12 Chapter 12

They called the meeting where it was beforehand. "Hello everyone. You must have heard by now that I have decided to take the role of leader sooner, " Clara smiles at every one confidently but only because Emmett was helping her emotions.

"But why so soon? You haven't even gotten to learn how this world works, " a gentleman asked who was sitting rather close to the front.

Clara had a communication link between everyone that mattered to her and the mysterious man. She had warned everyone but the mysterious man had let her and Philip do a full look at his memories. "Well I've already seen how this world works. I don't agree with it as many of you don't too, " Clara saw some nods but she was extremely nervous. Even after drinking an elixir and having Emmett it was uncontrollable. "We all need to take a massive leap forward and not everyone will agree with this. I want to bring this group into light."

Clara saw the surprised looks and some uncomfortable ones. The gentleman once again spoke, "What exactly do you mean with bringing it into light?"

"Well simple. I am going to tell the council about us. Anyone who objects can leave but they are no longer a part of this group. It would be better for everyone to stay because they can't take down a group this large so easily, " Clara saw only two people stand and once they realized they were alone they sat back down. Everyone was in so far and that made Clara happy. "I do understand the risk you are all taking. I'll go alone but if it doesn't work I'll have us all in a communication link so I can have you guys come."

"You can't possibly keep over 200 people in a telepath link. That has never been heard of!" they must have been a telepath or at least that's what Clara was going to assume anyways.

"Well with the help of the telepaths in here I can. I won't be entirely alone but I do need everyone working together. I will create a link with all the telepaths so please stand up, " multiple people stood up but she didn't know if it was enough. "Um enhancers raise your hands. We will have to pair you up."

Like she had assume the one who didn't think it was possible was standing. There were a lot more enhancers than she thought. It was a pretty common ability. "Now what?" Annabelle was asking. She was an enhancer herself and she could be useful for Clara.

"I need you to stay with me. You will be enhancing me to keep all the links from being compromised, " Clara gave a small smile. "We will hide your identity if you wish."

"No I want to stand up for what is right beside you. This is the best path to take. No more being underground, " Annabelle held out her hand for Clara and Clara took it.

The man from before wasn't suppressing her unknown ability this time and orbs began to appear and it scared some people. "Secrets don't work in an organization like this. This is my final ability. Tell whoever, it doesn't matter anymore." Clara controlled the ability and all the orbs faded slowly away. "This is what the council is scared of with me."

"Shouldn't they be? An unknown ability has never been heard of, " the man who had kept it quiet asked. She planned that, to help make it seem better.

"No they shouldn't. I'm not threat to anyone unless they make themselves a threat to my family and friends, " Clara smiled and looked at everyone this time. All of their faces before sighing.

"But why do you have such an ability? Is it even safe to have you enhanced with it?" a random women from the crowd asked and than multiple people were agreeing.

"Look I understand my ability being unknown and all has never happened since all the abilities were believed to be discovered and named. I am harmless unless you pose a threat and even than I can just block you in," Clara hated being questioned but sooner or later someone would have seen and everyone would have found out in this group. She knew she did the right thing.

"What do you mean Clara?" the women once again asked. Clara had recognized the women but from where, well Clara couldn't figure it out.

"Simple. Unless I wish to walk through it or let someone through if I set up a wall it can't be walked through easily. I am not saying it's impossible but I would feel someone walking through the ability, " Clara smiled at what she knew of her ability. The little she could get out with that dumb ring helped in her class with the mentors. They have been experimented with what it could do and it seemed very very powerful.

"Time to get the links started. Do it one at a time so you don't accidentally overlap with another one."

"Are you sure you can handle all of this Clara? I can get another telepath to help and keep it quiet if you need me to, " Annabelle whispered into Clara's ear. It was a lot of people but with a system, she wasn't the one keeping them together truly. Avery was giving her a boost from behind the scenes. If her ability failed to support so many, two wouldn't.

"No I have Avery on standby incase of an issue. I should be okay but I will only be focusing on the telepaths voices not everyone's," Clara stepped backwards as all the telepaths began to link to her. Maybe fifteen in total. It was an insane amount of voices. It overwhelmed her but she settled it down.

"Okay everyone, you all can here me and hear what is happening. I will be listening to the respective telepaths to keep my mind from being overwhelmed. I know this is crazy but you can only hear me and the others in your specific link. I understand the confusion and the shock because nothing this big has ever been done but I am doing my best. No one can get into the main link but telepaths please keep aware that I am not able to protect your links, " Clara smiled and she let go of Annabelle's hand. It was a scary thing to be enhanced too long for Clara.

"Alright well let's get started. Avery you need to stay nearby but it's okay if you don't come inside, " Clara got up and began to walk from the meeting room. Everyone was to stay there and wait.

"Are you kidding me? Do you think I'm going to let you in there alone with the council! They aren't coming near you Clara, they'll have to go through me," Avery got very serious. Usually he flirts a little but Clara's never seen him so serious. He was a really good guy to Clara and she owed him a lot. Especially since he is boosting her ability, which she has no idea how that works what so ever but oh well, it'll have to do for now.

"Well I don't want you in danger... You won't come in with us. Just stay outside the building please, " She turned and looked right into Avery's eyes. She was a little upset. "It would hurt if I got you in trouble. I don't want you in any danger Avery. I don't know what I would do if something happened... I am used to people dying, humans from my old world don't live forever like you do here but I can't lose you even if you aren't dead."

"Clara I'm not going anywhere I promise. I want to be at your side and if I'm not in there for the first part Emmett might mad and I don't think that'll be good, " he pulls Clara into a hug. He'd never really hugged before and Clara hadn't been hugged for awhile. Yes Philip had once or twice and same with Emmett but it was different with Avery. Something was different and she didn't understand what but she was blushing. "I will always be right here Clara. You have shown me something different and new. You don't know this world entirely and I know Emmett wants to teach you but I do too. Whenever you see something new you get this happiness that I've never seen. I know everything won't always be new but I will find ways to get that happiness."

"Avery..... I will let you in but you need to hide who you are. I don't want you to be recognized in there, " Clara stayed in the hug. She had never been hugged this long but she didn't want to leave it. Clara felt so safe and new that Avery had her, she felt that way with Emmett and Philip but she still didn't understand why Avery was different.

"Fine, let's go to a shop than that sells elixirs to change appearances, " Avery finally left the hug and Clara was sad but only for a moment. She didn't have time to be sad right now but she knew she wanted more hugs.

"That's a thing? Woah that's cool! I'll have to change how I look some time," she laughed a little and they headed to the shop.

Avery really did change his whole appearance and it was weird to Clara. Gone was his light brown hair and hazel colored eyes. Even his body changed. He was a little shorter, with dark brown hair and very dark brown eyes. His voice was higher too which Clara laughed at for a moment because she was expecting that at all.

Sadly no more time for goofing off and delaying what her plans were. Off to the council to make a change to a world has hardly seen one.
