1 Chapter 1: Sup, Chief?

"Sometimes you gotta treat others wrong to treat yourself right" –Daffy Duck

"Steven, A!"

"Cassie, A+!"

The classroom resounded with the teacher's voice as he announced the grades. After he called out the last name,

The class was silent as a strange noise permeated the air, everyone in the class looked at the middle seat.

There was a boy who was lying back on his chair with his mouth wide open, snorting…

He had black messed-up hair as his baggy eyes twitched due to the wind thrust by the fan.

Suddenly, the youth felt a lot of gazes on him.

Opening those tired eyes, he looked around in a daze. A whisper came from the side,

"Man, you really have to sleep today?"

"So, it's not like it's that special or something…"

The boy was still sleepy as he yawned and stretched his limbs. After getting ahold of his senses, he looked at the teacher glaring at him and gulped.

"Ali Haider, fail…"

The teacher was really disappointed in this youth, he was just too lazy. David knew this boy; he was a certified genius but never used his brain. He met this boy at an occasion and was also the one who admitted him here. But this kid never gave a response at all.

He still remembered how he met him,

...

David was on a trip to the nearest charity function, he was appointed as the representative of Mizton High. He sat on an empty table and looked around at the crowd chatting busily.

There was some food on the table as David prepared to eat. Suddenly, he noticed a boy standing next to him with his head down.

"Hey, buddy, what's the matter?"

The boy looked up at him and his eyes welled up with tears, he spoke with a broken voice,

"I-I'm hungry…"

He seemed about 9 as that sullen look pervaded his heart. He felt really sorry for the kid,

"Where are your parents?"

The moment he asked that tears streamed down the boy's face as he sobbed,

"N-no…"

David was about to cry at the scene,

"Here, you can eat this…"

He offered him the rice that he was about to eat, the boy's eyes lit up as he grabbed them and literally devoured the last bit.

After the boy finished eating, he seemed full of life as he smiled cheerfully. He bowed down,

"Thank you, uncle!"

David smiled kindly,

"It's okay."

The boy then scurried away as David looked at his departing little figure, he felt immense pity.

Sighing, he stood up and went to the stall to get some more.

The waiter gave him the plate and he reached for his wallet…only to find it wasn't there.

David gasped, looked around hurriedly. That was when he saw that boy buying about five packs of noodles with his money; he saw David staring at him and winked with a mischievous smile.

David had his mouth wide apart as he gazed at him.

This little…

Just as he moved, the boy instantly dashed away. David felt cheated, his daughter's documents were in the pen drive, and the pen drive was in the wallet.

He reached the spot the boy was standing and looked around in desperation, his vision caught him. He ran but noticed that he seemed to have stepped on something…

Down on the ground was his wallet along with a small note. He picked it up, the note said,

'Thanks for the help, chief. The name's Shadow.'

He then stared at the sprinting little kid with shock.

He must find who this kid is…

A few days later, he stood in front of a broken house. It was a two-story building and could be summed up in one word, devastated. It seemed on the brink of collapse.

He knocked on the withered door, and after a few moments, it opened.

David looked down, he saw a little girl staring up at him. She had a cute, chubby face as those brown eyes glittered with innocence.

"Who are you, mister?"

David was feeling flabbergasted, what was this child doing here in this desolate place? This was a dangerous market street, every kind of thug stayed here. This was not a place for her.

He crouched down and looked into her eyes,

"What's your name?"

The girl stepped back with fear as her face paled,

"B-baddy!"

David smiled,

"I'm not a baddy, I am a teacher; I teach at a school. I have a daughter too; she can be your friend."

The girl steadied as her eyes twinkled.

David, "Her name is Rose."

"L-Lily"

He smiled, "So Lily, why are you here? Where are your parents?"

Lily shook her head, she was about to say something but gasped and stepped back.

David was also surprised, there seemed to be something behind him that scared the girl.

Getting up, he turned around.

Two men were standing there, they had brutish looks as they looked at them. one of them held a bat as he swung it in circles.

David narrowed his eyes,

"What do you want?"

One of them sneered, "Mind your own crap!"

David was ready to fight, "I will not le-"

But before he could finish his sentence, something shocking happened.

A small object flew in the air, it landed on one of the men's face. It was a balloon and it burst open, smoke released.

"MY EYES! AHHHH!" the man started screaming in anguish as he ran around frantically, there seemed to be some kind of acid on his face.

The other man saw this and burst with rage, "BASTARD!"

He ran with his bat pulled back, right at David.

David was shocked at the scene but readied himself for a duel when…

The moment that guy stepped on the staircase, a small lever pulled and a hard iron sphere erected on a rod swung…

"Ah…"

A weak, almost pitiful moan escaped his mouth as he clutched his crotch; his face turning different shades of grey.

He dropped to his knees and gasped for breath.

David stared at this scene with his jaws touching the ground.

"Sup, chief…"

A voice sounded and he looked back,

That boy was standing with a hand on some kind of switch, with the girl hiding behind him.

David still couldn't recover from his shock as his mouth twitched…

Back to the current time,

Ali had both his hands behind his head as he walked out of the school lazily. This life was too boring for him, it just didn't suit him.

Right now, he planned to go back home, get some popcorn and watch the latest episode of Dragon Ball Super.

Walking through the busy road, he showed no interest to the peeps all around him. Hands in his pocket and vision to the ground, he just kept walking.

Turning to another street, he halted.

There were three people there, two boys and a girl; they wore student uniforms. they stared at him with filthy, playful looks.

The one on the right was tall and bulky while the one on left was skinny and scrawny.

The girl stood behind them with her arms crossed and a satisfied expression, her hair tied in a ponytail as her eyes stared into his.

Ali looked at her and saw two blood moons staring back at him. He shook his head and sighed,

"Ellie, don't you get tired of this?"

Ellie snorted, "Shut up. You two; go beat him up. The one who hits harder will get better rewards."

The two looked at each other with excited expressions, this was thrilling!

Ali still had that lazy expression on his face as he stood calmly. He removed the double stripe and placed his bag on the ground, unbuttoned his wrists, and took off his tie, his arms hung at the sides.

The two dashed at him, aiming for a brutal beat down.

The big guy punched with a swing. Ali ducked down, grabbed his elbow, and twisted it upwards.

The big guy felt the pain as he grabbed his arm.

The scrawny guy used this as an opportunity to launch a surprise attack, he clenched his fist and aimed for the back of Ali's head. Just as it was inches away from him, the scrawny guy almost coughed out his lungs as he stumbled back while clutching his chest.

Ali retracted his elbow and steadied his foot. A roundhouse landed on this face as scrawny swung to the ground and didn't get back up.

A punch came from the big guy; Ali sidestepped and pulled back his fist, his knuckles cackling. A bruise appeared on the big guy's face as he backed away.

Ali seized the opportunity and stepped forward, bending down, another punch pushed in the big guy's guts. He bent down while clutching his stomach.

An uppercut blasted on his face as the battle concluded.

Ali took a deep breath and grabbed his bag. He looked at the two squirming on the ground and then at Ellie.

"Stop these childish tricks, Ellie. Next time, I won't go easy…"

Ellie's eyes twitched.

Stating it clearly, he swung his bag on his shoulder and walked away…

Suddenly, he stopped. Something was flashing in front of his eyes.

It looked like a…

Notification screen…?
