55 Love Advice At Its Finest

Meanwhile, in the Zenovia palace, the two princes were busy doing their own things. Michael held engagements, trying to be the best possible prince he could be while Adam had been trying to find out what had happened to that maid of his that had just suddenly disappeared a couple of months ago.

The other staff members consisting of the other maids and butlers were tight-lipped and didn't say a word to him about what they knew about where Emma had gone, mostly because they didn't want to face the wrath of the King of Zenovia, although the threats they had received from the First Prince of Zenovia was quite an ordeal.

With Adam in the dark of what had really happened to Emma, and Michael to busy to notice, Adam was forced to assume Emma was still ill, even though she had been ill for a suspiciously long time. If only he knew.

Since he and his brother wasn't informed of what exactly the ball they were attending the next very day was about, they didn't know they'd be meeting a very old...acquaintance of theirs.

Meanwhile, with Emma and Lily, their belongings had been packed at the backseat of one of Zenovia's royal limos, and they were seated at the middle section of the limo, chatting.

It had barely been a few hours before Emma had left James to return to the Zenovia palace, and she already started missing her boyfriend.

Lily, of course, knew this, so she decided to help. That was, after she saw Emma continuously look out the window with tears in her eyes, probably thinking about James.

"Em, have you told Aunt Chloe about James?" She asked curiously, wondering if her second motherly figure had found out about her daughter's current significant other who was the future heir to the Amaris throne.

Emma nodded.

"Of course. I tell her everything. She's excited to meet him tomorrow," Emma replied.

The two girls had remained the best of friends, even though

At that instant, Emma had a question to ask her best friend since she herself was curious.

"Lily, it's been months. It's sweet to see you worry about my matters, but you still haven't told me what you think of Connor," Emma persuaded.

Lily turned away to hide her blush.

"And what about Connor?" She asked as nonchalantly as she could.

Emma sighed.

She turned around, facing her best friend, taking her hands in her own.

"Lily, I want you to be completely honest with me. Do you have feelings for Connor, or do you not?" Emma asked.

Lily stared at her lap.

As much Lily wanted to lie her way out of it, she couldn't hold it any longer as she blurted out, "Yeah, I do."

Emma grinned, her previous worries gone with the wind.

"That's amazing!" She exclaimed.

"You and Connor are amazing together," she added.

Lily bit her lip, trying to stop the tears from pouring down.

"There's just one thing I haven't figured out yet," Lily admitted.

Emma furrowed her brows.

"And what is that?" She asked.

Lily sighed.

"I think he has someone else in mind. Someone that isn't me," she said.

Emma's jaw dropped.

She and James both knew that Connor clearly had feelings for Lily, as she did for him as well. She had always wondered why they never got together, and it seemed like she finally knew why. Of course, keeping her word, she couldn't possibly inform Lily of Connor's feelings, so she went for a different route.

"Lily, how do you know that?" Emma asked.

"It's because he always seems preoccupied whenever I'm around him. He's always looking at other girls, and maybe I'm being selfish, but I just wish he could pay attention to me," she said through tears.

Emma embraced Lily, knowing what she had to do.

"Connor, I'm sorry. But she's my best friend. I won't stand for her being hurt over this," Emma muttered under her breath.

"Lil. There's something I haven't told you," Emma told her best friend.

As the limo passed through the palace gates, Lily asked through tears, "And what is that you haven't told me?"

Emma looked around before she explained what was the truth.

"The truth might not be what you think, Lil. We haven't told you this since Connor forced us to keep it a secret, but he does care. Lily, it's been quite obvious he likes you. For one, I know for a fact that he's too embarrassed to look at you, so he looks away. Whenever he tries to talk to you, he can't do it without messing up his words. Lily, Connor does pay attention. I'm not one that's good with giving advice about love, but you two like each other. You're waiting for him to make a move, but who says you can't be the one to initiate it?" Emma said all in one go.

Lily wiped her tears ago before sniggering.

"When did my best friend become so wise when it came to love advice?" She asked as the limo pulled up to the palace lobby.

Emma smirked.

"Well. I'm not the best at it. But, if you want to talk, we can do it later. We wouldn't want to keep them waiting, do we?" Emma said, pointing out the window to show their families outside.

Lily's eyes lit up, tears no longer evident.

"Oh my god, you're right, we're finally back home!" She shouted excitedly as the limo's driver opened the door for them.

Emma smiled, straightening her dress one last time as she stepped out of the vehicle, ready to finally face society, starting with meeting the three people that's been with her throughout this whole entire journey.
