A Trembling Sigh

The silence was loud.

Ahzure quietly stared at the blood on his fingers, placing another hand over his mouth. His white robes now carried a large stain.

Aesther was petrified where she stood.

Her bones were cold and numb, her heart drowned as an all-consuming loathing suffocated her. She had lived through Ezrahl's nightmares too many times to see them unfurling once again.

It was a struggle to rush towards Ahzure when she knew she could do nothing for him. But as soon as she knelt beside him, she noticed the nauseating stains of to blood on his clothes.

'What the hell exactly happened?'

Ahzure softly murmured, he was no longer bleeding but his face was already pale from blood loss.

"It's okay…"

But for Aesther, the horrors of her past life gnawed against her insides. He had already died once. How could she bear to see him get hurt like this?
