happened to our jaws dropping? *grinning*"

Itami " I don't want to talk about it, can you give me my sword please?"

Kazuma then picks up his sword and stares at it, " You call this a sword right?"

Itami sits up and rubs the back of his head " Yeah, the blade itself is weird but It was passed down in my family."

" Huh...You know this is called a katana" Kazuma says as he fiddles with the katana.

Itami watches him as he feels a sharp pain in his right eye, he covers his right eye with his hand as he looks up at Kazuma but sees another person helping him up. For a moment he sees the person's entire body but their face scribbled out, he suddenly snaps back into reality and sees Kazuma handing his Katana to him. With his slimy hands, Itami grabs the katana out of Kazuma's hand " Whatever, I don't really care what it's called….*mutters* I need a bath"

Kazuma, Darkness, and Itami walk back to the group only Itami and Darkness smelling like frog guts.

After taking a bath in the public bath house he spots Megumin outside waiting for him.

Itami " Where's the rest of your party?"

Megumin " Oh they left to the guild, they wanted me to wait here for you actually"

Itami `` Alright but how's the slime doing? "

Megumin " Oh you mean Nurunu?"

Itami " ...huh?" with a blank expression he waits for Megumin to continue.

Megumin " I noticed that you always called it "slime" so I decided to give it a name"

Itami " True but why did you have to give it a weird name?"

Megumin " THAT'S NOT A WEIRD NAME! YOUR NAME IS THE WEIRD ONE"

Itami " I guess but at least it's better than yours " He shrugs as he feels the punches of Megumin on his back.

Nurunu huh...not a bad name honestly

Itami enters the guild where more than half the patrons are drunk and Kazuma drunkenly greets him.

Kazuma " Welcome to our Party new Recruit *Hiccups* You better not let your boss down! Here your first one is on me!"

Kazuma then hands him a drink and walks into the crowd of drunk adventures.

Megumin " Their this drunk already? Well I guess it's official that your a part of our party, come on I'll show you where we sit"

Megumin leads Itami to the table they usually sit at and see Darkness sitting by herself. They both take a seat and Itami puts his drink in the middle of the table.

" You're not going to drink it?" Darkness asked.

Itami responded " Not really a drinker but your fine after today's Frog quest?" He then sees Megumin out the corner of his eye, eying down the drink.

Megumin " Don't mind me" Megumin reaches for the beverage as both Darkness and Itami talked

Darkness " Yes I'm fine but my clothes now reek of guts *blushing*"

"You're thinking about being eaten by frogs aren't you? " Itami asked with a concerned look.

"No… " Darkness muttered as her red is still bright red.

Itami slowly moves further away from Darkness. "masochistic"

"Am not!" Darkness pouting her face as she crosses her arms. "Before I forget, here's your share of the reward for the frogs. "

Darkness hands Itami a bag of Eris but when reaching out for it he tips the glass of beer spilling all of it before Megumin can grab it.

Itami " oops my bad"

Megumin now her head on the table muttering " So close…"

Ignoring Megumin Darkness asked " You still don't have an adventures card do you? "

Itami " Why would I need that? "

Darkness " Well so you can actually become our official new party member and be a adventure.All you have to do is pay the fee then you become an adventure"

Itami " I just have to pay a fee and I'm an adventurer? What kind of rule is that!"

*Paying to become an Adventure… why on earth do we run the system like this?*

Itami gets up from the table and goes to the receptionist area where he starts his process to become a legal adventure. After filling out some paperwork he hesitates to touch the blue crystal.

After a bit of time he puts his hand over it, the crystal starts to glow but it changes color to a deep black as it releases black and purple lightning . The receptionist starts to freak out as everyone at the guild looks at the commotion. Itami quickly pulls his hand away and as he does the crystal shatters. The tension builds up as Itami carefully moves the shattered crystal bits and gets his adventures card.

The drunken Aqua then distracts everyone by doing some of her party tricks. Everyone then forgets about Itami and watches her tricks instead.

receptionists 1 " Sorry sir, it seems that our crystal had a malfunction at the end, but on the bright side that it finished your card!"

" Yeah, with these stats I'll choose the adventures class,Thank you!" Itami worryingly smiles at the receptionists, leaving her to clean the mess, she only gives him a weird look before she starts to clean the broken crystal.

As he walks towards his party while looking at his card, it shows his level being 1 and all his stats being low. He then bumps into the table where he spills Megumin's drink.

Itami " Oh my bad, I wasn't paying attention to where I was going"

Darkness " It's fine. As long as you got your card, and now you're officially in our party"

Megumin " Everything is not fine! You spilled my booze!"

Darkness " Your too young to be drinking anyways"

Megumin " But I just recently turned 14! I should be able to drink!"

Itami orders a drink and some fried frog legs ignoring Megumin comments and looking at his surroundings taking it in, just smiling but he then has a flashback of other people.

Drinking with them while a party is going on, remembering all the feelings he had but their faces scribbled over. Itami covers his right eye as he stares at the ground. His breathing becomes irregular as he looks up and sees both Darkness and Megumin staring at him with a worrying look.

" Are you alright" The both of them say

" Yeah just had too much to drink.. " Itami responded.

He then grabs the food and leaves the table before Darkness and Megumin can tell him anything.

" He didn't drink anything,Did he? " Megumin said. " No, he just took his food without drinking anything…." Darkness responded.

Itami stumblely opens the mansion door as Nurunu hops in front of him, greeting him but Itami throws his stuff and the frog legs on the floor. He holds head in pain as memories start to flood into him, the memories of him being with a group of people. He then gets on his knees smacking his head on the floor. "FORGET ABOUT THEM! DAMN IT! JUST FORGET THEM!.... " He stops as blood drips from his forehead head, softly crying.

" Why… why can't I forget them… "

Nurunu was about to eat the fried frog legs on the floor but he stops and turns to Itami. Itami slams the floor with his fist as he rests his head on the floor still bleeding. Nurunu goes next to him and gets his attention, Itami's face still in tears as he hugs Nurunu. He tightly squeezes into Nurunu still softly crying as he whispers to himself

"Not again… "

Itami slowly wakes up and sees the rest of Kazuma's party relaxing while Darkness sits on her knees in front of him.

"You had a rough fall didn't you? " She said with a warm smile.

After looking at Darkness, he then looks at the others. Kazuma under a kotatsu while Megumin is playing a board game with Aqua but with Nurunu on her head. He then realizes that the wound he gave himself is healed as he takes a long look at Kazuma's party and only gives a fake smile. " Yeah it was a pretty rough fall"

*Do I want to do it all over again ?....

Or should I leave them… *
