8 Chapter 7: Wrong

I stared with disgust and hatred at Hrydib, who was walking down the street with me.

It was bad enough that I had to go to a place like school and waste my valuable time, but I had spend it with a guy like this:

"Hey. The streets are so empty and clear! What a paradise!" Hrydib exclaimed as he strolled about a block away from me. His green, straight hair blowing in the wind, his sky blue eyes and childish face filled with the expression of fun and joy.

Well duh! This was the most dangerous time of the day! Nobody would be walking around unless they had a PoweMeasure of 7.5 and above, much less calmly admiring the scenery!

But it was probably thought that because he was with me, he wouldn't get hurt.

What a loser.

I peeked behind me.

Hrydib was lazily strolling behind me, his hands in his pockets, his hood was draped behind him.

Come to think of it, he's never taken off that hoodie. I wonder if he sleeps in it.

I would ask him myself... but I can't be bothered to.

Ugh... just looking at him makes me cringe with revulsion.

I flash-backed to the 'conversation' I had with John...

--

"You can't seriously be taking him— Whatever his name was—"

"His name is 'Hrydib'."

"Whatever kind of name he has... as another student, right master!?" I complained to him as we walked to our rooms, "He's so...!"

"I can, so I will." John casually answered back, "Just... live with the change for now... Trust me, he's a force to be reckoned with."

"I'm having a really hard time believing that someone freaking out over how bright the moon is, is a force to be reckoned with." I threw my hands up in frustration.

John sighed, "He has... his own issues. Please just don't underestimate him, treat him nicely too when you guys go to school."

"Why should I—" I paused and turned towards John, "Wait a second... did you just say 'when you guys go to school'?"

"Yep."

"You can't be serious!"

"As unfortunate as it sounds, it's true." He opened the door to his room. He turned back, "Goodnight. Remember to be nice to him tomorrow."

He shut the door.

--

And just like that, the conversation ended as soon as it began.

We were a few blocks away until school. Just gotta survive this torment until then...

"Ooo... is that a house fly?"

I groaned in frustration.

...

...

"Get me the usual." I snapped towards another random student, "I'll give you a generous two minutes ten seconds."

The student froze in shock, "W-What's the usu—"

"Did you just talk back to me?" I snapped towards him, my eyes piercing darkness and fear into his worthless heart.

The student yelped, and immediately darted towards the kitchen, feet barely touching the floor. The students who I did not pick either watched the student run off in sympathy, or breathe a sigh of relief that they were not chosen.

I leisurely walked towards classroom door in relief as well. I wasn't late for the first time in my life.

I didn't realize that I had reached school earlier than usual because I wanted to avoid the new guy that followed me.

But I should be rid of him now. The chances of him getting into the same class as me should be very lo—

I opened the classroom door.

"Hey Daniel! Wow! Didn't know you had such a comfortable place in class!" A guy wearing a hoodie lounged on my sofa as if he owned it.

He was in the same class as me.

Everyone in class looked like they were trying to get the hooded guy out of my seat, but immediately rushed to their seats when I came in, face palming themselves like 'We tried to tell you, you're dead now.'

Unfortunately, I couldn't kill him.

I would love to, but I had to respect my master's word.

But that doesn't mean I couldn't force him out of my seat.

"Get out of there." I raised my hands and blew a great force of wind at him.

The force should have been able the knock him out of the sofa, plus the students behind it.

But instead...

"Mmm... that's a nice breeze." He sat upright and spread his arms as if enjoying cool breeze on a hot summer day.

I blinked, stunned.

The rest of the students around also blinked. I could sense a feeling of doubt written on their faces.

I glared menacingly at all of them, the lights above began flickering. "What are you all looking at?!" I yelled.

They instantly looked away.

I stomped violently towards Hrydib, who still watched me with that innocent and ignorant expression in his eyes.

I stopped right in front of his face, glaring nuclear bombs at him, "Get out of my seat."

He looked a little disappointed, "Must I? You sofa is so big though—"

"Get. Out." I clenched my fists until my knuckles cracked. The scowl I gave him could probably make a grown man cry.

And yet...

"Hah..." He sighed sadly, "I guess that it is your seat. I'll go find one for myself."

I watched with immense shock and hatred as Hrydib waltzed over to an empty seat at the corner and sat down without a care in the world.

Because of his height, he could easily see the front.

But that wasn't what I was worried about.

This was wrong. WRONG. He should be trembling in fear, groveling at my feet for forgiveness. Then I would start beating him to a pulp.

That was how it goes. It was how it SHOULD go.

But still...

He continued to treat me as if I was one of his friends.

He continued to treat me as if I was another one of the lowly peasants in the room.

That was wrong.

So wrong.
