"You have experienced that before." Aeon caressed Raine's long, black hair gently as if he had been longing to do that for a long time. "I am glad you are here now."

That statement perplexed Raine even further. 

"Experience that before…?" Raine tried to let the words sink in her understanding. But it was still hard to discern. "Do you mean… I am dead?" And they were in the afterlife now? However, it seemed like that wasn't the case either…

"No, Raine…" Aeon shook his head, but judging by the way he talked next, he was clearly in doubt. "Because you are here now, that shouldn't be the case."
