Chapter :-56 The Beginning of the Sengoku Period (Part-2)

1560, Japan, Okehazama…

(Deep inside mountains)

"What do you three think?"

"The outnumbered Oda Nobunaga defeats and kills Imagawa Yoshimoto in a surprise attack."

"An interesting youth, isn't she?"

"Well, her tactics sure are fresh and creative."

Four people wearing black cloaks sat around a round table, huge symbols in white were drawn behind their back, 4-rhombic hats on their heads, signifying their origin along with their status.

The [Kage] position has been created shortly after the creation of alliance by Henrik Mikaelson, one of the alliance's founders.

The whole of Japan has been divided into 4-regions, the [Kage] was responsible for overseeing the happening within their designated region and decided whether to interfere within the matter or not.

The 4-Kage would meet at the hidden summit, deep within Mount Fuji and discuss the different consequences of their interference and the happening within the country. It has been a few years since the start of the Sengoku period within the country.

War and death plaques the country along with the ever-rising death rate, countless households destroyed, countless warriors fell, chaos everywhere.

Minamoto Obito of the Minamoto clan overseeded the northern region of the country, Koga Sakura of the Koga clan overseeded the western region, Henrik Mikaelson of the Mikaelson clan overseeded the southern region along with [Kyoto]. In contrast, Oda Nuhigehe of the Oda clan overseeded the eastern region.

This title was only known to the upper-echelons to the respective 4-clans, the summit was held on neutral grounds, and each [Kage] could only bring 2-warriors with him.

No one was allowed to share the discussed topic out the summit, and the existence of this title was kept under wraps.

This worked exceptionally well for Henrik; he was able to access all of Japan while keeping it hidden from everyone.

"I believe that we should strike while the iron is hot; the whole country is in chaos; we should use this chance to unity all fronts and stand together."

"What you are saying is indeed correct, Henrik-san but who will head the united front, we can't use our alliance to control the country, we need a unifier to become the public face while we establish a proper system for the country to function upon."

Beneath the black cloak, Minamoto Obito wore a black long-sleeve top that covered his neck and chin, a pair of black gloves, a couple of dark-coloured pants, a long green scarf and standard sandals and white stirrups. On his waist, he wore a thick black belt with armour-like metal plates attached to it, and similar plates on his upper arms. Obito had blue nail polish on his fingers and toes.

"I also agree, and I think Sakura-san would too….?"

Oda Nuhigehe was a massive man with muscles building from his form. His body has a slight tan. He sports long, unruly blue hair and a matching goatee. His typical attire under the black cloak consists of white Haori and a black cape which he keeps typically thrown over his shoulders.

Many large scars decorate a great deal of his body, including his back; chest and even forearms. These scars are a result of his battles against the other clans.

"Of course, but the question still remains…."

"I think Oda Nobunaga would be the perfect individual to be the unifier.…."

Oda Nuhigehe looked towards Henrik with surprise evident in his eyes, according to him, the person should be one from the other 3-clans since his clan had the lowest status amongst the alliance.

"Hmmm…I too agree…"

"Yes, Nuhigehe-san should make use of this opportunity and make the Oda clan grow more. We already have reached the height of status and power, but your clan still has a long way to go…"

"Sakura-san's words may be a little harsh, but it is the truth, the alliance was made for the benefit and growth of each of the four clans, its time for the Oda clan to rise above…."

"Eh, very well then….I will send more troops to Nobunaga and will help her in her conquest."

"At the current head of the Oda clan, you must guide her. Take her to [Kyoto]; the Gerard family will provide her with their forces under Kiyohime and help her unite the country."

"Okay…"

"Anyway…. Henrik-san, I would like you to meet Sarutobi Sasuke, an extremely talented shinobi and an outstanding ninja, he was adopted by one of our clan elders and trained under him for years…."

Koga Sakura is a voluptuous woman with long, wavy purple hair that falls all the way down her back and matching eyes. At the front, the right side of her hair falls over her breast and covers her right eye, while the left side falls near the top of her skirt.

Under the black cloak, her attire is a dress consisting of a navy blue tunic top with gold accents and a pale blue skirt with open sides, black shoes and over matching thigh-high stockings with garter belts.

The top reveals much of her cleavage and is held with a gold choker with blue and red jewels. Over this, she wears a white overcoat with black and gold accents and matching pauldrons.

For accessories, she wears a black headband with a red-orange jewel over her forehead to keep her long hair in place and wields two [Katana] on sides.

For cosmetics, she wears purple lipstick and nail polish, matching her eyes and hair.

A Koga ninja who excelled in assassination and seduction skills also was far-sighted and equally gifted.

Beside her stood a tall man with an athletic build, wearing tight ninja outfit, two short swords on his back and a square-like head-guard.

He had light greenish eyes and spiky black hair; his face held a stoic expression as he gazed at the young Henrik Mikaelson.

He stepped forward and bowed towards the 4-leaders of the alliance.

"Sasuke believes that Japan and its people should experience the outside world more, he finds the [Kyoto system] very useful and is delighted by the fact that the capital has been completely stable over the years also the harmony between the clans existing there has left him speechless."

"As the annual gift of Koga ninjas within the Gerard family draws near, he volunteered himself for serving under you."

"I hate to say this, but I wouldn't have sent him to you if I could, after all, he is one of the best we have in the clan, but alas!…."

Henrik looked towards the young ninja and asked him a few questions.

"I understand if you volunteer to join the Gerard clan, after all, they are known for their qualities, but why do you want to serve me? You don't know anything about me?."

"From your actions of establishing the alliance, the system in [Kyoto] and finally the [Kage] title, I can say that you want Japan to prosper and for people to stop the infighting and unity as a nation."

"Your action of breaking the culture of paying homage to China, then again breaking off all trades from that country and the promotion of foreign items and knowledge within the country defines you for me."

"You also don't seem to have any intention of ruling the country but rather want to establish the [System of Kyoto] within the whole country, though I think that there is something more to your plan than just bringing peace to the country, overall your decisions do benefit the country."

"This land has given me a lot, I intend to pay it back, and I believe that by serving you, I will have the chance to rid this land of the infighting and chaos."

Hearing Sasuke's words not only Henrik but even the other leaders, including Koga Sakura, were all stunned by the detailed information, Sasuke was able to deduce just through Henrik's actions alone. The Mikaelson family being mysterious wasn't just a say, but a cold, hard truth.

Henrik looked deeply at the kneeling figure of Sasuke as he thought.

ᒥ.... Honestly, a legend, such terrifying deduction ability!!!….ᒧ

"I want you to think once again, serving a Mikaelson is different from serving another person. You would have to swear loyalty to me along with your soul, forever and eternity."

After hearing Henrik's words though they couldn't understand want, he meant to say, but they were sure that serving a Mikaelson was a severe thing, much more severe than anything.

Sasuke was determined and took a deep breath before speaking with conviction.

"I swear by God this sacred oath, that I will render unconditional obedience to Henrik Mikaelson, the founder of alliance and system, the leader of Mikaelson family, and will be ready as a brave shinobi to risk my life at any time for this oath."

"For the remainder of my life, I swear upon my soul; I will forever protect my master from all harm."

(A/N:-Only a few selected Gerard family members are immortals like Sasaki and Kiyohime. Others die in time and are replaced by the younger generation.)

(A/N:-By immortals I mean, they are linked to Henrik with a pseudo-immortality spell, same as Freya. There will only be two vampires in the whole novel. First, Kiyohime and second Minoru kudou.)

(A/N:-I will not make this arc too long, a few significant incidents, and then we will move on to the main timeline.)
