"You— " Ava's eyes were wide. She looked up and let out a loud sigh. As much as she wanted to, she couldn't just curse Baba for her stupidity.

Baba told her about the relic that her family owned. She stole it and gave it to Matthew's mother hoping that it would protect her from the curse and poison that the witches had been giving her. As a result, she got pregnant, and then there was Matthew.

"I don't know what to say," Ava said. And Baba nodded in response.

"You are not supposed to be here," Baba got up and grabbed one herb in front of her. Then she calmly processed it so it can easily be used in case she wanted to create some concoctions.

"You gave her a demon's relic?" Ava asked. She wanted to confirm if she heard the right thing.
