Vany Truong, or Van Khanh Truong, is a girl. She is 18 and had just started her first year of college. Vietnamese born, but American raise, Vany is known to her friends as a tomboy with a sense of humor, and academic scholar who has an aptitude to learn things that she is interested in and procrastinate on things she isn't. Her family is composed of her miracle working mother, her introverted older brother, and her hyperactive little sister. Vany's father bailed on her family when she was young so the girl puts it in her own hands to help her mother. The family is barely surviving in America, the so called "Land of the Free", but they are content and happy with the things they have everyday.

Tang Kuanghui is a man. He is 23 years old and had just taken over his father's company for only 2 years yet his effort has been proven to be invaluable. Graduating with a Master degree in International Business at 19 and working in New York for 2 years left the young man with experiences far more precious than anything he could have learned anywhere else. When Kuanghui returned to China, he was able to bring his father's company to the top of the food chain in the short span of 2 years with the company. Kuanghui has loving parents and an even more loving grandfather on his father side who supported him. His mother side of the family has always been secretive and will remain that way. Even so, they love Kuanghui so. The man has no siblings yet he treats his cousins with love and care, as if they were his blood siblings. To the public, he is the type of man that all girls want. He is rich, handsome, smart, and a perfect gentleman to the ladies. Many pursue Kuanghui, but none caught his attention. Some even rumors that Kuanghui might be gay, but it was never confirmed. To Kuanghui's friends (whom he made during his times studying abroad) and families, he is someone who they can depend on and can have a good laugh with. Kuanghui lives a very luxurious life, but he had learn to be humble and kind and the young man has never felt more happy.

Two different people from two different worlds. Who would have thought that they would meet.
