6 6. Blazing fire clan

The freshman's basic magic class quickly progressed. Under the pressure of the first examination, all the students quickly broke through the first bottleneck and already started gathering mana from the surroundings.

There was only a 2 weeks left before the first examinaion. Even the most talented of the class, Robert did not even manage to materialize a single wisps of mana.

"Don't be discouraged, you still have time, work hard." The professor encouraged all the time but many of the students were depressed by their current progress.

"Robert, you started trying to materialize mana first in the class, do you many success?" Oliver asked.

Robert shook his head dejectfully.

"If even you can't make it, what about the rest of us." Oliver sighed ruefully.

"And to think we wanted to hunt aliens immediately." Robert wanted laugh at their past self who wanted to hunt aliens the moment they arrived at the academy. "We wouldn't even be able beat a class E savage beast yet."

"Ahh, don't talk about savage beast. I'm reminded of the basic savage beast class, that class is even worse than history." Oliver cried. "Not to mention, the first examination also includes it."

Robert also sighed dejectedly. The first examination was getting close. They had to take for tests: A basic magic test, a history test, a beast identification test, a medicinal herbs identification test. Just thinking about the test, made Robert want to vomit in frustration.

"I couldn't believe I wanted to get into the S class. Just getting into the A class would be a dream." Oliver continued.

Just as Robert was lamenting over his fate, Nana and Emiliawalked past their lunch table. She apparently noticed him.

"Oh, aren't you the person I met in the freshman class?" Nana asked.

"Yes. Hello." Robert greeted, his heart thumping.

"Oh my god, oh my god!" He squealed like a little girl in his heart.

"Mind if we join?" Nana asked.

"Sure." Robert accepted happily.

"Robert, since when did you know a beauty?" Oliver whispered.

Robert stomped on Oliver's feat under the table.

"Ouch!" Oliver winced, then he noticed Emilia, " "Wait, aren't you the person who got kicked out basic magic class? Why haven't you been to any other classes?" Oliver asked.

Emilia replied with a blank look.

"Wait what?" Nana looked at Emilia sternly.

Emilia whispered something at Nana's ear.

"You brat!" Nana eyes immediately filled with fury.

"What? How are going to pass the examination?" Oliver asked.

Emilia returned with a mysterious smile.

"Senior, may I ask how you passed the first examination?" Oliver asked attempting to divert Nana's fury.

"Ohh! You guys must be having a headache because of the first examination." Nana giggled.

"Yes. How is it even possible to pass?" Oliver asked.

"Actually let me tell you secret. The basic magic examination is the most important part, as long as you pass that, even if you barely pass the other examinations, you can get to the A class. But you musn't fail anything, if you fail even a single exam, you will be dumped to the B class." Nana said in a hushed voice.

"Then, how do you get into the S class?" Robert asked.

Nana gasped, "How ambitious! Only 1 or 2 students in the level can get into the S class. To get into the S class, you need to ace the basic magic examination. But that is almost impossible, to ace it, you need to materialize a perfectly round mana ball and manipulate it perfectly. You also need to get at least 80 on the other tests."

"Looks like it's impossible." Oliver glanced at Robert.

"Don't worry too much. Those people in the S class are usually from the 10 great clans. The A class is not too bad either." Nana comforted.

"Senior, were you in the A class?" Robert asked.

Nana giggled. "Nana Milytel, from the blazing fire clan greets all of you."

A small smile crept to Emilia's face.

"Wait, you're from the one of the 10 great clans?" Oliver asked, his jaws nearly dropped to the ground.

Nana nodded.

"Does that mean, you're were in the S class?" Oliver asked. "Wait nevermind, that's a stupid question."

"Is Emilia also from the demonic fire clan?" Robert asked curiously.

Nana shook her head. "She's from....nevermind, you won't have heard of it."

"She's probably from some small clan." Robert guessed. "Amazing! Senior Nana is from one of the 10 great clans but she's friends with some with a small clan. How humble and kind!" Robert's impression of Nana increased once more.

"I must get into the S class!" Robert thought.
