26 TWENTY-FIVE: Future Premonition

ERICA

Five years has gone by and the disappearance of Manni still stirred in the heart of many Mafias'. The Aztec Family has been restless ever since the immortal Manni has gone for five years. If something can even harm the immortal Manni then it means doom for all of us who isn't immortal.

Chione, the goddess within me has been restless. At times I was even summoned to the Poseidon Lair by Chione. She looked tired and drained. She looks like she was about to die and it doesn't have any good meaning behind it. Every time she goes back to the lair she showed me a place just underneath the sea buried in the sands.

It was wonderful sight to see. A whole new world surrounded by ice. Everything was cold and empty but there it was a hall made of ice and we walked on it. There was only one trail and it lead to what it looks like a cave with a frozen bed in the middle of everything standing.

She usually goes in there to sleep for a few hours and I was to remained in the icy palace alone. Not that I mind this place somehow gives me more energy and power. It helps to subdue the monster sleeping inside of me. It's not a complete waste of my time. I can summon my sword and practice in there.

When Chione wakes up and brings me back to the mundane world Camila would always say that I have gotten even more beautiful that my eyes looked more alive and my complexion looked much smoother and healthier.

At times, I want to bring Camila to that icy world but no ordinary human can enter there. If they do either they will loose their insanity or will never live to see another day light.

I breathe in the air of my room. Although, my room is cold it isn't good enough as the icy palace. I don't know if it's bad but I get a little addicted being inside that palace. It brings me great relief.

However, I know that my days as a mafias' boss is coming to an end. I sighed and took a cigarette out of the box and placed it into my mouth. I lit the cigarette up and took out all of my stress into a smoke.

I can still remember how my nephew told me about his another premonition. "It was a blurry vision," he said. "But I can still make out images of who and who. I saw you holding that icy sword and killed Fay in cold blood. I saw you enter somewhere with Micah, but that is all I saw. Another part of the dream there is always something and someone in it that knows I am looking into the future and it always pulls me out before I can look deeper into the dream. Erica, whatever the scrolls of mother earth may be it is far stronger than we all can imagine."

I breathe out another smoke that took form in the air. Carlos his powers to predict the future has never failed him. The time where he saw Micah almost killed Fay happened and there was another time that I was just dancing at the palm of Micah hand also happened.

In these last few years, Carlos kept seeing the same premonition of Fay, Micah and me. The same blurry dream each time he closes his eyes. It actually pains me to see that Carlos is receiving this kind of dream. It's a terrifying gift for a nine year old to have.

I took a glance at Camila sleeping peacefully on the bed. Knowing through Carlos dream that I will harm Fay someday makes me shiver on the fact if I will ever harm Camila the same way I will do to Fay. I breathe out the last smoke of the cigarette and cease it on the plate.

I went over to Camila and sat beside her. I patted her head gently and laid a kiss on her forehead. She giggled at my touch through her sleep. I let out a soft chuckle at her attitude. She is just so adorable and sometimes I can find her sleep talking the cutest words.

No matter what Carlos future prediction will be I will defy the fates and I will change with my own hands. I won't let the fates decide my fate. I am the judge of my own destiny and I will change it even if it means I have to confront death.

Very slowly Camila head placed it on my lap, and I decided to stay in the bedroom for a while. I smile.

I will cherished the time I have left with the people I hold dear. A tear somehow drops out my eyes and fell onto Camila cheeks followed by another. To be honest, Carlos doesn't have to predict my own future since I have seeing them clearly in my own dreams every night. Either way, I know how everything is going to play out.

I clutched my hands into my fist and I slowly pull back to pillow for Camila sleep in without having her to wake up. I walked out of the bedroom and headed where Micah is.

The minute I saw Micah. I called her by ancient name, 'Hisa Kanae.' She looked back at me in shock.

"You remembered!" she asked.

"Of course," I replied. "After all we did sealed our promise with a kiss."
