"I'm awake and standing on my own two feet, can you not see? Everyone's recent concern for me makes me cringe. Everyone but Ophelia. She's really adorable." Nikolai stated, adjusting the high collar on his shirt and gazing in the tall mirror. "Plus, I didn't tell Pain to give me a lot of energy. He needs to shield me from harm in case something happens."

Rhaziel arched his eyebrows. "How come you say that?" 

Nikolai gathered the cloak and donned it. "I came upon the dragon just before we left the castle. He is under a spell, and I believe it is a component of the one Tiana put on him. This one stands out and is more sinister."
