6 Chapter 6

As me and the titans made our way to Vita city in the titans jet I couldn't help, but feel all of it was my fault. If only I had been stronger I could have stopped all this from happening. I wouldn't have ever got captured and those kids wouldn't have had to feel the need to join in the situation. If only maybe, then Invictus team would have never got the chance to one up us. To make things even worse they still had vanity and knew that the justice league was nowhere to be found which gave them the fire power they needed to strike while we were down. I sit back looking out the jets window over the waves of water and small islands we were passing.

" Everything is going to be ok Alaska. We're going to get them back, I promise." Robin said looking back at her.

" It's not that robin...I have little to no lack of fate in you or the others...it's just that this mess up once again has shown and proven why Superman doesn't believe in me to be a great hero"

" Don't put yourself down Alaska. Heroes make mistakes and sometimes things happen where they make choices and deal with the consequences. It's part of the job and it's unavoidable." Kid flash says.

"It's not your fault for the things that happen. It all just have been bad timing. Your still learning, but Alaska you have shown so much growth from last year to now. You have a strong will and most of all you have a bright heart...That's what makes you a great hero" Starfire says to her placing a hand on her shoulder.

" Thanks guys...I'm glad to have friends like you around to help me."

With all that said robin alerted everyone that they were right off the coast of Vita city and that they will touch down in three minutes. Once they got to the area of landing which was a dusty open field, robin started to do an environmental scan analysis on the area to try and find strange radiation signals.

" Find anything?" Aqualad ask.

" No. wherever there headquarter is at its in a blocked off satellite area" robin explains.

" which mean they hide out could be anywhere" Raven states.

" Starfire and raven go search east. Beast boy and kid flash you guys take west,while robin and aqualad go north. I'm going to head south"

They all nodded heading off to their assigned directions as I took to the sky flying off heading south. After an hour of searching we finally found where their headquarters was located at as robin radios everyone to meet in the northwest side of the sixth district of the city.

" on my way!"

When I got to the sight I slowly and quietly made my way to the ground as I saw Robin and the others hiding behind a boulder. When I asked what was going on robin explained that the headquarters had fire mutant dogs guarding the area. Along with that they had defenses set up over all the entrances.

" I'm going to try hacking into their system again and shutting down those drones. You guys try to take out the fire hounds, but do it quietly so the alarms won't be set off" robin says as we all agreed before splitting up.

We all quickly moved through the shadows staying out of visual silently taking down all the hounds. Once that was done robin still was trying to preach through their defense system. Noticing that he was getting nowhere robin realized something wasn't right as he turns only to get grabbed by Sabertooth and lifted off the ground.

" Well well what do we have here" Sabertooth grin.

Robin growls dropping a flare grenade on the ground as it exploded out blinding light in the area and he kicks Sabertooth in the stomach rolling backwards. Once he dropped down he covered his eyes disappearing into the shadows. Sabertooth gritted his teeth looking around for robin as he started throwing rocks and boulders.

" come out you coward!" He snarls.

Elsewhere me and the others were trying to figure out a way to get into the building without setting off the alarms when I heard a loud scream, but from inside my head.

" Ah! Agh!" I groan holding my head.

" what's wrong?" Aqualad ask.

" It's Madelyn! She's hurt! I have to get inside and help her"

Just when I said that bane comes rushing head first at us from behind knocking all of us over. He laughed as he pumped his green serum into his body causing him to grow more muscles and expand his size.

" Ugh! We don't have time for this!" I say as raven, beastboy and aqualad stood in front of me.

" Go! You and kid flash find a way into the building and help the others. We can handle this!" Aqualad says.

Me and flash rushed searching the areas for anything that could help with finding a way in. Soon after we discovered that there was an underground entrance.

" The markings in the ground suggest that it's been opened almost like it's a secret passageway." Kid flash says rubbing the spots on the ground.

" Right! So there has to be a switch or button somewhere here"

We searched around looking for anything that was unusual as we stumbled upon a strange deformed boulder. Curious of what exactly about it triggered the entrance, me and kid flash tried moving it as it seemed completely stuck in the ground.

" This isn't right"

" your right I wonder how we get it open if it's not a moving boulder" Kid flash responses leading back on the boulder as the centerpiece pushes in.

The ground started to break apart opening up an entrance passageway underground. Me and kid flash was shocked at what we discovered being the passageway went down almost twenty feet underground.

" whoa! That's a deep drop" Kid flash says.

" It's our only way in without being spotted. Come on!"

Once we got down below we realized that it just wasn't a passageway, but an underground tunnel beneath the city. There were multiple tunnel paths going in different directions. It was like a maze and now we had to find our way through the path that leads to the inside of the hideout. I stopped in my tracks for a moment, turning to see kid flash pressing his hand against the wall, focusing on the sounds and vibrations above.

" What do you hear?"

" Chains...or maybe it's shackles?" He response.

" which way? It must be where they are holding vanity and the kids"

He points ahead as I tell him to lead the way. We followed the path up and around which lead us to an open crystal mine area. When we got to the end of the tunnel we found a ladder leading up to a hatch. I go up first as kid flash follow and when we got to the top I broke the lock on the hatch opening it climbing up through the floor. Looking around I noticed it was the room i was held at when I was captured. I turn to see vanity out cold chained down with needles in her arms hooked to a machine. I got closer to see a face mask wrapped around her mouth to keep her from breathing. I rush over kneeling down taking the needles out of her arms as I carefully broke the mask off her face.

" Vanity! Are you ok!? Come on wake up!"

Vanity slowly starts to come to as she seemed delusional at first until she realized I was really in front of her.

" A-Alaska!?...what are you doing here?" Vanity ask.

" I told you I would come back for you." I say cupping her face in my hands.

" N-no! You have to go! You shouldn't have came back! It's not safe" She says panicking.

" You know I can't do that. Just calm down, I'm going to get you out of here along with the others."

" Others?! N-no it was only supposed to be you." She says confused as in that moment a loud explosion set off outside the base.

" Uh guys I think we should g-" Kid flash mutters.

Before anyone could say anything kid flash got shot with a dart going down as joker came out from the shadow.

" Alaska I'm sorry! It wasn't supposed to be like this. I didn't want for them to get put in the middle. " vanity says.

As I turn to see joker coming from the shadow. I start trembling a little as I was confused about what was going on until I turned back to vanity.

" You set this up?! You lied to me!"

I press the button on the device in my ear as I tried to communicate with the others to warn them it was a trap and not to engage.

" No I didn't! I promise you, Alaska I didn't mean for it to happen like this. There was more to his plan than I thought. They weren't supposed to get involved." She explains as Alaska balls her fist.

" Hurts that those you think you can become close with and help turn against you huh?" Joker laughs.

Without a moment of hesitation I turn punching joker so hard I sent him flying back slamming against the wall collapsing on the ground. I gritted my teeth thinking of what was to come.

" Alaska please. You have to let me out." She begs.

" Why!? Why should I?"

" Because I'm the only one who knows where he is holding those kids and you need my help..." she explains.

I look away for a moment not responding as I stared at the ground.

" Alaska please! Ah!-" she says before groaning in pain as the collar around her neck started to burn on her skin.

I walk over breaking the chains off of her and disarming the collar around her neck as I helped her up. I walk over shaking kid flash a bit as he slowly started to wake up.

" Uh! What happened?" He asked.

" Don't worry your fine now, but we have to go get the others out of here."

As she slowly regained her control over her breathing she took my hand and used her phasing ability to get us out of the room into the hallway.

"Flash go warn the others of what's happening. I'll find the kids."

" Right! Be careful" he says before zooming off.

" Last time I overheard him say he was holding the kids in a secret room somewhere towards the back of the hide out. The thing is only Invictus has access to that part." Vanity explains to me.

" Can't you just phase through the doors and walls?" I ask.

She shakes her head no explaining that Invictus keeps the area heavily secured and guarded.

" Well then guess we have to find him first. Come on"

" Alaska Wait! You can't just go at him all raged out. You will lose like that. Invictus isn't someone to take likely" she says looking at me.

" Then I won't hold back. He is going to pay for what he's done and if he dare lay a figure on those kids I'm going to break him in half!"

Vanity slowly starts to become fearful as she looked into my eyes seeing that I wasn't the same anymore. She doesn't say anything more as she guided me to the hang out area of the liar over to the room that all the computers and stuff was at. Once inside I walked over searching through the security footage trying to figure out where Invictus was hiding Madelyn. Just as she was starting to crack the codes and locks the entire thing shuts down. Alarms start to go off as giant red alerts popped up all over the screens in the room.

" what's going on?!"

" I don't know someone must have set the alarms off in the building, but that means that they know what we're trying to do." Vanity says before quickly grabbing me blending in with the dark part of the room.

Invictus kicks the door in as his whole body was on fire and he seemed extremely mad. Vanity covered my mouth with her hand holding me closer to her as Invictus was slowly starting to walk in when a loud bang came from a different area of the hideout. Once he was gone she let me go and I went after him bursting out the room down the hall slamming him into the ground. I started to best and pumble him out of rage as my eyes started glowing.

~Vanity POV~

I didn't know what to say nor do being I had just turned my back on the one person who saw through me. Even though we hadn't talked for a long while she was locked up Alaska still managed to see through me. See through the part of me that was all coated and blocked off. It was my idea for Invictus to go into the city and make a mess stating live on television that he would have killed me if she didn't show up, but I had no idea that he had got the kids involved until afterwards. I had overheard talking more in-depth about what his true plan was. Invictus wasn't just looking to exposed the heroes, but he wouldn't all of them dead. He wanted to make sure no one was left to be able to get in his way and turn the entire planet into his castle and land.

I wasn't for what Invictus was seeking out being there would be nothing in it for me, but also at the fact that I never wanted to intentionally hurt others that wasn't involved in the situation. I don't believe that innocent people should suffer for one's crime and or wrong doing. I couldn't help, but feel like I betrayed Alaska. The plan was just to use her as bait, but seeing her beaten up and tortured I couldn't do it anymore, so I let her go. Now the only way I knew I could make things right is if I was the one to take Invictus down and safe the kids before anything else could get out of hand.

As I watched Alaska and Invictus go at it I noticed on a screen footage that the titans were being overpowered by enchantress, bane and Sabertooth so I rushed off to help them leaving behind a clone of myself to stay and aid Alaska. Rushing off down the hallway changing my physical form into my shadow form I was stopped by poison ivy.

" What do you think your doing missy?" She asked as I stayed silent.

"Nothing to say huh? Don't blame you cause once Invictus is done with Alaska your next, but why wait I can finish you now!" She continues on summon her plant from underneath me.

I jumped from one end to another dodging the plants laying them go straight through my body unable to get a grasp on me. As I charged forward at position ivy she blew her poison powder out at me as it disassembled my shadow form causing me to stumble back. She smirked wrapping me up in vines as she walked closer giggling.

" Bore thing." She whispers before reaching her hand back rising a giant man eating plant as I closed my eyes bracing myself as I hear someone say a spell and then an explosion.

When I opened my eyes I saw the girl in the purple cloak standing before me as poison ivy was knocked out and all her plants dropped dead. The girl cut me out of the vines asking what I was doing and I told her everything that I had learned from ease-dropping on his conversations.

" If you really telling the truth then I guess I don't have a choice. We don't have a lot of time we got to help the others." Raven says.

I nod as me and raven swarm through the cameras undetected joining in on the fight starting with helping Starfire with enchantress. As enchantress was summoning her demonic minions on Starfire and raven, I snuck up from behind enclosing her in a shadow ball where she wasn't able to use her magic to escape.

Next I went over to aqualad and kid flash trying to take out bane, but he had got to big and strong. I returned to my normal state shooting my ice shards out at him drawing his attention away.

" What you are doing helping us? Aren't you on their side too?" Aqualad ask.

" We don't have time for that we need to stop Sabertooth." Raven says as aqualad used his atlantean strength to punch Sabertooth through the painting on the wall into the next room knocking him out.

Finally me and the others went to help robin and beast boy fight Bane. Robin was holding his side while beast boy had changed into a tiger to fight Bane off. Kid flash speeded over knocking Bane back as beast boy changed into a gorilla punching Bane through the statues in the hall around us. Next aqualad used his aqua weapons to cut into Bane cord containing the venom and raven used her magic to launch him into the air as robin throw his birder rangs up denoting then exploding onto Bane's back. Once he finally touched back down to the ground I used my dark and ice powers to create a vortex around him making him see nothing both darkness as the ice shards shot out cutting and driving into his skin knocking him.

" Great work titans! And you?!... why did you help us?" Robin days before turning to me.

" Because all of this was my fault and it was the only way to make things right."

At that moment Alaska was launched through the walls of the building as she went slamming into the wall causing the chandeliers from above to crack and began to fall crashing down on her. My eyes widened as I turn to see Invictus, but something was discreet about him. His body was still on fire, but the flames around him were beginning to turn black and the red parts turned blue. Me and the others look at in shock as we didn't know what he was trying to do.

" You really think you can stop me! Nun of you can! I am immortal!" He says laughing as joker came out the shadows launching electrified nets over everyone of the titans causing them to drop to their knees only thing was robin managed to get out of the net and so did raven.

" Gotcha ya! Ha!Ha!Ha!" Joker says laughing as he drops the cannon falling backwards passing out.

I grit my teeth as I heard Alaska slowly regaining consciousness as she got up from the fallen ruins on her.

" why are you doing this!?" I shout at him as he grinned.

" You could've been my right hand! But yet you switched sides and you brought these maggots into my lair, so now you will pay dearly for your actions! And to be sure you do I will start with her!" He says readying his next attack aimed at Alaska.

"No!" I shout pleading as I tried my best to move as fast as I could toward Alaska changing forms in the process encasing my body in ice.

" Raven get the others out of the building before he blows the place up. He's too unstable" robin says as raven followed his orders getting the rest of the titans out of the liar.

Robin swings over trying to time things right as he shot out his bat claw onto the ceiling swinging to grab vanity and Alaska out of the way of fire.

~Madelyn POV~

I didn't know what was happening nor did I know what was going on, but I know for a fact Alaska was here. I could feel her presence even with the lack of hydration and nutrition it didn't affect any of my senses. I could hear the sound from the fight and also feel the vibration of bodies collapsing against walls and explosions going off all around. I tried to use the strength I had to break through the chains that was holding me up against the wall, but nothing worked. I couldn't scream or call out for help being my mouth was too dry and my head was spinning.

I could hear the sound of Sebastian being held somewhere close by the sound of him groaning in anger struggling to get out echoed through the tunnel pathways. It was clever of them to lock us underground beneath the liar, but wasn't so smart after a while being the walls reflected light rays. I struggled to pull on the chains to lift my chest up letting the necklace make contact with little bit of sun that was seeping through the walls. The necklace gave off a rainbow ray of light that bounced over the walls into the pathway. Hoping that someone would see the light I tried to hold my body weight up a little longer, but couldn't. After a moment of heavy breathing I heard the sound of a door or hatch being opened. Part of me wanted to jitter for joy in hopes it was Alaska, but another part of me felt the opposite about it.

As I prepared myself for the worst to come through the door it was quite the opposite after all. I look up to see the girl that was being held hostage come in asking if I was ok as she was trying to find a way to break the chains.

" Y-you a-are that g-girl" I mutter out as she told me the be quite before someone else comes down to find us.

I stayed silently as she managed to break the chains off with a pole and she caught me in her arms and laid me down breaking the chains around my feet.

" where is the other one?" She asked as I point to the hallway.

Once we got to the hallway she clearly heard the sound of Sebastian struggling to get loose as he still was going at it. She laid me back down rushing over around the corner to where Sebastian was being held. I could barely move as I couldn't keep my eyes fully open. Going In and out I see the girl storming back with Sebastian with her. They both help me up going back through the passageways to the surface. When we go back up to land another explosion was set off inside the liar. Before we could react or get to cover we saw Alaska and Robin get blasted out the lair windows laying in the rocky field as Invictus and vanity was going at it with each other.

" A-Alaska..." I mumbled.

" Wait if your here then how are you over there" Sebastian asked the girl as she explained she was just a shadow clone of the real one.

At that point she turned back to smoke vanishing when the real vanity got launched through some trees landing in a pit nearby. I groan feeling the cuts on my arms throb. I looked at Sebastian as he sighed letting me go.

" You can't be thinking what I think you are" he says as I nodded.

" we have to help them Sebastian they've come this far just to save us, so we have to return the favor." I say to him.

" You can barely keep your balance Madelyn why good are you going to do?" He ask as I shrug.

" whatever I can. We have to get to Alaska before he catches us" I said as he opened a portal getting us close to where Alaska had landed.

We searched around soon finding her in a big crate in the ground as I rushed over sliding down to her.

" Alaska! Alaska!" I yelled as she wasn't responding.

" come on you gotta wake up" I continued on slightly tearing up.

Sebastian walks over checking on robin as he seemed to be perfectly fine just got hit pretty hard from the impact of the attack. At that point Sebastian turns to see Invictus fly over to where Vanity was and he quickly opened a portal going over to help her.

~Sebastian POV~

As much as I didn't like the idea madelyn was right. Alaska has gone out of her way once again for us so I couldn't leave her hanging. As for the one who set the whole thing up I still was reluctant to give her hand, but decide to anyway. Once I got over to her I tried to wake her up, but she wasn't responding either. I picked her up carrying her over behind a boulder once I felt Invictus getting closer. I was starting to panic not knowing what to do as I covered her in a magical protection spell. I jump from behind the boulder as Invictus landed noticing vanity body gone.

" Tell me boy where is she?" He says walking toward me.

" I don't know, but even if I didn't I wouldn't tell you!" I say looking over to see if she was woke yet, but she wasn't.

Invictus laugh before shooting fireballs out at me leaving me to dodge them by rolling behind a boulder for cover. I used my magic to try and enclose him into a fireproof bubble as I had to conjure up power from the earth itself in order to do it. Just as I thought I had him enclosed he used his extreme heat temperature to break the barrier. As I fall backwards stumbling Invictus slowly started to walk toward me as I backed away quickly. Before he could reach out to grab me Alaska came rushing at him from the sky tackling him through a giant boulder cracking it in half.

She punches him out into the sky flying up grabbing and tossing him down to the ground before speeding down crashing into the ground. Once the smoke cleared I could see Alaska being raised off the ground by Invictus who was smirking evilly.

" You can't stop me! It's hopeless" he said as Madelyn came rushing down from the sky slamming into Invictus making him relinquish Alaska as I rushed over to her.

" Are you ok?" I ask as she was coughing for a moment then looking up at me.

" Yeah I'm fine" she responded getting up slowly just barely able to stand and I could see the burning marks on her body where her old wounds were at.

" You don't look alright" I say rubbing her arm as she reassured me she was.

" I'm fine. Where is vanity?" She ask as I point over to the boulder she was behind.

~Madelyn POV~

Enraged at the fact that Invictus was the one who ordered those creeps to go after Alaska. The fact he captured me and my brother basically almost torturing us the way he did her burned my blood even more. The thought of him getting away with everything he has done so far has given me the strength to fight even with the pain that came. As I punched and kicked Invictus across the battlefield I never let up, I continued on. I kicked him in the chest sending him throw several trees punching him into the sky and then slamming him down back into the ground. I start to pumble him senseless smashing my fist into his skull.

" I won't let you hurt anyone else ever again!" I shout blasting him with the cosmic beams from my hands and eyes.

I grabbed him by the neck staring into his face before cocking my arm back sending him flying through a boulder into a large tree. As I tried to catch my breath I could hear the sound of him chuckling getting back up to his feet.

" No way!" I thought to myself trembling in fear.

" I told you! I'm immortal!" He shouts laughing before charging straight at me as I threw my arms up to guard myself.

Just as I was ready to impress the attack I heard the sound of something being cut off as I opened my eyes to see Raven stopping Invictus attack aimed at me. My eyes widened a bit as I smirked.

"Now!" She shouts as I jumped over her spinning forward drop kicking Invictus into the ground then throwing up as Raven launched him higher in the sky.

I watched as I saw in the distance Alaska girl flying over blasting Invictus with her energy beams. I flew up by her asking if she was ok and she told me she was. Getting too caught up in small talk Invictus emerged once again getting more angrier by the minute. Me and Alaska both fly side by side splitting apart blasting Invictus with our energy beams. We watched as he dropped down to the ground as I looked at her giggling. We both high five each other before hearing the sound of the earth cracking just to look down and see Invictus summoning all the fire from within and underneath him to the surface.

" Great. Just great. What now?" Raven ask soaring up to safer view.

" We have to keep attacking him at this rate the only thing he can do is burn out" Alaska say.

" Right, but what if he doesn't?"

" Well we're going to be in for a long fight" raven says as all three of us charge at Invictus.

Before we could even lay a finger on him, he disintegrated his cells disappear into particulars. We stopped in our tracks looking around the area for him.

" where did he go?" Raven asks.

" This isn't good" Alaska whispers as something knocked me to the ground hard then knocking both raven and Alaska through a boulder causing the entire thing to crumble.

Invictus reappeared putting his cellular structure back together.

" This is so rich. I can do this all day" Invictus laugh as I got back up.

" I won't let you!" I shout as my eyes glow and body had a cloak of energy building up area me.

Sebastian watched as vanity started to wake up. There was little to no options left for us so I took it upon myself to distract him so that Alaska could finish him off. Taking a step forward the ground nearly crumbled as I pushed forward running at him before soaring through punching Invictus in the face repeatedly before kicking him up in the air. Alaska comes up from behind him hitting him with a large tree dropping it before charging down like bullet at him crashing into the ground. I floated back down to the ground waiting for the smoke to clear I saw Alaska pumbling Invictus into the ruins. Just as she raised her fist one last time Invictus shot her in the chest with his heat vision knocking her back.

" You all are pathetic! And you call yourselves heroes!" He says laughing.

" Don't get to cocky jerk!"I say struggling to get up.

" Oh, but I'm not. In fact I'm going to show you how hopeless you are! I'll turn this entire planet into my kingdom!" Invictus says charging up all his flames and heat getting ready to blow.

" No!" I shout as everything around started to get pushed back by the force of his body temperature rising dramatically.

" We have to stop him!" I say as Sebastian tried to do a containment spell on Invictus but it didn't work.

" We have to do something!"

" There's nothing we can do! He's become way too unstable! Robin said this would happen!" Raven says trying to stand her ground against the friction in the air.

I looked back at Invictus as I refused to believe that this was the end. I managed to gain enough strength to push back against his body temperature increasing friction as I charged at him with all might.

" I won't let you hurt my friends any longer!" I shout as my body sparked as my cosmic energy started to flow from inside me.

Sebastian used one last spell with the help of raven to shield everyone else from the soon to be impact. I was getting closer to him I cocked my arm back punching Invictus's barrier soon breaking through as it ended in an explosion.

~Vanity POV~

As I slowly start to regain consciousness, I could hear the sound of explosions going off nearby and clashes raging on as tried to stand on my feet. Once I got up, I looked around to see everything burning around me. I trembled for a moment as I tried to move and noticed the big gash across my lower stomach was bleeding badly. I could see anything but the flames growing stronger as I could hear the sound of the fight, but didn't know from what direction it was coming from which struck fear into my heart.

I started to do the best I could to put the flames out with ice, but they had got too strong. I searched around for the others as all the smoke around was making the distance foggy. I started coughing as I saw a body laid out in the distance. As I got closer to it I realized that it was Alaska girl based on the green color of her cape. I rushed over to her sliding on my knees panicking as I started to shake her.

" Alaska!...Alaska!"

She wasn't responding as I looked up to see small walking towards us holding their arm as a moments passed it turned out to be Robin. Once he got closer he dropped to his knees in pain muttering to me:

" It's all your fault. You just had to turn your back on her" he says before completely falling over passing out.

The tears start to form rolling out my eyes as I looked down at Alaska girl holding her close to me. Just as I was grasping her in my arms more I saw raven get thrown through the flames slamming back against a giant rocky wall of a mountain. Next I see the little girl that was captured along with me get knocked across the ground as her brother rushed over to her not noticing I was there.

" Stay away from my sister!" The little boy said casting a spell around both him and the girl.

Invictus slowly emerged from the flames twice his original size as my eyes widened. He kneeled in front of them as he grabbed the boy by his neck slowly choking him. I stand to my feet shouting across the field:

" Put him down now!"

" Oh and if i don't? What can you possibly do to me?" He says chuckling.

I grit my teeth looking down at Alaska as I close my eyes shut feeling the rage in me build up. I took a deep breath then opened my eyes as they started to glow white.

" I'm going to end this!"

My body rapidly started to drop below zero degree temperatures and everything around slowly started to crack freezing in the process. My hair started to change from pink to white as several ice markings formed above my eyes, on each side of my face and my hands. All the fire that was spreading and bursting behind me slowly started to fade away as nothing, but ice and snow stormed down from my side of the sky.

" Impossible! Where are you getting this power from!?" Invictus says shocked as I took a step forward causing ice to strike from the ground knocking him back.

I paused for a moment looking at the markings on my hands and then down and a part of the ice that showed my reflection and I was astonished at the sight of my new look. I didn't know how or what I did, but I could feel the power inside me race surging through my blood. I knew that this was my opportunity to stop Invictus once and for all from hurting others. I started to hover off the ground as the storm raged on forming around me as a wall of protection. I waved my hand across my face as a bunch of ice shards sprung up from the ground and falling down from the sky landing around Invictus trapping him in a pillar cage.

" You can't stop me! I'm immortal!" Invictus says as I balled my hand into a fist breaking the ice around him aiming driving it at him like bullets cutting and breaking against his heated skin.

As I watched the ice slowly cool him off his blue flames slowly started to fade making him numb. I could see the fear grow in his eyes as he witness me without effort take him down to his knees.

" What's wrong Vic? Getting scared?" I ask smirking as he growled in anger roaring creating a shockwave of fire to burst from his body somewhat pushing me back but I block most of it with my storm wall.

I turn seeing raven fly over asking if I need her assistance as I nod.

" Try to contain him. If his temperature gets too high again he could store enough power to take out the whole area and possibility the city along with us"

" And what about you?" Raven asked as I took a deep breath.

" I'm going to try and stop the fire from spreading while distracting him so that we can find an opening to attack him when he's weak"

Raven nodded as her eyes turned red and she used her magic energy to try and encase Invictus into a large containment ball. I ascended higher into the sky as I used my snowstorm to start putting larger parts of the fire out so that it wouldn't spread back to the city nor small towns nearby. Once I made sure all the fire was put out, I turned my attention to Invictus. Over by the boulders robin and Madelyn slowly started to wake as Sebastian was watching over there.

" Uh! My head what happened?" Madelyn says as Sebastian explained everything that has happened up till now to the both of them.

"That's insane! I told them that this would happen!" Robin says as Madelyn asked where Alaska girl was and Sebastian pointed out into the field.

" I'm going to get her" Madelyn said as Sebastian stopped her.

" It's too dangerous! We have to stay here till raven and the other girl gets back." He says as I snarled brushing him aside.

" robin you coming?" Madelyn asked as he nods.

" If ravens still out there then of course" he responds as she picked him up by the collar flying off into the smoke to find Alaska and then help in on the fight.

~Alaska POV~

Things had quickly started to get out of control and the worst part about it robin warned me it would come to this, but I didn't listen. I couldn't feel anything nor hear anything that was going on around me. I felt like my body was flying in an alternate dimension. Almost like I was stuck in a loop and I couldn't get out. I started to see a ray of light spark dancing in front of me. On the other side of the light I could see Madelyn and robin standing above me asking if I was alright. I started to awake as I analyzed the area around me as it everything was burned down. From the trees to the grass it all was turned to nothing but ash and ruins.

I stand to my feet still not fully aware of what happened, but I knew that this fight wasn't over. I turn to see the sky was fully dark and a snow storm was raging I didn't understand what was happening until I saw vanity floating in the air only a distance away.

"Vanity?" I whisper under my breath as I couldn't believe that she was letting off so much power to the point she completely changed the weather.

" Alaska we have to go help raven and that girl! We have to end this now before things become unchangeable" Madelyn says as I nodded.

Me, Madelyn, robin and Sebastian went over to join in on the fight as we witnessed vanity and raven go toe to toe with Invictus in his purest state: Magma.

Once we got to the scene of the fight vanity and raven got blown back landing in front of us.

" What do we need to do to stop this guy!?" Madelyn yells as Raven and vanity get up.

" Our best hope is cooling him off completely then when he's weak cutting off his heat circulation to the rest of his body." Robin says stepping forward.

"Robins right" Raven says as me and the others stand our ground preparing for Invictus next move.

Emerging from the smoke Invictus had grew once again in size and mass as we waited for the right moment to strike. We all braces ourselves dodging everyone of Invictus fire blasts and rock throws until he left his self wide up. As he reached to pick up a massive boulder he raised the boulder over his head ready to slam it down on the titans as robin gave the signal.

" Now titans go!" He yells as me, Raven, vanity and Madelyn all fired right for the center of Invictus chest forcing him to drop the boulder on himself. Vanity started to rain down ice shards from above on him slowly cooling off his extremely hot temperature. I flew up to the sky using my ice breathe to freeze the core inside his chest causing it to overload and start to burst.

" Now Sebastian used the containment spell" Madelyn shouts as he focused all his magical energy into creating a barrier around Invictus.

After seconds of watching his body start to be encased in ice completely Invictus physical structure started to shatter and break exploding inside the ice scattering his pieces across the field. Watching closely the fight was finally over and we had won, we had finally took down Invictus after everything he and his crew has done. Raven and the others sighed in relief as I walked over to Madelyn and Sebastian.

" You two ok?" I asked as they both nod.

" Yeah we're fine. Thanks again Alaska girl" Sebastian says.

Madelyn didn't say much of anything as she seemed to be overwhelmed with joy and relief jumping straight at me for a hug. I hugged her back tightly as I could hear her starting to tear up.

" I'm so glad you're alright." She whispered as I smiled.

" I'm glad you two are as well. Next time I tell you to run you should just listen" I responded giggling as I paused looking over at raven and robin who seemed to be starting over at Vanity.

I sighed slowly walking over to them as they suggested I went and spoke to her being that she was a big reason to why we were even able to beat Invictus. I took their advice walking over to her as she beat me to the first word.

" Alaska I know I messed up. I know that I lied to you and that I basically risked you and all of your friends life's....I'm sorry" she says looking down at the ground with her back turned to me.

" You did a good job. Handling yourself against Invictus. You showed today that you are strong and that you do have power over who you want to be. Which doesn't have to be a bad guy."

As I tried to comfort her she started to tear up turning pulling me into a hug as she trembled in my arms.

" I'm sorry!" She cried.

" it's ok. It's all over now" I whisper softly to her hugging her back.

Before I could offer that we took her back to the tower to rest she backed away slowly explaining that she couldn't stay in the city anymore. She turned starting to fly off before she lost consciousness dropping from the sky as I jumped forward catching her.

"We have to take her back" I say as robin walked over nodding telling the twins that they could come back as well.

" We need to pick up the other titans, then we can head back" robin says as we all made it back to the jet.

" What about the joker and the others" I ask as robin said he alerted Vita city police department of the liar location and security codes.

Once we found the other titans and made it back to the tower robin and raven got everyone back to their units. He also made space in two extra units for vanity and the twins. The twins thanked robin for everything he had done and went to bed for the night as I carried Vanity to her unit laying her across the bed. I stroked her cheek softly seeing the cuts and bruises over her arms and face. I walked back to the front of the tower where robin was.

" Shouldn't you be getting some rest?" He asked as I slightly chuckled.

" I could be asking you the same thing."

" We barely made it out of there alive today. I nearly let my team down and everyone else." Robin sighs.

" That's not true robin. It wasn't your fault. It's because of your thinking that we made it out. You and Raven."

He smirk looking back at me.

" That girl Vanity is something else. She would be a great addition to the team with the abilities she is capable of" he says as I looked down.

" Yeah. Too bad she doesn't have any intentions of being one of us."

" She'll come around. Just give her time." He responses as I nod.

" I'm going to take the twins back home in the morning. Their parents must be worried after everything that's happened today."

" Good idea, but let me talk to them before you do." He suggest as I nod telling him goodnight as I went to my unit for the night.
