Rebekah opened her eyes and slowly stood up. She felt a terrifying power flow within her body like a million stars exploded inside her at the same time. The Euphoria she felt reminded her of the old days when she was in her teens when she hated what she was.
The familiar strength filled her body, her senses heightened, her body grew durable and a terrifying hungry assaulted her mind. She grew confused and slightly scared once she saw her palms.
They were healthy and smooth, overflowing with life unlike her sickly hands at the age of 83, Rebekah grew older after becoming a human and died years later as an old woman. Now somehow she had gained her youth and her vampirism.
She couldn't understand how she became a vampire even though the cure resided within her body, which should have failed every magic from changing her. She touched her face and caressed her cheek in wonder and confusion. Knowing full well that she couldn't find an answer on her own, she decided to confront the ones who woke her up.
Just as she raised her head, Freya entered her view and more confused she became. Like Rebekah, Freya too had become a mortal after Niklaus died, with her quasi-immortality spell no longer in effect. She too had aged quite a bit before she passed away a few years after Rebekah's 80th birthday.
And now her 'dead' sister was standing in front of her, looking in her early twenties with a big smile over her face. Rebekah had a lot of questions but before anything else, she climbed out of her coffin and rushed towards Freya before giving her a tight hug.
"It's been so long sister…..Nikolaus was very sad for his aunt Freya when you passed away, It's so nice to see you alive, once again!"
Freya returned the hug enthusiastically before speaking in a happy tone.
"Yes!, it's been too long Rebekah and it is so nice to see you again. I know that you have a lot of questions but first I need you to meet someone."
Hearing the oldest sibling's words, Rebekah's confusion intensified as she asked in a curious tone.
"Ok..."
From the cover of shadow created by a giant rock, a young man in his early twenties stepped out, his ocean blue eyes froze Rebekah in her place, his white-hair and sharp features caused her to suddenly feel choked with untold emotions. The pale white skin and calming nature excluded by the man reminded her of the one person who she thought was dead, someone who she never thought that she would see again, someone who she thought had already passed on to the afterlife.
Her little brother…..
The youngest Mikaelson...
"Henrik...."
Hearing his sister call his name, Henrik felt his emotions breaking through the dam he had created to limit himself.
"Rebekah…."
Henrik burst forth with speed unseen by the world and arrived in front of his lovable sister. Both of them hugged each other as Henrik lifted his sister up in the air due to him being taller than her. Tears fell down their faces; especially from Henrik's face, after all, it has been 4-millenniums since he last saw his sister, before he was mauled to death.
Henrik loved each and every one of his siblings very much but Rebekah and Niklaus were the two siblings he was closest to, Freya was sent with Dahlia and never got the chance to interact with any of her siblings other than Finn.
Rebekah and Niklaus had a special place within Henrik's heart out of his other siblings, that is why he was so happy upon seeing Rebekah recognize him even though he had grown into a young man, even after so many years.
After a few moments, Henrik loosened his grip and placed his sister down on the ground before wiping his tears as Rebekah imitated his actions seeing which Freya chuckled happily. Rebekah excitedly bombarded Henrik with questions.
"Henrik!, my brother! You are alive! When you were mauled to death by those werewolves, we thought that you had attained peace as you were just a normal human when you died, so how are you here!? How are you in flesh and that too as an original vampire whose strength exceeds even Nik's!?"
If not for the fact that Rebekah was an Original vampire and had an indestructible body, Henrik's grip would have very well crushed a boulder into tiny pieces.
Instead of answering Rebekah, he smiled and placed the tip of his right-hand finger at her forehead before saying in a calm tone.
"See for yourself Rebekah"
"...[Reverse-psychometry]..."'
Memories like water flooded her mind, causing her to feel a bit dizzy and tired but with her strong soul, she was able to complete the transfer procedure and slowly digested the sudden flow of memories. Images appeared within her mind which suddenly broke into pieces and entered her permanent memory.
Rebekah saw what Henrik had witnessed till now, what he did, what had happened after his death, how he suffered, everything else and what she saw saddened her beyond belief, guilt-weighted her conscious and a sharp pain assaulted her chest. Just like everyone else, she too accepted Henrik's death and never even tried to search for his soul, thinking that their brother had already achieved peace.
They should have known...
When was any member of the Mikaelson family truly dead, even Fin was brought back to life so why couldn't there be Henrik?
Was he not a Mikaelson?
Was he not supposed to be spared in the grand schemes of the world?
Was he supposed to suffer faith worse than death?
They could have looked, they should have looked, even once...
Alas, what's done was done, the damage was already dealt and there was nothing she or anyone else could do about it other than trying their best to make up for their actions.
Even so, Rebekah felt even more horrible after seeing what her little brother went through while they indulged in douchebaggery.
She felt pain in her heart as if someone had torn open her chest and held her beating heart within their palm, applying pressure over it so to crush it into a meat patty.
Guilt was slowing eating her from inside.
Wasn't she supposed to protect her younger sibling?
Wasn't it her duty to do so?
Tears continued to flow out of her eyes as her soft heart was breaking under self-loathing and pain.
Noticing her condition, he clasped her palm within his own and spoke in a soothing tone.
"Forget the past sister! Aren't I alive and in front of you, these insignificant things shouldn't matter! You have returned and it is one of the happiest days in my life!."
"Come sister! You must be hungry, I have prepared excellent food and wine to improve your mood."
Saying so he didn't give her a chance to protest, he turned towards Kiyohime and said in an indifferent tone.
"Summon Gracia Gerard back to the family and bring the wine, today we will celebrate!"
Freya walked towards Henrik and Rebekah and teleported them away to the Mikaelson mansion in Tokyo near the beautiful sea.
Henrik knew that his soft-hearted sister would surely beat herself up for what happened to him thus he had already decided to divert her focus in some other activity.
And once her emotions were stable, he would teach her how to you [Force]?
It must be practised with a calm mind though he knew that it would take a long time for her to let go and a lot of coaxing was on its way.
Hopefully, Gracia would be able to help Rebekah cope up with the situation.
