1 Chapter 1: Remembrance

Emily Gui felt her head was about to fall off, confusion can be seen written on her face. Whose memories are these, she queried. 

She felt the pain again but this time it was all over her body, her body aches. She was inside a car, anyone could tell it was a terrible accident but these memories kept on flooding her mind.

A distant voice Yiyun! Yiyun!! Who are they calling?. I know that voice, that name it's mine.

She woke up again, this time with fire in her eyes. She struggled to move her legs, then slowly she reached out for the car door, it was jammed, she looked up and the car sunroof was open. Emily muttered, there seems to be a higher power that wants me to survive and take revenge on those vicious people. She crawled her way out slowly, her body still hurts, she bit down on her lips to remain conscious; she must leave here and get help. 

It felt like an eternity she limped and walked gradually on the road, no car in sight.

She was losing consciousness, she felt weak, soon she heard the sound of a car, she became desperate, she tried to call for help, her voice was gone, she stumbled and fell. Her eyes could barely stay open, she saw someone run towards her before completely closing her eyes. She is saved!

Peizhi Chen, you are a heartless father! How could you allow your second wife to treat Yiyun this way, she is your daughter, the legitimate young miss of the Chen family. Vivian Wang was livid, her younger sister, Yiyun's mother is dead. Not long after her death, Peizhi Chen brought in another woman with her daughter and declared her his wife and the child of the woman his daughter. Yiyun was 6 and the girl was 5. Which meant he cheated on his wife during their marriage and had the heart to bring her in immediately after his wife died.

Not only did the mother and daughter duo occupy the position of Yiyun's mother but also the fish eye regarded herself as a pearl and maltreated the young miss.

Vivian Wang was angry when she heard that her niece had stopped attending school and was reduced to the position of a maid, she travelled from country C to country A to find out the truth.

She was shocked to find her once vibrant and lovely niece being abused by the head maid. She immediately scolded the maid. 

Only for Fang Xia, Chen Peizhi's second wife to appear to stop her.

Miss Wang, it's not your place to correct my family's maid. Vivian Wang was stunned, she walked towards Fang Xia before she could speak, she was slapped, she never expected Vivian Wang not to show respect to Peizhi, she raised her head and screamed, how dare you! 

Vivian Wang immediately walked towards Peizhi office,  she barged in without knocking. Peizhi was shocked. 

Vivian Wang asked in a cold voice "is this how you pay your gratitude to the Wang family"? Peizhi always feared this sister-in-law, he was about to apologize but Fang Xia rushed in and started crying. Peizhi could not stand his wife being mistreated in his own home, he became hateful. Yes, he was indebted to the Wang family but he still had his pride, beside Sylvia Wang was dead, he can stop leaving in her shadow.

He hated the fact that he was always placed behind her. His achievement was always compared to her success in the business world. A woman should be docile and submissive to her husband's will not challenge her husband. Yes, he believed a woman should be like Fang Xia. Not too intelligent and knows her place below him.

He knew the treatment his first daughter has received but he never stopped them. To him Yiyun was just like her mother, strong-headed and was not sensible like his favourite daughter Sunyin, she was simple and cute.

After calming Fang Xia, he asked her to leave. Fang Xia glared at Vivian and walked out.

Peizhi looked towards Vivian Wang and spoke in a mild voice, Yiyun is my Chen family daughter, I will handle her affairs.

Peizhi Chen since Yiyun Is a thorn in your eyes, I will take her to country C. 

Vivian wang turned and walked out of the office, She went straight to the room where she thought it was her niece's room…

As Vivian walked she remembered how excited her sister had been when decorating Yiyun's room, imported mulberry silk for the beddings, cashmere for curtains and drapes, her daughter was her light, Sylvia Wang always wanted the best for her daughter and her niece was very intelligent and creative. Vivian believed Yiyun will grow up to be competent and successful. As she got to the bedroom she noticed someone was in the bathroom, she decided to wait for her niece to finish her bath. Vivian was shocked to discover romance novel on the study desk, Yiyun is a sensible child, how can she read this instead of studying. Vivian decided to have a talk with her niece. Soon the bathroom door opened, Who are you? How did you get into my room? 

Vivian snapped out of her thoughts, she turned around and zeroed in on Sunyin, her face turned cold, she questioned, who let you in? did you just say this is your room?. Who gave you the right to say that?

Sunyin was stunned; she screamed and started crying, Fang Xia her mother rushed in Sunyin!! My daughter, what happened, are you alright?

Mom, this crazy woman is asking me to leave my room, who let her in? Mom quickly chase her out of the house.

Fang Xia just realized there is another person in the room, she turned around and saw Vivian looking at her with disgust written all over her face. 

Vivian cut her off before she could speak, so you took over my niece's room for your own benefit, no matter how you try, a pheasant can never transform into a phoenix. 

She walked out of the room and wandered towards the servants quarter, Yiyun was squatting down beside a door and whispering, Yiyun! Darling what are you doing there, pack your things we are leaving this minute.

Yiyun was shocked, her eyes opening wide, fear can be seen in them, Vivian felt her heart drop, what pain can cause a child to turn into this. Don't be frightened, I have your father's permission to take you with me…. Yiyun burst into tears and hugged Vivian's and cried out aunty Ever-young, you mean am free… Vivian was happy, her niece still remembers her nickname " Ever-young". She had thought of how to apologize to Yiyun for not coming earlier, but now it seems her niece didn't blame or hate her.
