My name's Naighte Tereson. I'm a veteran at adventuring. People call me Naighte, pronounced "knight" or "night". Despite my name's pronunciation, I'm actually a mage. I use fire and leaves for my weapon.

I'll write about my adventure since somehow the book really made me intrigued to write something. It just appeared out of nowhere.

Last week, Professor Kyle told me that he had to do an experiment. His experiments are quite weird I'd say. Sometimes it gets dangerous and sometimes the result is random.

As I expected, Kyle called us. By "us" I mean me and Maverick, my knight I guess. Kyle said that we should bring him some dragon scale from the Adored Witch on top of the Mystic Haik Mountain. He said the name of the witch is Repha.

Maverick and I both agreed to fetch the scale the next day. So I went back to my house and played with my magic for a bit, at least until midnight when I slept. Maverick though, he searched the whole library to find info about Repha. He is sort of a bookworm.

I didn't care about the details. I just want to find some fun in fighting the witch. Also, I wanted to try my new spell.

So fast forward to the next day, we both met outside of town and walked our way to the mountain. I'll skip the boring details here and let's say that the walk took the whole day since when we arrived on the lowest part of the mountain, it was already night time. We slept for the knight and continued our trip the next morning.

On the way we met some villages and thick forests. The inhabitants of those villages were very nice and they gave us food.

So the whole morning was only for hiking the half of the mountain.

We rested in a village and continued our trip at the evening. Our trip was "great", no problems at all. The hike was sprinkled with some over powered monsters and thick fog and add some of those thick bushes that covered the whole forest. And let's not forget the best thing, the fear of getting lost inside it.

Ignoring my irony though, the people in the villages warned us about Repha's mind control. If we were to get lost, we might get ourselves trapped in Repha's control.

So then I thought

why get lost if I burn these greens to ashes?

I burned those leaves, bushes and those tree trunks to ashes. But in the process, I also did lure those monsters by the sudden magic burst.

The next thing that happened was giant wolf packs. These wolves had very sharp teeth so if we were to get bitten, these wolves would tear us apart. And these wolves also had venomized saliva. So basically we can't get close to them.

Maverick was shouting out his heart. He is basically the worst knight ever, actually he isn't even categorized as one. He is just a rogue with a sword.

I took initiative and used my "Fire Blast" to burn those wolves to ashes. They did die.

We continued our hike.

It's basically night time and finally we can see some of those stars. We ran towards the what seemed to be opening.

It was an opening since the whole area didn't have any bushes or trees.

We looked at the moon, I remembered it as a full moon. And finally the fog subsided.

To our front was a silhouette of human, or at least it was a humanlike being in my sight. A little girl, long hair, shorter than me.

I thought this girl was innocent, because behind her were 2 other silhouettes of human-like shape which looked a little taller than her.

I thought this was her parents so I shouted

"Hey!! Are you guys okay? Can you tell us where to find the Adored Witch, Repha?"

..

..

No replies.

Which was weird since people really like to talk a lot in this part of the mountain. So I was about to discuss our next plan with Maverick but when I glanced to my side, he was gone.

"Dude where did you go?"

I shouted.

Then I looked back to my front. I saw Maverick standing like a drunk man, smiling or smirking, looking at me. I would say that his look was as creepy as a ghost.

"Dude could you not do that?"

..

..

No replies.

"Dude stop that, you're creepin' me out, I'll light up our surroundings. Let's talk with those people behind you."

So I used fire to create a ring around the open area. The ring did light up the whole area but not the middle, which was where those silhouettes were.

This was weird since in a fire ring, no darkness should be present, even if the part is not near the fire. So I realized this was weird so I tried to get a closer look to see what's wrong. But then, I finally see it, her eyes were glowing red.

Come to think back of it, I think those silhouettes didn't have eyes until that moment, not sure though.

But back to the weird stuff. So I was definitely confused and creeped out by the girl. Then Maverick suddenly attacked me out of nowhere.

So remember that time I said that I used leaves? People think that I'm crazy for thinking that leaves are useful. But little do they know that I have a secret spell that I keep up my sleeves.

That moment when he attack me was the perfect time to show my spell. Many leaves from the trees behind me flew and blocked my sight of Maverick.

"IDIOT!!" people think, they don't know anything about me.

So Maverick landed his slash, but it didn't end up slicing me in half, instead it hit the leaf wall in front of me and stopped. The leaves stopped the sword on its track.

I said something along the lines of

"And that's my spell mates."

Hardening leaves.

Kay so let me make this quick, I burned Maverick's hands and made him snap out it. Power of my spells are immense mates, no one underestimate such power.

The next thing we did was try to look at the darkness inside the ring. But in a turn of events, the darkness cracked and burst, revealing its insides like an egg.

And believe me when I say don't make that happen again since that is the weirdest thing I've ever seen. What was revealed inside wasn't a purple haired-very-open-outfitted-trickster witch like a normal witch, moreover it wasn't even close!

If I were to ask someone

"Hey, can you guess what I saw under that crack of darkness?"

Not one person would answer it correctly.

As that darkness disappeared, I said to myself.

"Oh god Maverick don't fucking look at it, don't fucking look at it, shitshitshistshitSHIT!!"

You see, what I saw was the opposite of what I expected. Short-Flat-Cute-Adorable-Little girl wearing a cute outfit flying in the air looking straight at us. A total embodiment of a loli in real life.

Adored witch, Adorable witch, yeah that makes sense.

And you might be thinking "Well Naighte, why the heck did you not want Maverick to look at such an adorable witch?" And to that I say, "Maverick is a LOLICON"

Not one time have I ever seen him not hugging a cute little girl. He can't control himself when he sees one. It's just what I call "Lolita Hugger syndrome" which is not a real syndrome.

So back to the story, I looked at Maverick to make sure he wasn't looking..... but things were a little different.

"Dammit Maverick!"

He was already staring at the girl.

But wait, I thought Maverick had already read the the information on this witch, why would he look at her if he knew not to look at the cuteness of it?

Then Maverick looked at me with a creepy smile, he said something along the lines of

"Bro... Can we not kill this girl??"

I replied

"Mate we ain't gonna kill it. We're just gonna get one bit of her scale."

So let's just assume that Repha heard this. Because she suddenly turned into a dragon as I finished my sentence.

Who would guess that the girl would tranform into a big dragon?? But by big I mean like 5 times my size.

So it's finally time to use my fire skill "Fire Bless"

And so I shouted

"Fire bless."

Let's get all technical here, the spell "Fire bless" allows the user to become blessed by the fire. The bless depends on the user's hope. There are 3 blesses that can be given. One is fire transform which is going to transform the user into fire. The second one is Flame boost which boosts the magic of all the user's fire attacks. The last one is the one that rarely gets fullfilled, Flame Flesh which makes the user's body heated. This one is enough to either instantly burn any opponent or melt metal around the user.

So I hoped for fire transformation to search for the weak spot, which was granted. So let's simplify this and say, "I found the belly which is the weakest part of the dragon.".

Now, I did say I won't kill it, but just peeling of a scale from the dragon will make it hostile towards us, she's also a witch.

So weakening it will probably stop it from being hostile.

I told Maverick about the belly and he slashed the belly, or rather he slashed the belly then thrusted the sword inside halfway through the slash, making major bleeding for the witch-dragon hybrid.

So Maverick retreated and the witch turned back to the girl form. I won't say that this is a brutal scene, it's just a little girl bleeding with a sword pierced through her guts after all.

This witch was surprisingly no fun. After the sword pierce she just gave up. She told us that we can do anything with her.

I personally am not brutal and I don't encourage killing so killing the witch won't bring me satisfaction. Instead, we agreed to ask her in to our party.

Obviously that was better than getting killed so she accepted.

And that's how my story ends.

And about the dragon scale? She gave it to us.
