2 Episode 2

March 5th, 2020.

Jacq woke up slowly, he felt his muscles a little sore. Taking a moment to think, he recalled why his body was in this state.

"I ended up exercising too much. We are going to die anyways, so I figured I would just enjoy myself. However... did that really happen yesterday?"

Jacq got up and switched on his desktop. Taking a few moments to load, the desktop was ready to be used. He quickly went to the local news website. Reading a brief overview of the situation from yesterday, he spotted a link related to the "Life and Death of Earth Tournament". Clicking it, he soon arrived to a new website.

"Things to know about the outsiders! What happened on March 4th, 2020 was NOT a joke. We are doing our best to gather all the resources we can to provide the future 1,000 participants. Failure is not an option." The information provided seemed pretty straight forward.

There was also a list of all the countries that had signed the Universal Defense Pact, as well as a brief summary of the "outsiders". They were called "Galaxy Warriors"... or that is what their true name translated to from their language to ours. As for how they learned English? They had transcended the level of "Mortals". They were no longer bound by the laws like gravity, slow thinking,weakness of the body and other sicknesses. Only things that exceeded their level could injure them, possibly even kill.

These beings were like humans as well, but their planet, called "8th Star of Solis", produced natural energy. This energy is called "Spirit Energy" and anything or anyone who absorbed a certain amount of it could step onto the path of immortality. There was a system which one comprehended when absorbing the Spirit Energy. No one knows why it was like this, but when someone reached a new level, the name of the "Realm" and the "Stage" would be clearly known to them. Slowly, all the stronger beings of the vast universe gathered and formulated a rank system. It was briefly shown to us on the website, since there would be humans that potentially had a chance to interact with the Spirit Energy.

There were total of 4 "Realms". Each "Realm" was a unique level, people of a lower Realm could not fight those on a higher Realm. The Realms were as followed:

Spirit Gathering- A stage where practitioners would be able to gather the Spirit Energy which would slowly evolve their bodies. Any life forms could extend their life span by 500% of the original. This would mean that any human at this Realm would be able to live until the age of 500-550.

Spirit Building- The next stage on the realms. This stage could completely suppress anyone on the Spirit Gathering Realm. Practitioners on this stage would use the Spirit they had gathered earlier and build a Spirit Sea in the back of their mind. The bigger the Spirit Sea, the more skills one could use. This Spirit Sea would require some time to build, most would never achieve this Realm due to low talent. The life expectancy of this Realm reaches a much higher level.

Spirit Refining- The third Realm. This Realm would refine the Spirit Sea into a much more unique state. This was the only information on the website, showing how hard it would be to achieve this realm.

Spirit Pillar- A Realm which is far above all else. This is a Realm to be feared. In the past 10,000 human years, there has been no sightings of this Realm. People believe this is the Realm of the gods.

Reading more, Jacq found that each Realm was broken into stages. There were 6 stages in each Realm which would show how far one has understood the Realm they were in.

Lower Level- This stage is the beginning for all Realms. This stage merely scratches the surface of the Realms. The highest point a Lower Level could achieve is 25% comprehension of the Realm.

Middle Level-

Upper Level-

Full Level-

Peak Level- Reaching the peak of comprehension, any person who has achieved over 91% would become a Peak Level Warrior.

Half Step- This is the last stage in any Realms. A warrior at this stage has comprehended at least 99% of their Realms. The last 1% is small, but the hardest to achieve. Anyone at this level would be the a apex warrior of their Realm. They are just a push away from achieving enlightenment and entering the next Realm.

There was also a sentence that Jacq noted. "Any Spirit Gathering Lower Level warrior could fight an army of 100,000 humans." Judging by this statement, it was easy to see that the opposition only needed to bring an army of 1,000,000 warriors and they could leave the Earth in a blood bath.

"No wonder we have no chance at fighting back and to top it off, even our strongest nukes were like child's play in front of these beings." Jacq made a rough guess from the information he had just gained from the website.

There was a video of a nuke being sent towards a warrior, who simply held his hand and stopped the nuke. The outer layer of the nuke started to crack and break before turning into small particles. This happened to the insides of the nuke as well. It was easy to see that the nukes were just bigger in size, but had no power compared to them.

What made Jacq interested was, when the warrior stopped the nuke, his body seemed to glow a light blue.

"That must be the so called "Spirit Energy" being used," Jacq pondered. "Oh well, guess there's nothing we can do. Oh! It says that school will still continue? Expected nothing less from the government."

Jacq got up and did some light stretches before going into the bathroom to refresh himself. Brushing his teeth, Jacq took a hot shower before grabbing his clothes. After he finished getting ready, he walked to the kitchen. Usually he finds his food ready for him, but today he saw someone for the first time in his house.

"Um... who are you?" Jacq asked while looking for anything to help him in this situation. There was a knife in the persons hand. Noticing this, Jacq started to look for a way to defend himself.
