1 The Lady behind the Fabric

The moon and the stars were shining brightly as if they were guiding the group of four men who were cautiously moving inside the secluded woods.

"Xue Huan, can we really camp in your residence?"Gong Yan suddenly broke the silence. Out of the four men, he's more hardly visible in the dark surrounding because he's wearing a black cloak. He was still alert on the area while looking at Xue Huan, their leader.

"We don't have any choice, that's the best solution for now."Wen Zexi replied immediately with his calm voice when he saw Xue Huan only nodded his head. He knew that Xue Huan was bothered by their other members who also fled away from their previous camp.

Wen Zexi served as the physician of the group. He became one for his brilliant mind and his warm heart.

"That's right, that's right. Why are you so doubtful."Chen Wei remarked with his pure confident voice. His clothing was adorned by mixed colors design, differed from the three.

Wen Zexi turned his back and looked at Chen Wei who was clutching the cloak of Gong Yan so tightly that it could already rip the fabric.

"Look who's talking."Wen Zexi said as he laughed wholeheartedly. Gong Yan didn't laugh but he shook his head and glanced at Chen Wei as if he felt pity towards their member.

"Hey, I'm not scared! I was only holding his cloak because he has the lamp."

"As you say."

"I'm telling the truth-"

"Ducked!"Xue Huan finally opened his mouth but it's not good to hear anymore for they were about to experience another grave situation. Gong Yan also felt it so the moment Xue Huan warned them, he already took out his sword and slashed the arrows winging towards them.

The four men formed themselves in a circular position as the bandits approached them. With the never-ending arrows and swords pointed at them, they never stopped from slashing it one by one.

But Xue Huan suddenly dropped on his left knee as his heart thumped heavily. The three covered Xue Huan, ignoring the fact that they were surprised for a second. Xue Huan placed his palm on his chest as he started to breathe painfully. The three could not handle the pack of bandits anymore. They forcefully broke their cover around their leader.

Xue Huan was left at the center, he barely looked at his members who were in different parts of the ground now. He immediately forced himself to raise his sword when he saw an arrow flying towards him but he felt weak. He had no choice but to let go of the swords and put his other hand too on his chest when it throbbed heavily. He looked at the arrow already reaching his body but before the arrow pierced him, someone narrowly knocked on it.

Xue Huan took a minute to raise his head and looked at the person who was also staring at him. He could only see the person's eyes for half of the face was covered in fabric with lotuses sewed on it. He dropped his eyes and he was taken aback, when the person who just saved him was a LADY!

In the deepest part of a certain forest that served as an abode of wild animals, a place where anyone could find peace and silence from their deafening world turned into a busy world. There were various types of equipment set on different parts of the place. Three-Point Lighting Kit, camera light and reflectors, video cameras, tripods, and a lot more which made every wild animal ran away from the place.

But above from those, there was a lady who couldn't contain herself anymore. At any minute, she could strangle the director or she could just strike each throat of the production team.

"So you mean, I'll stay here until midnight?"Shi Mei said to the assistant director as if it was a matter that could end her life.

"I'm sorry Miss Shi Mei but our main director would like to film more scenes here." the assistant director explained to Shi Mei, the main stunt woman of the movie.

"The main director wants to film more scenes here so you will move my taping schedule to midnight, is that what are you pointing now."Shi Mei remarked bluntly as her lips twisted and shot her death glare at the assistant director.

Shi Mei was so fussy about the changing of schedule because she woke up at dawn, traveled for seven hours, and what's annoyed her was that they needed to walk with her manager for one hour to reach the isolated place. And she tried to understand it because it's the nature of her work but she could not bear anymore when the assistant director approached her and relayed that her shooting would start at midnight. Who would be calm when she invested a lot of time, only to know that she would invest another long hour!

"No worries, we are willing to wait."Luxian quietly answered, Shi Mei's manager. The assistant director smiled at the manager, saving him from the critical situation was the best thing that happened to his day now. He quietly excused himself, leaving the manager.

Shi Mei glared at her manager but Luxian only motioned her to understand the situation.

"No worries?!"Shi Mei was so furious as she emphasized what just her manager reacted to the assistant director.

"Shi Mei, the change of schedule favors you. You can take a nap while waiting for it. Ease yourself and have a sleep to energize your body."Luxian smiled at Shi Mei but she laughed sarcastically.

"Do I look like I need to sleep? Tell them that I need to shoot the scene now."

"Shi Mei, please can you spare me this time. Let's not create another trouble again or else I will end up inside a coffin. Our CEO will kill me."Luxian pleaded but Shi Mei glared only at him again. Shi Mei walked towards the Director but Luxian pulled her away from the production team.

"Luxian, I'm warning you-"

"For crying out loud Shi Mei, can't you see my condition? At least give me a week to rest before you create another rumor again!"Luxian shrieked.

"MY EYES ARE EVEN WORSE THAN THE PANDA. I CAN'T EVEN HAVE A TIGHT SLEEP FOR A MONTH BECAUSE OF YOU-"

"Fine, fine, fine!I'll wait until midnight. Anyway, another seven hours or even more would not be a problem, right? It will not be futile if I give my twenty-four hours to only one scene, right!-"

"That's not what I mean-"

"I only realize now that you are a brilliant Luxian. Why did you choose this career, you are more suited to be a lawyer and your client will be those people!"Shi Mei remarked with her satirical voice then she turned her back. But as she faced the other direction, the good-for-nothing actress was smiling sweetly at her.

"Shi Mei, as always you have your ways to catch the attention of other people. They even stopped setting up the filming area for my scene. Attention-seeker." the actress said as if she was challenging Shi Mei even more.

"Oh don't misunderstand it. I didn't mean it in a bad way."Shi Mei didn't budge nor smiled back at the actress.

"I know, I'm an attention seeker. That's why I'm curious, why are they still enlisting me as the main stunt woman of your movie."Shi Mei looked at the actress for a few seconds then she nodded afterward as if she figured out the reason.

"Oh I understand now, you are not capable enough to make the production team entrusts every scene to you."Shi Mei leaned closer to the actress.

"Don't outsmart me when you are only a spoiled-weak princess."

Shi Mei said as she straightened herself and walked away. But she stopped when she heard someone was whispering in her ears.
