Getting To Know The Competition

I tighten up my fists. Shiratorizawa Academy we are gonna win. We walk into the court. We see everyone from both teams. The other team in the stands start to cheer for Shiratorizawa Academy and they're cheer is amazing. All I could hear was the drums and everyone was in unison. "Dum Dum Dum." The sound the drums made echoing through the stands. "Shir-tori-zawa." They said it loud and clear. It was pretty catchy too. They came in, the team we are facing. They looked so confident. There he was Ushijima Wakatoshi. He was the Ace. The powerhouse of the group. He would just look at us and it looked like he was staring into my soul. It's been hard for me to even think about Volleyball, cause I have never been this close to my teammates before. They started to announce the lineup. (Ushijima Wakatoshi #1.) He is a third year. He walks so smoothly and he looks so confident. His hair shines and his hair looks so dark. His hair was a deep brown. His eyes almost matched his hair. His hair flowed like the wind. (Ōhira Reon #4) He had black hair. He was the Vice captain, He was outside hitter on the team. (Tendō Satori #5) He was the middle blocker. He had deep red hair. He also had bright red but almost brown. (Goshiki Tsutomu #8) He has dark hair and he gives this dark feeling. He kind of seems dark like me. His hair and eyes just shadow. He seems intense. He had a bowl cut and he had a little bit of a bang in front. (Shirabu Kenjirō #10) He has blond hair with a split a little up the middle. He has two side bangs that are parted. He has brown eyes and he is a setter. He seems calm. (Kawanishi Taichi #12) He has soft orange hair. His hair is darker orange. He seems grumpy. Then we have the libero. (Yamagata Hayato #14) He has spiked brown hair. He seems to be concentrating really hard as he is walking. The only team seemed unified. All the girls were falling for them in the stands. How are we gonna beat them? I will never know.

Definitions:

Captain: A captain is chosen by a coach after showing to be a good role model. They have many duties during a game, they have to know how to calm down a team during serious situations.

Setter: The setter chooses who should get the ball and when they should get it. They communicate with teammates to get the ball passed to them to line up with the person they will set too. They can play for front row and back row. Which they can block:defending and receiving. They can also serve: attacking.

Spiker: Using Height, above the net to score a point for your team.

Middle Blockers: They usually block the opponents attempts to score on the team. They can sometimes use decoys. Which they can confuse setters into blocks.

Wing Spikers: (Out-side Hitters or left-side Hitters): They happen to receive but also attack.

Read-blocking: Watching where the ball is going and jumping when the time is right.

Libero: They are the defensive positions. They have really fast and quick moments. They receive and predict where the ball goes. Liberos cannot be captains.
