1 UNSEEN SHADOW

It was a dark lonely night, the breeze blew gently through the trees and the moon shined brightly.

it was indeed late in the night and every mortal were snuggled up nicely in their various beds, well everyone except Kaylee Morgan, an average teenage girl, tall had red hair and her eyes were sparkling green.

she strolled through the cold Woods alone but what exactly could she be doing outside by this time and in the woods?

No one knew, not even Kaylee, she herself couldn't tell why she was out there, all she knew was that out of no where she found herself lonely and lost in this creepy place.

'swoosh!' the sudden ruffling of bushes could be heard followed by the swift movement of an UNSEEN SHADOW which ran past her rapidly.

she gasped in shock as she traced it with her eyes.

"wha---who--who's there? " she voiced out.

she was extremely frightened, No frightened is an understatement for what Kaylee felt, she was scared beyond words.

her legs wobbled and her hands felt cold and sweaty.

"Kaylee, it's time!" a voice echoed out but in a whisper, an extremely audible whisper.

"what?... who are you? Show yourself" she barked but the whisper just continued.

"it's time Kaylee, it's time to come home" the voice went on and she turned around frantically in search of the owner of the voice but to no avail.

'Swoosh?!' the shadow ran swiftly past her again and then when she faced forward, she saw it, no it wasn't an it, it was actually a human, a human who hid in the shadow just staring blankly at her.

she shook in fear.

"who... who are you? "she stuttered in fright and immediately the shadow in shape of a human picked up a pace, running rapidly towards her.

she stumbled back and found herself falling down a bottomless pit.

....

"Ahhhh!!!" Kaylee screamed as she jumped off from her bed.

she was breathing heavily, strands of sweats formed up all over her fore head as her lips wobbled.

"it's just a dream" she panted as she placed her palm on her head steadily.

she held her chest, locating her locket which her grand dad had gifted her from childhood.

it was emerald which marched her eyes pretty well.

"its okay, it's just a fragment of my imagination, everything would be fine" she consoled herself exactly the way her grand dad had always done anything she had such nightmare.

she was relieved that that was nothing but a dream, a really terrible dream but then something really baffled her.

she had had this dream not once not twice but constantly since her childhood days.

but why?.

she's the type who always had nightmare even from when she was little and she had never knew why she had such dreams or what the dream meant but it was always the same she would wake up screaming and her grand dad would always say the same thing.

"it's fine, it's just a fragment of your imagination, everything would be okay, " he would say that and she would always feel better but now that he's no more she just had to console herself now.

she shut her eyes as she took in a deep breath and then exhaled still caressing her emerald locket.

What could this dream mean?

she thought as she flashed her eyes towards the wall clock that hanged across her boyish room which was painted blue and had several boyish stickers hanging around.

she took in the features of the clock and then she exclaimed.

"7:30!!" she threw the duvet away.

school starts by 8 and she's just getting up.

she's really in a big mess.

she climbed down the bed quickly as she headed for the washroom to do her business and who exactly is she??

She's none other than, Kaylee Morgan a 16 year old teenager or perhaps a nerd per the sayings of her fellow classmates.

she lived with her big sister Rosie, a fashion designer or should we say, soon to be fashion designer.

Her house wasn't really amazing but we could say it's okay for two young ladies who stayed alone.

Her room isn't so big and classy like those rich kids but it was average sized with a nice mini bed at the middle and it had a study table at the side with other little accessories needed in a room.

Her parents weren't dead nor were they sick or something, they were actually fully alive but they didn't stay with them, they moved to England for some reason leaving her and her sister Rosie who was just in her mid-twenties to stay on their own.

people would classify her parents as careless and unloving like who would leave their kids for so long and go stay some where far away, it was just so unheard of and callous of them but then, it's was all because of work.

[ SOME MINUTES LATER ]

Kaylee was all done with preparing, she had showered and she got dressed on a pair of sweats shirt and a baggy trouser and then she wore her white sneakers.

she hurriedly tied the lace of her shoes and she didn't even comb her hair or apply on some makeup like other teen girls of now days did, infant she doesn't wear make up at all.

To her. it was just a waste of precious time. No one looked at her or cared how she looks anyways so what's the use.

She rushed down the stairs with her back pack hanging loosely over her left shoulder.

she ran off to the kitchen and in there, standing by the gas range was Rosie her elder sister, tall, fair and slender with nice curly brown hair.

She was indeed beautiful though but not as Kaylee.

Only if Kaylee knew how pretty she was she would never think of under estimating herself.

Rosie flipped pancakes while Kaylee rushed off to pick her lunch pack which Rosie had already packed.

"Good morning sis" she greeted.

"Morning cupcake, how was your...." she turned only to find Kaylee already running out.

"Hey?!"

"sorry, am gonna be late if I don't hurry" she yelled from the living room.

"okay but be back early, you know we've got plans" Rosie yelled back.

"alright! " replied Kaylee.

Rosie had planned on using Kaylee as a model for her designs.

she usually does that.

.....

As Kaylee rode her bike, the thought of what's to come in school today racked up through her mind.

She had planned to just get to school and be on her best behavior and not draw any attention to herself but was that even possible?.

Kaylee is actually a good student, quiet, got good grades and she always keep to herself but that still didn't stop her from being bullied on daily basis by the top students who believed they were superior and the rest students such as Kaylee were underneath them.

Kaylee always had a hard time dealing with the students and to top it all, the teachers apparently also enjoyed tormenting her.

it all felt like they despised her.

it's even surprising how she was able to make it through junior high and up to this level with all the torments she received.

she was indeed strong but would it actually be for long?
