5 Chapter 5 The Way Out

I open my eyes, slowly I put my hand in front of my face and my fingertips are red. I looked around the room and the white room wasn't white anymore. It was dark brownish-red scratches and tears all around me saying to myself what happened. I knew I wasn't thinking at all it was a figure that must've used his red eye on me again like my room. The nurse came and she opened my door. She said, "it's breakfast time. Head to the cafeteria following the blue arrows and -go to the cafeteria".

Upon arriving at the cafeteria I saw my friend, Wes. I was wondering why he was there. So I went up to him and asked him "how are you in here" He told me "well it's the morning so I decided to visit. Well for me I'm special at least everyone else will have to wait until lunch or I know the doctors and staff, so yeah it was nice seeing you so I gotta go." I saw another person sitting, a girl who looks crazy. This time with a brown cliché hairstyle pretty much, but she had a black choker on so I knew something was up. I got up from my seat after Wes left and walked up to her and said hi.

"Hi," She said quietly, "I can tell she's a shy person,", I told her my name is Mark, but I don't want to give her my real name afraid she might go and have fun with my name, anyways but she said, "Hi, Mark" again, quickly I asked her "what are you doing here you look normal."

She replied, "Well I was normal until I just saw a figure the next day my parents brought me here last time I ever saw him I figure."

I rudely interrupted her."Yes, I figure that I saw one too but mine had yellow and red eyes, golden, maroon."

"WOW," she said, "Mine too, have you talk to him lately I'm going to kill that figure."

"Yes, he gave me a key to what she said well a key to go to a different realm, portal, whatever, I haven't gone through yet but he did again"

"What do you mean."

"He used his red-eye and I blacked out. This time I tore up a room. It still hurts and you still look red but nurses didn't do anything about it so I had to cover it up with some sterile gloves."

Once breakfast was over, she gave me her name as Lily and we went off our separate ways until the next morning she did something very wrong I heard was he bit off someone's ear. I think it was a nurse and maybe a doctor but she came to me: "do you still have the key?" I replied yes I do.

"Tomorrow, I'm busting out of here, and I want you to use the key so I can escape this hell hole," she said with a gloomy face with red splats all over her white scrubs. The nurse came by with the straight jacket. You know a jacket that ties people up she wrapped her in there real quick right after she finished talking to me and throwing her into a wheelchair and wheeled her off. Dr. Ben walked quickly up to me saying, "Did she hurt you, are you okay, kid you tell me anything," like he's worried. Dr.Ben walked with the nurse who was the abductor and wheeled Lily off when I heard they locked her in one of the special rooms.

I walked past my room trying to find where her room was. I yelled out"Lily" I heard a response "over here mark" knowing Mark was in my name I feel really bad not telling her my real name, but Mark should do.

"Lily"

"Mark I'm in this room," She yelled.

The room that Lily was in was B-45.B-45 was two cells down from my room apparently.

"The guard has the key," Lily said "I want you to grab the key and help me get out of here."

"Okay, but we need distraction first."

"I can get the distraction. You just have to grab the key and hide it until the night."

"I'll try," I said worried but in my mind this is crazy.

"I believe in you...now, go get the key," Lilly said, making me feel better.

Lily made a loud screaming noise to alert the guard who was behind the door. The guard opened the door and yelled to stop all that racket, but Lily still screamed and screamed again. I ran through the hall past Dr. Ben's office beside the guard's office. I snuck behind regards to go to his desk and grab the key quickly as quietly as possible knowing that the guard was not that wise and he didn't really notice the keys were missing. The guard came back to his office and put on the megaphone. Said Doctor any doctor or nurse please come down and we got a screamer at B-45. The doctors came running upstairs like it was almost a herd of cattle just to see what's wrong. Lily stopped screaming at the point. I looked over to her window or she was sitting so calmly and quietly trying to look all cute for the doctors to make it look like she didn't do anything. I carefully walked back to my cell as soon as possible.

Night fell, we took our pills but I hid them underneath my tongue. Figures coming back again. This time he turns into a fox and Started to speak:

"I sense you want to escape," he laughed dramatically. And you want to take the girl to how interesting you remember how vulnerable the girl is. Leave the girl, use the key that I gave you" This time The key changed into a narrow cylinder key with the handle and the hole that was in the wall he told me to stick it in. I did, but I didn't twist the key. I am thinking about Lily. I said no I would not. He stared at me with one golden eye that started to shine bright yellow bright almost to show the room white became yellow. As he did that I saw a big ferocious beast can't even put my mind to it. I went to the corner of the room and just curled into a ball And I just stayed there doing nothing just scared.

The next morning I hoped the Corner of the floor was wet. The doors opened up. I walked up to Lily and I said "we have to get out of here."

"You were supposed to pick me up she said confusingly you had the keys we could have escaped."

"I know, but the Figure came."

"We can escape during lunch, and the wooden figure follows us then."

My sister came with Wes dressed up like a hipster in the 90s. Wes was wearing a different pair of Shades this time red glasses with a yellow lens that are almost like mirrors. I ran to my sister and gave her a big hug saying please help please get me out of here. My sister looked at me with very sad eyes.

"I'm sorry, but I can't help you," she said with gloom all in her voice.

Wes patted her back while turning around and walking away out the front door. I kneeled say "What is happening" I walk to living without a moment's notice

Lunch came and I saw Lily with her head down right next to her food in the cafeteria. I noticed that she didn't take any of the Caffeine pills that keep her awake because the doctors miss diagnosed her or something. I walked over to Lilly telling her about what just happened but then I realized that she was sleeping.

"Are you awake"

"Mmmm…" knowing that she was tired I told her to wake up. She turned over to open her eyes just noticing that her eyes were a very light brown.

"I have the key let's go," I said knowing that someone might catch us leaving

"Where to," she said with sleep in her eye.

" You know the place that I was talking about."

I pulled out the key. and slowly stuffing in the crack in the wall and I turned it. light-filled the crack in the shape of a door form. out of nowhere, the figure came everyone saw him except for the adults who weren't in the cafeteria. I closed my eyes this time as he let out a yellow glare. knowing that that's the fear eye, everyone in the room was screaming in agony. Lily decided to stare at the figure just to look at it. The figure didn't even speak. As I was closing my eyes I grabbed Lily by the wrist and we both walked through the portal around the same time. The portal closes. I looked behind me and there was a big tree in the shape of a door I looked up and those up leaves falling from the sky like fall colors but didn't look like fall it's not like a spring which falls coloring leaves

"That is weird". I said to Lily but Lily was shivering. I sat down right next to her and started to wait until the effects wore off.
