1 Episode 1

March 4th, 2020.

Jacq Gremni had just finished his classes and was walking down the hall. He was average looking, with a height of 1.60 meters. At the age of 13, his height could be called decent. His hair was dark brown, going down to his shoulders. His body type wasn't too bulky, but neither was it too fragile. It had more of a lean muscle type feel to it. Today was a typical day for him, it started the same and ended just as common as it could be.

As he arrived home, his house was quiet. This was normal, no one lived in his house except him. He always had food prepared and waiting for his arrival in the refrigerator. As for how it gets there, he does not know. All he can think of is the letter he received when he was 8.

The building will continue to function and there will always be fresh food prepared for you. Do your best in studies and stay away from trouble. We will meet again some time soon. It's been more than five years since then and he had gotten used to living alone like this. Slowly he started expanding his horizon, learning some basic martial arts, keeping his body in shape. By the age of 10 he could lift 50 kg in weights. Everyday he toned his body after doing his homework. He would do an extra study session while his body was cooling down. Like that, this life of his had became a norm.

Today he finished his homework early. With half an hour to spare, he turned on the television to watch anime. Just as he was watching the trailer for a new anime being released, there was a sudden change to the program. His anime was replaced by news.

"News...? What could have happened that they decided to change all the channels to show the same broadcast?" He questioned no one in particular as his finger pressed the buttons, surfing through the channels one by one only to see the same broadcast. Thinking on it, he decided to stop and watch since it might be important.

"There was a major radio wave detected two months ago. Upon closer inspection, we have confirmed that this sound was released from an Unidentified Flying Object, also known to many as a UFO. The country leaders all gathered together last month, forming a pact which was known as the Universal Defense Pact. The leaders all gathered the elite astronauts and sent groups of them to space to meet with the said UFO. The response? Here is what we received." The news lady said with an anxious expression on her face.

_Mortals, do you wish to step out of the boundaries of mankind? Think no further. We have decided to hold a competition for your kind. If you succeed, you will become the ultimate king of this tiny pebble called Earth. However, if all participants fail, the same result will follow the race of humanity. Death. We will hold this competition according to the human calendar. With that being said, on April 2nd, 2020, there will be 1,000 entrance tokens. These tokens will be distributed at random. There will be 500 of the so called "Elite soldiers" and 500 regular civilians. The selected people will have 1 month thereafter to prepare themselves. On May 2nd 2020, the participants will be sent to a world of its own. The place will be monitored for all the remaining humans to see. Whether you succeed or fail will determine the outcome of your race,_ a booming voice sounded.

Just hearing the voice itself, one could see they had surpassed the humans of earth. As the voice ended, a small video was shown. The place where humans would would fight for their existence was called Gyoaph. It was half the size of our moon with active volcanoes, fearsome thunderstorms and waves that could crush skyscrapers. After the video ended, the camera turned the president of the Universal Defense Pact.

"There is no need to panic, the country leaders have already tried their best. We have sent our strongest nukes as well as the special forces, however neither was successful. We will have to simply do our best and hope that we are successful. When the 1,000 participants are selected, they will be given various training and resources for 3 weeks. With this, we may have a slightly higher chance of succeeding. In the end, this comes down to our luck. With the current strength of the opposition, we have no means of fighting back and can only do as they ask. God save us all." The broadcast was finished with the fearful look on the presidents face.

A website was launched which would show what was said as well as the videos that were played for anyone that had missed it. This day marked the point in time where the humans finally learned the existence of other beings in the vast universe. Although it was shown to the public in an orderly fashion, the people couldn't stay calm. Soon riots were being reported, but at this time the thundering voice sounded again.

_Humans, the path that has been shown will either make your race or break it. If you intend to destroy yourselves, then allow me. I can achieve this goal faster. If you do not wish for that to happen, then act civil until your fate has been decided when the 1,000 participants have all either died or some have succeeded._

With the voice sounding, the chaos finally settled down. But even though the chaos settled down on the surface, there was still chaos in the heart of the people.

"I guess this is the end of humanity" Jacq said casually. He had heard how profound the voice was. It reminded him of some memories. The memories were not too clear so he didn't know everything. He just made this guess based on the lack of information that he had.

"This is also a good thing I suppose. Now I don't have to pay attention to school ha ha" a smirk appeared on Jacq's face.

He got up and went into his room, the days events still clear in his mind. He decided to not go to school tomorrow unless stated otherwise. Picking up the weights, he finished doing his daily routine before showering and going to sleep.

He looked forward to the next day, it should be full of more events like today. After all, this did mark the beginning of a new era for mankind... if they survived that is.
