2 New Guardian

I flew down on top a building to get a better look.

It was actually a vampire in an alley hiding in the shadows. I saw his target a few miles away; a young lady about in her early 20s.

I waited without being spotted until the lady was near him, then I jumped down behind him and held him in a clutch.

"Purifying Light: Ember." I said with a finger pointed at his neck, he tried to escape but it was too late and the light enveloped him, burning his soul to ashes.

I dragged his hollow body into the shadows and searched it for clues on demon hideouts ín town. I found a piece of paper with an address and time.

It was already 6am so I flew back home. I got back and Luke was already awake and eating breakfast. I waited for him to leave for basketball practice at school since it was a Saturday.

I got to work immediately, I used his laptop to check out the address, the address was actually for a strip club downtown. I looked up some photos and it reminded me vaguely of somewhere I've been before...then it clicked.

I sat there frozen in place as the memories came flooding back. It was the place I got stranded on earth. The mission was to eradicate the demons using the place as their hideout. I clenched my fists, cleared the browsing history and jumped out the window.

I started flying towards the building. Whatever they were doing was about to start. I reached the building and waited for someone to pass while hiding my wings.

I saw a werewolf in its human form and killed it quickly. I took its ID and clothes, then used it to enter the privately rented club. The place was a hellhole, there were demons and stripers everywhere, and this stench. I walked around a bit before running into another vampire at the bar, he was wearing a long black trench coat like a cartoon vampire with his hat on the counter. He looked pretty important so I toke note of it.

"Hey, you over there." He called.

"yea?" I responded, walking over to him.

"Take a seat, I'll buy you a couple drinks." He said taking a shot of vodka.

"So what's this all about?" I asked, taking the opportunity to gather intel.

"I'm hosting a meeting in this fabulous establishment. We're discussing how to beat the angels once and for all. My teammates and I already won against them two years ago and I kept this little souvenir." He explained as he spread "his" wings, "Hey why don't I take your number for safe keeping?"

"Why don't you take this!" I yelled, and even though I knew the drawbacks, I used my most powerful spell, "Divine Judgements: Sword of Demon Banishment!"

I felt the immense strain on my body and the splitting headache but it was worth it for Matt's revenge.

A dome of light formed around the building and it started collapsing, effectively trapping all the demons for phase two; a giant golden sword appeared in the sky with a loud rumble of thunder and started lowering towards the building.

I looked over to the gaping guy beside me, "Besides, you're not my type. Angels don't get along with demons." I smirked before ripping Matt's wings right off his back then I flew out of the dome as screams filled the background.

I watched as the entire place within the dome was razed by the golden sword with not even a single demon escaping, then I flew back home.

Most of my energy was already spent. When I got home, it was already getting late but Luke wasn't home yet.

I started getting suspicious so I went to his school to check if he was still as football practise. He wasn't. And that's when I started panicking.

I checked all his usual spots like Starbucks and all his friends' houses, but he wasn't there either. I went back to his school, in my human form, and started checking around again and asking teachers if they knew where he was.

The last time he was seen was after practice with some. I got their names and addresses from the principal's office then went back to the field to check for traces. I found some of Luke's things left on the benches and his phone, which was on silent.

I took a tour around the neighborhood to check if any of the previously mentioned teammates were at their houses, and none of them were. I started piecing things together.

I came back to the school and made sure I checked for secluded or hidden places and it took a while but I found a small secret building in the woods near the school. I took note of the location and details of the situation before entering the building in my hidden angel form and searching for Luke.

I found a room with some guys in masks before sneaking past and going up the stairs. I checked all the rooms upstairs until I got to the last one. There was a woman guarding it with a gun. I hid behind a corner and plucked off a single feather from my wings, then I proceeded to throw it at the woman ninja star style.

She passed out after a few seconds then I made my way into the last room. It pure horror. They had tortured Luke until he even started bleeding, it was simply horrific, I noticed the weapons and blood adorning the walls and floor. Luke himself was lying unconscious on the floor. I immediately ran up to him, I inspected his body for fatal injuries or injured organs, thankfully there were none.

I got a message? notification? anyways I was informed that I was Luke's new guardian angel and I had to do everything in my power to protect him.

I tried waking him up but it didn't then all of a sudden at the worst possible time, the guys downstairs stormed into the room shooting everything. I had to cover Luke and myself with my wings to protect him from the bullets. Just because the bullets can't hurt me doesn't mean they aren't painful. They are, they really are.

"Don't let wings escape, he's the target!" The man who seemed like the group leader yelled.
