13 Grim's Plight

Grim Fenris woke to see that it was already late afternoon, the skies had already gone dark blue from the gradual absence of sunlight, and with Dart's tongue licking him across his face.

"I am up." Grim said while caressing his bruised face. "That asshole really did not hold back, eh?" He said with a confident grin. "Fair enough. I would not respect him if he did. Heh."

"What do we do now, Grim? We should have just joined up with that scary person if it meant having a bed and roof under our heads…" Dart added.

Grim patted Dart on the head and smiled. "We do not need people like that, Dart, we're going to make our own name in this city, don't worry."

They both went back to the Six Symphonies Tavern and begged Marko to let them stay here for a bit until they find a place on their own. "Fine. But keep in mind that I am only doing this because I feel like this is the least I could do for your late grandfather, why did you not accept the Sunstrider's invitation to join the Luna Wolves? I cannot understand you two…" Marko said as he scratched the back of his head.

"The chimeras are slowly resurging and coming back to the world once again, that can only mean one thing…" Grim said. "And what would that one thing be, mister Grim?" Marko asked him. "Chimera Hunters will be on the rise, and the King already knows of this, he even appointed the Sunstrider as the very first Chimera Hunter of Vanheim, I will be the second best!" Grim exclaimed at the top of his lungs. Dart followed shortly after and let out a squeaky scream.

"Alright, calm down you two." After thinking about it for quite some time, Marko thought that there was actually some sort of truth to Grim's predictions. "You know…that could actually work. Very well, once you get your first bag of gold coins, then you will start to pay your rent in order to stay in this room, are we clear on that?" Marko said. Both Grim and Dart nodded aggressively. "Okay, we have a deal, then."
