2 Chapter 2

Clara walked in and it was amazing. So bright and colorful compared to the other world. The air was so fresh and it was just so pretty. Clara turned to face Philip. "Is this really where I am from? It is such a pretty place I can't believe it." Clara was awe struck and couldn't think about anything.

"Let's go see your parents. Everyone here is going to be staring because of our clothes so just keep your head down until we make it to the house. It's not far." Philip kept Clara very close the whole time. He was having a hard time not mentioning that he was her older brother. Philip was so worried she would freak out and ran off before they made it home.

They had made it there and once again Clara was amazed by this world. The house was a mansion! She saw others and they were just as big. Clara was so excited but also realized something. "Philip if I come here what about my parents in the other world? Will I get to see them?"

"I am afraid not Clara. They have to be relocated and kept an eye on. You have to come with us though because you will put your other family in trouble. Your parents and sibling can protect you here." Philip saw Clara's heart break in her eyes. She was devastated.

"I have a sibling? Is he or she here too?" Clara asked wiping away the tears. She didn't even realize they had started to fall but she was happy to know she wouldn't be entirely alone.

"Yes an older brother. I don't know if he is here but let's go meet your parents. They do know of you dropping by just to see what it will be like here." Philip walked into the huge house and their parents were right there waiting for them. "Clara this is Maddox and Katryn. This is your home now."

"Clara, oh my. " Katryn walked over and looked at her. She started crying. She had only seen pictures of Clara over the years.

Maddox was just shocked to see his daughter. He hardly was able to look at the pictures that Philip would bring home because it made him upset. "Clara, welcome home" was all he could manage to say.

Philip looked at his sister and smiled, "I lied about not know if your brother would be here. I didn't want to scare you but I am your older brother. I have been watching over you."

Now Clara began to panic. She had a whole other family! The only difference was her eyes but she could tell that they were family, she just knew it. "Hi Katryn and Maddox, " she spoke so quiet she didn't think they heard her.

"Hi Clara, it's so nice to see you." Maddox was the only one who could really get words out at the time. There was just a lot of crying from both of them.

Clara didn't exactly like change in her life but obviously she had to deal with it now. Philip brought her home to grab a few things to remind her of her old life and say goodbye, even if they didn't remember it. She had been given a choice though, they could think she died in a horrible accident or she was simply washed away from their memories and new ones to fill in the gaps. Clara chose for them to forget her. It would make their lives easier. Her sister would be an only child and Clara would have never existed, just like it should have been.

So home she went. Clara's adoptive parents were so mad at her. She hadn't come straight home after school and her parents called the cops. Everyone knew she was a child prodigy, it was all in the papers and they thought someone kidnapped her. "Clara, where in the world have you been? Do you know how worried we were?" her mom was basically trying hard not to shout at Clara.

"Sorry I just took a walk because my classmates were being mean to me at the field trip. I should have stopped home first and told you guys, " Clara wasn't exactly lying but she couldn't tell them the whole truth.

"It's okay. We are just glad you are safe but you are still grounded for a week. You can't just disappear like that on us," her dad said calmly after the explanation.

"Okay I can accept that. I will be upstairs if you need me, " and so she went upstairs to her room. She dumped everything out of her school bag. She put her phone, picture album, her diary, favorite book, earbuds and phone charger. She didn't want to take anything else. Clara snuck downstairs and look at her parents. "I forgot to say I love you guys. I'm going outside for a few minutes okay? My room is stuffy for some reason. "

"We love you too Clara. Don't stay outside too long or we'll worry again, " her mom spoke calmly and watch Clara step outside, not noticing her backpack.

Once she was far enough away she put it on her back. She walked to the community pool where Philip and her planned to meet. She was so nervous that she was shaking. She didn't know what her destiny was that Philip had mentioned and she didn't know what her future would be now. Clara slowly walked up to meet Philip, somewhat dreading each step into her new life. "I'm ready to go. I told them I was getting fresh air so you might want to send someone soon to wipe their memories or they'll call the cops."

"Okay, let's go. It's okay to be scared. I will be right here to help you. Once we are home I do have to explain some things and trigger your other abilities. Having new abilities might be difficult to control at first but you aren't alone," Philip smiled at Clara and opened the portal. They both walked through and Clara's new life began. Clara and Philip walked through the same area as before. She began to notice more things. The sky was darker than before but it was just as light on the streets as in the day so she looked at the mansions. They were glowing bright light colors and had so many trees. They all shined a different way and they were the biggest mansion she's ever seen. When they got the their house Clara realized that their mansion was the biggest one of the all. She wonder why that was because all the others seemed to be close to the same size so she asked. "Philip, why is our house the biggest and all the others are about the same size?"

"Well dad has a very important job in our government. We have 16 councilmen and women who work together to create laws and keep all the human in check and keep the peace with other species . Dad is an ambassador. He helps other species if they require human help and finish any task that is given. Mom helps around the house here, " Philip explained it simple enough that it wouldn't confuse her.

"Other species that we can talk to?" Clara was definitely confused. She didn't know there was other species that they could understand.

"Yes there's goblins, ogres, dwarfs, gnomes and fairies. We try to keep piece between everyone but a long time ago the orgs took over the gnomes cities so the gnomes live here and help us. They aren't servants so make sure you treat them with respect, " Philip's tone at the end was serious and Clara would listen to those instructions.

"That's nice that they stay here and help. I won't disrespect them or any other species. Anything else about them I should know?" Clara was so curious now because it was something she didn't know about for once.

"The goblins typically are guards for the council and anyone else who seems to need one. If the threat towards you doesn't die down soon they will probably assign you a guard or two. They are scary and very well trained but they are friendly, " Philip smiled knowing she liked to learn and she knew nothing about this world. "Also we light leap as a way to travel. You'll have a bracelet put on your wrist to make sure you don't fade away while you are learning. Eventually you won't need it but only when the concentration meter fills up. You will take time to adjust to everything because most things will be unusual."

"Unusual? " Clara was confused. It seemed pretty normal to her.

"You'll learn in school what I mean. It's hard for me to explain," was all Philip would say though.
