2 Abnormality

Beyond teleported the team to level 101. They found themselves free falling from high above the clouds. There weren't  many clouds, so they ceased their opportunity to scout ahead. Every direction they looked they could see only water. No land. No icebergs. Only water.

In front of everyone appeared a text which said: Congratulations! Level up lvl 100 -> lvl 101.

"Deploying hovers", Saffi said.

 Soon after, she released a couple of balls which flew over to the others. The balls latched onto their legs and turned into boots. The boots helped them hover safely onto the surface of the water planet. It also let them walk on water as if they were walking on solid ground.

"Saffi analysis", said Nadeem.

"Planet consists only of water. No signs of living creatures. The mass of the planet is about 2 septillion kg  and there are 8 other planets in this solar system identical to this one."

"No living creature? So what?  We're facing an undead?", said Nadeem jokinly.

"Well even though they're dead, aren't they in some way alive?", asked Lucy.

"Aren't we getting side tracked right now? Come on. He wouldn't just put us here if there was nothing to fight against", Popo implied annoyed.

"It's Beyond. That's exactly what I would expect him to do", as he then laughed.

Lucy then punched Nadeem on his shoulders and told him to get serious. He immediately stopped and started searching with the others.

Five hours passed since the team first arrived here. No matter where they went. They never found anything except water. The team was exhausted and especially Lucy.

"I'm tired. I can't take it anymore! This is why I hate mythical bosses. Is it okay if I just use a sadsmile to know where it is?"

A sadsmile was a coin with which you could summon Beyond and ask for a wish. Not all wishes required only one sadsmile. For example if you were to wish to resurrect the dead you would need a couple of sadsmiles. Also the cost would very depending on how Beyond felt. Not because it took 100 sadsmiles for someone's wish does it mean that if someone else wished for the same thing it would cost 100 sadsmiles. Sadsmiles were very difficult to obtain. The easiest way to obtain them is if Beyond rewards you for an achievement and you asked for it. Sadsmiles were coins which were as black as Beyond was and on one side it had what seemed to be a smile and a frown on the other. Therefore the name sadsmiles.

"The sooner we get this over with, the better."

"Agreed."

Lucy took out one of the sadsmiles she had and flipped it. Usually when one flipped the coin Beyond would immediately appear out of nowhere. But he didn't show up this time, which in turn surprised them. Without a single second wasted they immediately got into formation and put their guard up. One thing every leveled knew, was that Beyond never answered when they were in battle. Meaning that they were already in battle, they just did not know it. But they still couldn't see anything around them. Nadeem then looked up to the sky.

"Saffi...scan the solar system itself", he asked slightly concerned.

The team immediately realised what he meant and looked up.

"Scanning...scanning...scanning complete. No signs of any living creature."

They were relieved. For a moment there, they thought they would have to face something bigger than a planet. But it also worried them, because they still had not found the enemy. The team then decided to take a break. Griffith pulled out his ale and started drinking. He offered the others some, but only Robin  and Saffi refused. Robin took out their empty bottle and pointed it towards Saffi. After Saffi noticed it, Robin then pointed to the water. Popo was watching them.

"Scanni…"

Popo finally knew what was going on and right before Saffi could finish her sentence he shouted:"Saffi rescan this planet. But this time, look for abnormalities."

When Popo said that they all looked down. They forgot that the planet consisted of water. So the boss could've been in the water all along.

"Scanning complete. Abnormality found."

"What is it?"

"Planets of this size, which consists of water only, usually have a core made out of a rare form of ice. This one does not. It has one made out of a rare metal I cannot identify."

In the Lygis everything existed. All the metals from earth, space, other galaxies and even other universes. Saffi had recorded them all in her database. So when the team heard that Saffi could not recognize this rare metal, they were dumbstruck.

"That's it. Nadeem time to portal it out of there. That's our enemy."

"Our foe is a metal ball?", asked Griffith with a confused face.

"Is that really the weirdest thing you've seen in the Lygis?", Lucy asked.

"Fair point."

Nadeem had the power to create portals. He could create different types of portals, but his most used were called 2D. Whenever he created two 2D's, anything that entered one, came out from the other and vice versa. He could create a portal anywhere he had previously been or had ever seen and remembered.

Nadeem then created the portals and brought whatever was at the planet's core to them. The leveled stood ready in their battle positions. Out of the 2D came out a lot of pressurized water and the metallic ball. The metallic ball now turned into what looked like a humanoid form of a kraken.

"Whoever dares to wake Poseidon, shall die a horrible death!", said Poseidon.

"Come on let's go", said Lucy while running towards Poseidon.

Immediately Popo stopped her by taking hold of her hand:"No! Wait!". He knew that she might have died then and there. You could hear his concern for her in his voice.

This wasn't the first time they faced danger. In the Lygis they faced life and death situations almost everyday. After all the Lygis is the home of the strongest. Everyone was confused when Popo stopped Lucy. They were a team for many years and knew each other very well.

"No time in waiting for him to completely wake up. Let's go!", said Griffith as he charged forward to Poseidon.

While charging towards Poseidon he brought his aura out to armor up. Griffith became an aura master, due to the teachings of his master, who also was an aura master. An aura master could bring their aura out. This aura reinforced their bodies which made them harder than you can imagine and if an aura master of Griffith's level were to punch even a planet, only marbles would remain.

Poseidon then lifted one of his tentacles and created a trident out of the water of the planet. When Griffith saw this he started laughing and charged even faster toward him.

"I once withstood a planet's explosion with my aura armor. What is a trident made out of water going to do?", boasted Griffith.

Right as he finished his sentence Poseidon's trident pierced his head. A variety of emotions started building up in Popo as Griffith's head landed right in front of him. Even though the team was in shock, this was not the first time a teammate had died in battle. They knew that if they lost focus now, they would end up dead too.
