1 THE TRUE FACE

Cara was born in a high-class family of high rated society. her father, Wilson Smith was not one of the best but best of the best business critic in the whole country of Naroca. Cara's mother, Angela Smith was the third wife of her father. having two brothers and one sister she was the youngest in the family. but most talented one too.when she was born there was a smile on her mother's face. proud on her daddy's face but hatred on her oldest brother's face. born with so many talents, her most extraordinary talent was her singing.her voice was as if the goddesses are singing.she first sang at the age of two. her mom was singing a lullaby and then she started humming with her. it was just for a minute but so beautiful that her mother could lose her consciousness. as she grew older she kept winning the singing competitions happening all over the country. Cara was soon considered as the extraordinary child. as the time flew she soon turned eight. it was her birthday when her father took her to a saint who lived in the heights of mount Silima. the mountain was covered in snow. it took Cara's family three days to reach the great saint's cave. when they reached there the saint was meditating on a big block of ice. his eyes were closed but his face looked he was in great peace and showed a great satisfaction on his face. Wilson called the saint numerous times but the saint won't open his eyes. Angela started playing the flute which she carried all the time with her, but nothing happened. it was as if the saint was in eternal peace and didn't want to wake up from it. no matter what the family did the saint won't open his eyes. suddenly there was a smile on Cara's face. she went in in front of the saint and started to sing, "the hymn which keeps us alive, where could I find it, the hymn for my people, the start to-", suddenly the saint opened his eyes. he didn't only open his eyes but his eyes were actually wide open. before anyone of Cara's family could say a word the saint rose and announced, "the prophecy of goddess Eumelia is about to come true. Cara or anyone in her family couldn't understand this. so the saint started explaining it to them. "for today's century goddess Eumelia wrote a prophecy that when the world would be without any smile, enjoyment, love, believe or emotions. the star children would be born who would then bring back the world what it needs." the saint then asked "could you please tell me Cara's birth date?". "it's June 18, 2013", Angela replied. a curve was formed on the saint's face." that was the day when harmonica comet flew over the sky. Cara was born under its light and so were the other five star children. Mr. Wilson, your child's voice has the power to the world. to change people's thinking. she is born with the power which will grow with her voice. your child is indeed not a normal one but a special one." Cara was all confused after listening all this. but it was not the same with Wilson and Angela. Wilson thanked the saint and left. as they were leaving the saint told Wilson loudly "don't ever try to control her will, Mr. Smith." Wilson frowned and said, "it is not something for you to decide!" and left. Cara couldn't understand anything. she just left with her family watching the saint smiling from behind. after the family reached home, Cara took a long bubble bath thinking about the last argument between the saint and her father. she started searching about the comet on her laptop but couldn't find anything useful. she was called downstairs for dinner. her family dinner was the only time when she could see her whole family together. as she took her seat she saw her father and mother holding the spoon in one hand and a tab in another, talking about some business meeting in the US. unlike always she opened her mouth and asked," what do you think of the story that saint told us?" both of her parents looked at her as if she asked something immoral. both her brothers were looking at her as if they would cut her off with the knife. her father began," look, Cara, I'm going to get on the point. you don't have to do anything about it. maybe that is your job but right now your job is to do efforts for what could bring fortune to the family. you are going to get married in a prestigious family and maybe handle some of our business too, looking at how intelligent you are turning out to be." Cara looked at her mother for help, but her mother gave her a cold shoulder and said, "what are you looking at? don't tell me, you think I'll help you so that instead of making money you can do such low-class activities. look Cara it was fine for you to take part in those competitions because you were a little girl back then. but now I think its time for you to grow up and learn some manners." Cara couldn't say anything. that night every bite she ate felt like pieces of broken glass in her mouth.for an eight-year girl to know this much...? Cara was beyond hurt. she came to know the truth of her family at the age she should be playing and laughing. she was so broken that tears couldn't even fall off her eyes. she went to the balcony to get some fresh air. she saw children playing down in the street. she just watched them with a blank stare and stood like a statue.
