The Unlucky One

"Brother Blood, based on the direction we are heading, we are currently on our way now to New Born Town."

The mage class who was a member in Luo Ming's party secretly sent a message to someone and it seems like this mage is reporting to someone as a subordinate.

"Good, okay team, stand on your positions and proceed as what we'd planned".

The berserker named Blood Lust commanded.

In the previous auction that happened not a long time ago in the Black River City, the capital of the Black Moon Kingdom, they lost a rare Gold Ranked Shield named Mirror Shield that was capable of blocking any attack and reflecting the damage dealt back to the attacker. Moreover, this skill was a passive skill with a cooldown of 60 seconds.

In other words, an MT named Soda had won the auction and had their team team provoked without Soda knowing. The MT in question just happily paid an enormous price not knowing that he already had been pitied by many players in the auction because of offending one of the top 10 squads in the Black Moon Kingdom.

Bloody Gore was the name of the squad led by the berserker named Blood Lust. And he was exactly pinning down the whereabouts of this MT so that's why he let two of his team joined Soda's party to let him know the information of his location.

Their first plan failed in having Soda's party be annihilated by having their party be in a forbidden map and be surrounded by high leveled monsters.

Soda has been tracked unbeknownst to him and the tracking skill used is somehow rare while having the player being tracked drop a specific item.

Meanwhile, in Luo Ming's party.

"I pity the the other players in this team Sis Snow."

Valira Fira sent a message to Aurora Snow through a private chat.

"Yes, however I am not quite sure in the odds of Bloody Gore's victory by adding the sudden appearance of this mysterious female berserker. I didn't thought that the first plan will not succeed."

Aurora Snow and Valira Fira biological sisters in real life. They despise people who are weak and incompetent. So that's why they are applying for Bloody Gore's squad to become a member to this powerful squad. Only by having success in this operation in pinning down the whereabouts of Soda and acquiring the Mirror Shield will have themselves pass the test and become official members of Bloody Gore squad.

Aurora Snow and Valira Fira's presence in Luo Ming's party seem idle because they don't want to linger for too long in a nameless party. For them, only the strong and the competent deserve their respect. Because they also pursue excellence in any virtual reality game they enter.

"Soda, how much exactly you spent to acquire that rare shield of yours?"

Luo Ming asked Soda while looking at Soda's shield.

"I spent 25000 gold and won this Mirror Shield in the auction after no one else competed to me anymore. Any way I had more money to spare if they fight my bid. And I really like this shield. It looks cool. I will really regret it if I will not have this shield."

Soda replied as he held his Mirror Shield proudly.

"Are you even maximizing the uses of your shield? I didn't even saw you facing the monsters earlier with your shield. You are the first one to run after seeing so many wolves earlier not even bothering to tank those monsters on our behalf."

Black Vendetta suddenly entered the conversation between the two.

"Sorry, I just got scared and don't know what to do."

Soda apologized

"Then why did you suggest to grind in Brownwood Forest? I thought you researched the map well before suggesting it to us so that's why I trusted you and led our team here."

Luo Ming asked again Soda who seem to be looking at the two mages in their team.

"Uhmm, I only suggested it because of the two other newly recruit mages."

Soda explained.

"So that's the case, anyways never ever do that thing again or else you'll compromise the safety and the development of our party. I hope you learned your lesson now. And please don't be so much full of yourself."

"Okay, commander I'm sorry."

Soda replied apologetically.

"Why are the other two members in our party didn't talk much?"

Lin Fei who was hearing the conversation of the party for the whole time suddenly asked.

"Ahh, those two are always like that since their joining in the party. They seem really quiet but I think they are somewhat capable players and I can feel it. I guess we should try to talk to them very often later."

While Luo Ming and the others were having a conversation as they make their way to New Born Town, a tall muscular man wielding a crimson red two-handed axe together with a handful number of players surrounded Luo Ming's party.

"You are quite lucky to survive in the Brownwood Forest Soda. But now, your luck ends here. I will retrieve the thing you had won in the auction that originally belongs to us if not for you interfering. If there is someone to blame, blame yourself in being unlucky."

Blood Lust said while having a maniacal laughter.
