Leaving Home

In the next day

Ben walked in his son's room as he saw him turn his clothes and necessities into playing cards.

"I'm a bit envious of that ability of yours... If I had that, I wouldn't have to keep carrying logs back home" Ben commented in envious tone.

When Kaito heard that, he paused as he looked back and chuckled as he too finds this ability of his very useful.

"So... you're leaving without even taking any breakfast... are you that desperate to leave us behind" Ben stated as he looked at his son with a faked depressed look.

When Kaito heard that, he panicked as that wasn't really what he intended to do.

"Hahahah I'm just joking... I already knew why you wanted to leave immediately" Ben said as he smirked at his son.

"Hah~ dad, don't joke around like that" Kaito said as he sighed with a bitter smile.

"Well you better leave immediately before mom wakes up and force you to take a breakfast" Ben suggested.

The reason Kaito wanted to leave immediately isn't because his eager to explore... no he didn't want to linger here as he might hesitate and change his decision.

...

"Where will you go son?" Ben questioned.

"No idea... hmmm maybe I'll just go wherever the ocean takes me" Kaito replied in a nonchalant look.

"So you're just leaving it up to fate huh" Ben asked with a slight frown.

"Don't worry dad, I'll be fine" Kaito stated to reassure him.

"Hah~ oh right here's the thing that you asked to be made" Ben sighed as he handed him a paper bag.

'Oh is it finally done' Kaito thought as he opened and smile as he saw a white colored clothes with a monocle.

( N/A: it's pretty obvious what it is... its phantom kid outfit )

"I don't really know what you plan to do with that costume... but I hope you take care of it as your mother worked really hard in order to make that" Ben commented.

"Of course... and don't call it a costume, its more of a suit" Kaito said as he refuted him.

"Sure.. sure" Ben said as he rolled his eyes, at which Kaito popped a vein in his head when he heard that.

"W-well I'll be going now... please say goodbye to mother and tell her I'll miss her" Kaito said while trying to hide his sadness.

"Don't worry I will... well you better go now or else I'll call mother" Ben answered as he smiled caringly when he saw that he was hiding his sadness.

Kaito smiled bitterly as he saw his face which was clearly saying 'you can't hide anything in my eyes' and turned around and exited the house.

"Goodbye... " Kaito whispered as he took one last glanced and walked away.

...

"He's gone now Elena... you can come out" Ben stated as he turned around at a corner.

Elena came out with her eyes crying in tears as she glanced at the front door with a sad look.

Ben walked towards Elena as he embraces her and wiped her tears.

They were in silence for a while until the both of them finally calmed down.

"Honey~ how about... we finally start making another baby... wouldn't Kaito be surprised when he comes home knowing he has a sibling" Elena said with a bright smile as she couldn't help but imagine the look on Kaito's face when he saw his sibling.

Ben was dumbfounded as he looked at her wife's face with an excited look.

...

"Huh... so where do I go now, although I said to leave it up to fate... I don't exactly mean that" Kaito stated as he was lost in thought.

Grumble~ Grumble~

'Ugh... that's right I didn't eat breakfast, maybe I should have taken one... nah' Kaito thought as he rubbed his belly to alleviate his hunger.

"Oh my, are you hungry young Kaito? do you want to eat at our house " asked an elderly woman.

"Ah Mrs. Mars goodmorning but you don't have to as I'll be leaving this island right now" Kaito replied as he refused her offer.

"Oh my is that so... then I wish you good luck on your journey young Kaito" Mars said to encouraged him as she walked away

Kaito nodded in gratitude as he was about to walked towards the direction of the port.

"Ah that's right... if you are still hungry after leaving this island then maybe you can visit the famous Baratie as it's quite nearby" Mars suggested.

"Baratie...?" Kaito questioned as he turned around with a curious look.

"It's a famous restaurant that was created 10 years ago by a retired pirate, they say the meals there are quite delicious" Mars commented.

'Oh a restaurant that was build by a retired pirate... interesting' Kaito thought as he formed a smile.

"Then I'll keep that in mind Mrs. Mars" Kaito said as he nodded in thanks for the information.

"Then I wish you luck again young Kaito" Mars said in a warm smile as she walked away.

Kaito smiled as he walked towards the port.

...

In the port

Multiple fishing boats were seen parked while they were also a few large ships with people coming out, carrying some crates and luggages.

Kaito strolled around if he could find someone to ask him to take to this "Baratie" restaurant.

"Hey! is that you Kaito?" an adult man in a fisherman outfit asked.

"Hmm? Ah Mr. Roland goodmorning" Kaito turned around as he greeted him.

"What are you doing here?" Roland questioned as he untied the rope on the dock that was connected to his boat.

"Ah I'm here to find someone if they could take me to this famous restaurant that I heard" Kaito said as he scratched the back of his head.

"Oh are you talking about the Baratie hmm... if you want I can take you there" Roland suggested.

"Really is that alright with you? I heard that it was founded by a retired pirate" Kaito questioned.

"It's fine and I owe your father a favor... this could make it up to him... also you don't to worry about the "retired pirate" as I know the guy... he's a pretty nice dude" Roland said to reassured him.

"Well if you say so... I guess I won't be shameful then... I hope well have a fantastic cooperation" Kaito said as he put his hand forward for a handshake.

"Haha~ same to you as well kid" Roland replied as he shaked his hands.

'Baratie huh... I can't wait to see it' Kaito thought as he looked at the ever-expanding ocean.
