1 Pilot/Chapter 0: the New Era's Dawn

Minterra. A world that was not unlike our own. A fertile planet full of life and home to many ecosystems. Humananity had dominated this world through technological feats and sheer determination to rise above the limitations of nature rather then the individual strength of any one person.

Life marched on. regardless of wars, famines, pestilence, or any natural disaster. Humanity remained firmly ontop. Kingdoms rose and fell, the industrial age came and changed how people traversed and the fields of battle grew in scale. This pace seemed like it would only speed up. People thought that they had everything mapped out. They thought that history could be used to figure out where humanity was heading. That, if you fallow the records back far enough, you will find all the patterns ahead.

But, what if you come across something from before history? Something that will forever change all paradigms. Something that can't be fought against or changed. Something that is so deeply ingrained into your very being, that you don't even realize that it's there...

The year was 5,984HE(Human Era: Counting the years of recorded history under humanity) when, what was at the time, believed to be an act of bio terrorism caused people across the world over to change. First it started as seemingly random instances, but people started to collapse almost without warning. Panic broke out as the governments tried to keep order. As the numbers of people who collapsed skyrocketed into the millions by the 24hr mark. By the 48hr mark the number of afflicted had reached past one billion. By the 72hr mark humanity had gone silent.

Four days later a new dawn had come. The Era of Humanity was over.

While nobody truly understands why it happened, everyone now understands the weight of the the event. Dragon's Dawn. Humanity as a whole had ceased to exist. 30% of the population died out. The old and the sick couldn't live through the process. 20% completely lost themselves. No trace of who they were existed in mind or body. the remaining 50% while changed, were able to hold onto their memories and the fundamental nature of their humanity. During the last hours of humanity some scientists were able to discover the link between the pandemic was a dormant gene that all humans carried. previously it was buried deeply and had never shown to have a purpose, and was wrongly labeled "Junk DNA". However, the Why, no longer matters. Only what's next holds importance.

From the end of humanity gave the rise of Draconoids. Humanoids with features from the dragons of legend.

What stories will this new era for the world have? Will it be a tale of growth and enrichment from the ashes of humanity's mistakes or will the people never break free of the chains of war? Only in time, will the answers come to the light of truth.
