4 First Kiss of Death (2)

"What are you talking about? Are … you looking for me?"

A wide cruel smile formed by his lips, made his V shaped chin looked sharper than before. He began walk into the cave. The shadow of his tall body fell at the front part of cave where some damp light from moon breached. His shadow looked like it was merangkak, grew longer and came closer to where I stood.

My hair stood on end as if they were going to run away. It took everything on me to ignore it. Since I knew there would be no place to hide anymore.

"There you are, smart ass. Then hurry up and come here. I'll make it fast for you, and that little snack behind you."

I felt my fingers turned as cold as ice, while my back started shivering, sending cold impulse down my nerves. I blinked once, forced myself to focus on the gun's trigger so I could pull it any time. There would be only one chance, I need to wait the vampire to came closer and aimed for his heart.

"Not that easy!" I spatted.

The vampire burst in laugh. "I can't believe it. A human like you dare to speak back at me?"

He walked toward us. His laugh was not stopping for a while, as if he just listened to a joke. His sharp gaze felt like it could sear through my eyes. Tried my best to stop my trembling hands, I waited for him to came closer.

When he was about three meters away, I shot him right at the heart. And then something odd happened. The vampire was not hurt at all. I sent five or six more bullet to his chest. But nothing worked. As if there was an invisible wall protecting his body, so that no bullet could reach him.

It was so strange that my mind went blank. And yet, in another second the vampire threw my body towards cave's wall by using only one of his fingers.

"Uggrh …." My back hurt when it bumped to a stone.

The vampire bent his waist down in front of me, tried to grab my neck. I moved my leg as fast as I could, and kicked his 'thing' between his laps. To my surprise, he cried out loud in pain and anger. He cursed at me, his eyes looked red.

"Fucking moron!"

I thought he was going to grab and finish me, but he walked toward Karen. He took he by neck and ready to suck her blood.

I pull the gun's trigger, tried to shot him again. But I've used all the bullets. 'Shit!'

"Stop it! Don't touch my sister!" I screamed with a voice that was so strange even to my own ears. "Please, stop it …"

I never expected him to really stop, but he did. He turned his gaze to me. It was cold and full of killing intent. "No one tell me what or what not to do. I always get what I want."

"Please, I'm sorry. Don't hurt her, I beg you. It's me that you're looking for." I hated myself for saying this, but I promised Mom to protect Karen. "Just take my blood. I am the one that you want to find. So please, I beg you, leave her alone."

The vampire just stood there, eyes stared at me, sharp and heavy. He looked like he was thinking or curious. I didn't know which was true. But after some long silence seconds, the corner of his lips curved upward. I could say for sure that it was the cruellest smile I ever see.

"Deal." He said in small voice.

I dropped the gun in my hand. Forced my legs that felt numb all of sudden, I walked toward him. I couldn't feel my heart anymore. Maybe it stopped already. Or frozen by fear. I could feel some heavy pressure just fell down inside my stomach. Finally, I was able to bring myself and stood on front of the vampire.

There was no way we could flee again. I couldn't help but hate my helplessness. Was it really the end for me? After ran away with all my might, I even left Mom back there, and let Dad got killed. Yet, in the end, I couldn't anyone.

A wicked smile grew oh that old vampire's face, looking so satisfied as he watched his prey giving up their life. He brought me to next to cave's wall, made me fall on my knees. I couldn't move at all. At the next second, he let go Karen's neck and brought his face closer to mine. When I thought his fangs were going toward my neck, my eyes saw some splattered blood came from my lower body. I screamed on my lungs when I felt his hand stabbed my belly. The wicked smile on his face deepened.

"It's for your silly bullets." He whispered with low voice before he sank his fangs on my neck side.

I felt my body was trembling and turned colder as time passed. I could hear my blood flowed down his throat as he greedily sucked more. There was nothing I could do other than waiting for the time when my body was drained. My whole body turned numb.

When I almost lost my sense, the vampire stopped sucking my blood. His face turned stern as if an idea had just popped in his mind. My sight blurred, but I could feel his gaze upon me. Right into my eyes.

"You know, you've got such an interesting blood. A fearless girl, huh?"

I didn't get what he was saying. My only hope was for him to finish me quickly, because it was so painful that I want to end. Or maybe he was torturing me by prolonged my death time. While I cursed him internally, he began to speak again.

"It was such a waste to gulp your blood once for all. It'll be more fun if I can have it for a long time, wouldn't you agree?" The wicked smile grew again as he wiped some blood from his lips. There was some excitement sparkled in his eyes. "Remember this if you survive: you are mine, from now to the end of time. Although, it might be a bit hard for you to survive since I drank too much. But it would be fun to experimenting, right?"

He bite the tip of his index finger, then inserted the blood dripped from there into my skin, right at the part where his fang pierced in.

"With this, you will be one of my kind. And if you survive, you'll to me so that I can suck your sweet blood for ages."

"No … No, don't …" I muttered with my remaining strength. Tried to get up, but my body was too weak after losing so much blood.

"You have no choice little lamb. It's your fate."

I could feel the vampire's cold blood ran through my veins. It was colder than my body's temperature. And it was hundred times more painful than got stabbed at my belly. I could hear my screaming voice echoed by the dark cave. But the voice felt further and further. For some time, my body felt like it was burned from inside. And then, suddenly, everything went black.
