2 Chapter 2 :

Damn, I wake up with a jolt again. I also need to have a meeting with Mr. Leviels tomorrow. Jesus, I have to text Natalie.

"Damian : Natalie, please schedule a meeting with Mr. Leviels at 10 am sharp, tomorrow." Her reply doesn't take long to come.

"Natalie : Sure, sir. Good night." I sigh. Good night? My ass. I can't even sleep. I can read a book. Yeah, that I can. I take out a random book from the shelf and start reading it and times flies by. I can see the dim rays of sun penetrate my room, lighting it up.

God, I hate the sun. Thanks to the daylight Signet ring, I mutter to myself as I twist the ring on my index finger. I don't know what has gotten into me today. Maybe I should ask Adam Luther for golf. That seems like a good idea. I pick up my phone and start typing out a message for him.

"Damian : Adam, golf at 7?"

"Adam : That's the spirit, Godfrey. Be ready to lose another game. Meet me at Mariners club."

I hate to admit it, but playing with Adam improves my game. I pout at my mobile screen. Damn arrogant guy, he already knows he'll win. I check my watch, it's 6:24 am already. Way to go. I brush my teeth and wear a brand new track suit which I bought for golfing with Adam. I grab my golf kit as I call Luke.

"Luke, I'll be in the car by another 10 minutes, take out my Audi. We'll be heading towards Mariner's golf club."

"Sure, sir." With one last look in the mirror, I get in the elevator as I press the garage button. The double doors open, revealing my garage. Luke has already taken out my Audi. Without wasting time, I quickly get in the car. After a short drive of 10 minutes, I find myself at the club. But Adam is nowhere to be seen. That's when someone bear hugs me from the back.

"Damn, Godfrey. Here you are. Be ready to lose another game, hotshot." Adam laughs at me.

"Keep your eyes on the ball this time, Luther." I playfully threaten him.

After one hour or so, the match has ended in a draw. Pulling off a draw with Adam is the other name of success. I go back home when I see Mrs. Reed is busy in the kitchen. She spots me and she smiles.

"Spanish omelette and coffee, Mr. Godfrey?" She smiles at me again.

"Sure, I'll be right back. Thank you, Mrs. Reed." I go back to my room and freshen up a bit. I walk towards the kitchen counter as I sit on one of the barstools; she serves in my breakfast. I finish off my food as I get ready for office. Dressed in all black, I am feeling extra confident today. Good for me. After a drive of 20 minutes, I am standing infront of my office.

It has "GODFREY CORPORATION " written on the building in bold letters. My hard work for the last 2 centuries has paid off. Now, it's a multinational company. I smile at the thought as I get in my office. Several people stand up and greet me and I nod in return. I stalk towards my private elevator and punch 40 on the button pad. After a few seconds, the double doors open, revealing my office and the conference room beside it. Natalie should be taking interviews now. How about I handle them? It's only 9:12 am and my meeting with Leviels is on 10. I make up my mind as I stride towards the conference room and push the huge silver door open.

"Mr. Godfrey, good morning. You…I was handling the interviews." Natalie mutters out.

"I didn't have much important business now. I can handle this interview. Go and schedule some calls for me. After I finish this interview, put Graves on the line." I say, dismissing her.

"Right away, sir." And she's gone. Okay, here we go.

"Er…good morning, Mr. Godfrey…I am uh, Lucas Carter." I notice some abrupt movements as a young man gets up from his chair, and hazel eyes peer to look up at me. For a moment, I am speechless.
