1 chapter 1: The Birthing

~murmurs of the place folk rippled through the throne room.~

"..I wonder how it's going..?"

"I hope the Queen is well.."

"ohh I'm excited to see the new heir to our kingdom!"

These were some of the many whispers and remarks that waved throughout the palace as the merfolk awaited the king and Queen. Today was a auspicious occasion as the Queen was in delivery of the new heir to the kingdom. It's been a long time waiting for all. The king gathers the kingdoms occupants and the awaited anxiously for the new arrival.

soon..the faint sounds of crying could be heard behind the giant sea green coral doors to the main chambers of the King and Queen. The merfolk rejoiced at the noise. But upon seeing the royal medic holding two bundles in faded pink silk, the once excited merfolk silenced immediately.

"Twins..but not any set of twins. .."

~the royal medic declared over the viewers~

"..these girls, are the rare mirror opposites. A dark Siren..and..a light Mermaid. Never has such a set been born in eons. This day can be called the Day of Joy..or the Day of The End. Only the future will tell us which."

The king held his daughters with a sad look. The Queen perished during the birth of the twins. So on that day..the king experienced his best and worst event in his long life.
