1 Chapter 1 ~A fair flight~

"Hiiyah!" Iris screamed running forward to deliver a gutting knife-edge kick to her opponent's throat. It contacted and he reeled back stunned Iris quickly ducked down onto her haunches before propelling herself forward with her hands she delivered a swipe with her leg. trying to knock him off his feet… her opponent's left foot buckled and he lurched backwards now off balance, iris attempted to tag him with the loss insignia, her right hand glowing a neon purple as she attempted to grab him. she'd won! but… just as her hand was barely an inch away from his leg he disappeared.

her opponent grinned, Avi had already won. flipping his body over Iris in an arc so fast it took a moment for him to focus, Avi staggered slightly and pushed two glowing orange fingers into Iris's back, just under her left scapula.

"Aaghrr", Iris groaned looking around the woven sparring ground as it glowed a ruddy orange colour, indicating her loss.

Damn It! What did you do! Iris exclaimed, turning around to look at Avi it took a moment to find him, he'd collapsed on the Arena's floor, his arms spasming slightly as he laid there, Iris let out a shocked gasp rushing over to help him,

Shrugging Avi's semi-conscious body against her, Iris dragged him out of the arena.

"Awgh, what's with this horrid ringing" Avi mumbled patting the side of his head with the bottom part of his hand, "the hell'd you use?" Iris asked, moving from the arena to the courtyard of their hideout, "I… uh… I mouldered dragonfly" Avi answered weakly, Iris laying him on a cot. "Just wait here okay, I'll head out and get some medicine" Iris said patting Avi's head reassuringly.

He'd mouldered some dragonfly, Iris thought to herself, as she walked down the cobbled streets of vehglemaus port, a large gathering of rainclouds could be seen above painting the streets below in bands of blue and grey, short of a few servants and messengers scuttling through the back alleys the streets where very quiet today, dragonfly, now that's fucking wild Iris thought, it was quite unusual for such a small source of power to be used in combat, especially as it wouldn't last long, maybe he got frustrated at me beating him so many times, Iris thought grinning despite herself.

Iris's destination was only a little further, past a few large ship-bound crates she spied it, a medicine shop, set inside a small grotto inside one of the towns Port wall, Iris entered the shop with a ring, a small bronze bell attached to the door announcing her arrival to the shop attendant, the shopkeep stared at Iris from underneath a large mushroom-shaped cap her small beady eyes following Iris as she began to peruse,

The shop Itself was a marvel, tinctures, salves, various panacea, and elixirs dotted the far left walls of the shop in a rainbow of muted swirling mixtures, while to the right of the shop lay a massive collection of trinkets, in the middle a large wooden cauldron sat, inside a collection of charcoal lay gently glowing, while above a collection of lizards, fish and other small animals hung their skin a golden brown colour from the smoking, the smell of it was heady and Iris found it hard to concentrate.

She found her prize after only a few moments, a small medallion of axolotl flesh. paying for it with a pinched nose she dumped a half coin on the counter and scurried out of the shop.

making her way back to the hideout as it began to rain.
