Chapter 2: Adoption & Missions

It has been almost a week since Azreal arrived at the orphanage. In this time, he learned the name of the woman was Lizzy Xing, and she has a quirk called parallel. It allows her to parallel process things around her, so essentially she can split her attention perfectly to keep track of the kids.

Azreal found that his documented age is unknown, but his birth month was put to be in September. The two forces have been strengthening his mind and body, but not to the point that it is to obvious. The most you could tell is that he is slightly heavier than a normal baby, and he has a certain look in his eyes that he is smarter than he looks.

Good news is that it is very likely for him to be adopted since he is good looking for a baby, with dirty blond hair, dark brown eyes, and just enough baby fat to up the cute factor.

Hoping to get adopted into a good family, so he won't have to deal with all the kids at the orphanage, Azreal kept track of the days for adoption. Today is one of them.

'Big smile and act cute.'

Azreal hearing the bell signalling the door has opened starts playing with a toy truck near him with a smile.

With the sounds of footsteps approaching came a deep voice obviously from an adult male, "...Young and quiet. Do you have a child like that?"

"There are many calm ones, but there is only one that is particularly more quiet than the rest." Lizzy answered.

It was at the moment that they entered the play room which was where most of the kids were playing. The man was pink every where including his hair, skin, and clothes. The woman with him, who I'm assuming to be his wife, just had long black hair with light brown eyes, had a bit of a bump in her midsection. Lizzy was in a light blue dress obvious that she was dressed up for adoption day.

"Azreal here, is the one I was talking about." Lizzy told them

Hearing her, the couple look at Azreal. Seeing his smiling face, they couldn't help to smile along with him. Getting a good impression right off the bat, increased the likelihood that the couple will adopt him.

"I think he likes you both." Lizzy told them seeing the smile Azreal gave them.

"We'll adopt him." The wife confidently decided.

The husband looked at his wife and replied to her, "We didn't even discu-"

A death stare that could scare an army to death was the only answer she gave him.

Next thing that I know, I'm adopted and know who wears the pants in the family. Why is it always the mom of the protagonist is the scary one, while the dad cowers?

I found that their names are Toko and Josei Ashido. So, I guess the bump in my new mom's belly is Mina.

I'm not sure how that'll work, since I was an only child in my past life, but there weren't quirks either. It seems this life is going to be big in new experiences. The weirdest thing was that I got an Alert on the mini system thing.

'WHAT?! What is this about God?'

[The Strength Force condenses muscles to give one incredible strength, while not making them a living musclized humanoid. And musclized is a word, or at least it is now. Anyway, the limitation is to help you seem more like a normal person until you can get better control, so no one thinks a child weighing more than an adult.]

'Ok, but wasn't this system supposed to help keep track of missions? I never knew that I had one.'

[Oh, that's because you never checked, duh.]

'I thought that there would be an alert or something'

[Again, you never asked for one, do you want to be alerted?]

'Yes.'

[I said asked, so...]

'...'

'Fine... Can you make it so I get alerted for the missions?'

[Of course I can, it's nice to help someone out.]

'...'

'Can you answer somethings about the mini system?'

[Sure, but know this is one of the few times that I can answer. So, most of the time we won't be able to communicate to much.]

'What am I able to get from the missions? Could I get one of those completed overpowered systems?'

[No, you can't get that from them. The 'mini system' can only give limitations and knowledge, while also serving as a method to communicate with each other. Do you have any other questions?]

'Just to clarify, the mini system can only give me the ability to limit my power and gain some knowledge?'

[Yep]

'Then what is the point of completing the missions?'

[It can give you knowledge of things that happen, of your abilities, and can limit your power if you ever need to. Say you get a major power boost, and you don't know how to control it, then you can limit part of it to slowly get use to it.]

'Ok, then it isn't the most useful, but it has it's moments'

[It is more useful than you realize, but that's all the time I have now. Bye!]

'Wait, what did you mean?'

'No response... Great... Looks like I'll have to rely on my own powers'

That was the last I heard from him/her. I'm not trying to assume their gender or anything, but if I had to guess, I'd say that their voice sounded more like a male's. I'll ask next time for a conclusive answer.

Now, I'm a bit over 2 years old and my sister, Mina, is about to turn 2 in a few months. The Sage Force is definitely useful. I can remember everything that happened in my past life including the few episodes of My Hero Academia that I watched. I didn't watch anything past the fight between All might and All for One. I only watched some of the episodes in the seasons due to how annoying I found Izuku Midoriya. I do remember the main things that happen, so I should be fine.

I don't plan to actively interfere with the plot, except for being in 1-A. If you know what is to happen in school, then use it, besides it won't be as boring as a normal school.

I plan on having fun in this life. I didn't get much in my last ones, due to my parents only giving me the most is time to watch movies or shows that aren't educational when I have some sort of accomplishment. The good news is that I was able to watch all of the marvel movies and some fan fictions of different things. Bad news was that I didn't have friends due to how I was years younger than my classmates and my parents didn't allow it with anyone they deemed 'not smart enough'. Well, in this life I won't learn a thing!

...Ok, maybe I'll learn somethings...

Back to my abilities, I am able to use The Strength Force to the point that I don't need the limiter. To take it off I needed to overpower the limit, which turned out was a hard thing to do. I guess trying to overpower a limiter set by god should be hard. I've got to say though, using gravity control to overpower a limit on gravity set by god was kind of cool, and the feeling of the limit being taken off, felt like I had chains that I never noticed being broken.

Talking about god, I need to check the mission thingy. I think I should come up with a nickname for it... I'll think of something later.
