3 CHAPTER THREE:HANDSOME

Standing before me is the most beautiful not handsome but beautiful man known to mankind. His grey locks lay on his shoulders in a low ponytail. His piercing golden brown eyes fixated solely on me, pin me down in a cold stare. His perfectly carved lips set in a straight line. He is dressed in a pale baby blue shirt and dark wash jeans, his tie hangs loosely around his neck. His face defined by a strong jaw line and the power radiating off of him too much to handle. His olive skin glows in the dimly lit room as we find ourselves in a stare down.

"why are you in here when no one gave you permission to be here" he says finally breaking the silence in the room. His voice is very deep and raspy, the sexiest thing l have ever heard. I can feel my inner groupie awaken.

" I was not aware that l needed permission to be in here, my apologies" my voice sounds weak and shows my intimidation, bringing shame to my own ears. Clearing my throat, l look away from the Adonis in front of me afraid he will unlock all the secrets l wish to keep locked away.

" If you don't mind me asking, how did l get here?" l ask voicing one of the billion questions eating away at my sanity.

It takes a minute for him to answer, it seems as if he is debating with himself as to what to tell me. " one of the hunters found you in the woods in the middle of the night passed out and wet and brought you to me" he responds. His eyes lock mine down as he speaks afraid l will most probably freak out.

" but how come l can't remember any on that"

"like l said, you were passed out. I had the doctor check on you and he says you hurt your head on a hard surface cracking your skull" l look at him intently for any signs of lies but he keeps a straight face. After two seconds he bursts out laughing and l swear my heart skipped a beat.

"You should have seen your face. But seriously the impact was too severe and it might result in memory loss" that explains why l have no recollection of anything.

"thank you" l say sincerely.

"For what?" he asks confused. I guess providing shelter to injured girls is normal here

"Most people would have fed me to the wolves but you opened your home to me so l could have a comfortable place to rest my head while l heal"

"It was the humanely thing to do. Don't thank me"

He looks at me for a second before turning to leave, as he opens the door to the library, he turns to me one last time. " it will be best if you don't come back here unless permitted by me to. After you" he says stepping out of the way and allowing me to follow. He closes the door to the library and locks it, putting the keys in the pocket of his jeans.

Without a word or even a second glance he is out of sight. Sighing, l try to find my way back to the room that l am currently occupying. The maze that is this house making that simple task impossible.

After what felt like eternity l find myself in the kitchen. Elegance is the only word that can best describes it. A shaky breath leaves my mouth as my hands run down the marble counter tops. The shelves are made of glass and filled to the brim, l open a door that leads to the pantry and to say lm astonished would be an understatement. Different brands of food lay stacked on the shelves. Next to the pantry is a glass door that opens up to reveal the fridge and as you guessed full as well. All the appliances in the kitchen seem modernised.

A bell sounds in the house startling me. Looking around l see men and women making their way into the kitchen, about ten to be exact. They divide themselves into groups of three and start pulling out different ingredients from both the pantry and fridge. Not wanting to disturb, l silently make my way out of the kitchen and to my luck bump into the lady l met earlier.

" what are you doing out of bed, you are not completely healed" she says sternly as if scolding a child.

" l got bored and decided to see the place. Now lm lost and can't get back to my room" l sat exasperated. She takes my hand and leads me down a hallway and up a flight of stairs.

"l never did get your name" I say to try and make conversation.

"Rosa" such a beautiful name. Simple but it suits her perfectly with her rosy cheeks that sit upon pale skin. She is short and plump with waist long charcoal black hair . She has got one of the most beautiful smiles l have ever seen. She has the ability to bring out the sun on a cloudy day. So innocent but wise. But her wrinkly eyes hold sadness. A sadness that eats away a my heart making me think of a different ways to replace it with joy. The feeling of nostalgia hits me and my head starts to pound. As if noticing my distress Rosa quickens her pace and in no time l find myself being tucked into bed by a very worried looking Rosa

" darling, you are not yet healed and l would appreciate it if you don't leave your room until l give you the green light." she says. " tell you what, when you get better l will give you a tour of the house alright but for now rest "

Not having any other choice but to agree, Rosa tells me she will be back later to check on me and bring my dinner.

" Rosa if it's not any trouble, when you come back later could you please bring me a book to read" my love for books is the only thing that will save me from boredom.
