13 Episode 13

Jacq opened the introductory book which seemed light for it's looks. The overall thickness of said book was about five centimeters, the length a little over thirty centimeters and the width eighteen centimeters. It seemed like a typical textbook from high school.

"So it is true, never judge a book by its cover," Jacq chuckled softly in his head. Having anticipated the weight to be as heavy as the text books back home, he was slightly shocked to find that it was light, too light. "It's almost as if I am carrying a single piece of paper."

Time slowly passed as Jacq flipped through the book. As he progressed on, there would be terms that he could not understand, however The System told him it was only temporary. Once he gained a bit more knowledge in the specific fields, the confusion would disperse slowly. He learned everything from Spiritual Herbs, which were herbs that have been exposed to Spiritual Energy, all the way to the Cultivation Methods that were available for humans. He even learned more about the Obsidian Snake Sect and the ranks of the elders he had seen earlier.

"So Janis the Fifth Elder is almost at the Spirit Refining Middle Level while the other seventeen are stuck at the Lower Level of the same Stage. This is why Janis seems to have absolute control over everything on the space ship," Jacq pondered slowly.

He wasn't necessarily wrong. On the 8th Star of Solis, there were many Cultivation Sects who ruled over the land. Majority of them are the First rank sects, meaning they have someone at the Spirit Gathering Realm Peak Level, almost Half Step into the next Realm. So judging by that alone, the strength of the Obsidian Snake Sect was quite strong. All of their Elders were stronger than any First rank sects. This qualified their sect to be at the Second Rank. Of the five hundred official sects on the planet, this was the only one of ten Second rank sect.

There used to be Third rank sects in the past, but due to the lack of natural treasures, the sects were slowly starting to dissipate. Because of the low amounts of resources, a majority of the Third rank sects fought with each other, causing major losses of their elders. As a result, this lowered their sect rank when all the elders of the Spirit Refining Realm died in the war between sects.

The battle lasted for only one year, but the casualties exceeded any other wars in the history of the planet. With the power houses of each sect slaughtering each other, any weak cultivators caught in the cross fire would turn into a bloody mist. The land was filled with severed body parts, rivers of blood could be seen from far. The entire planet at the time looked like hell, there was no safe zone, even the mortals of the planet suffered. Seeing such a situation develop, the remaining Spirit Refining Realm cultivators had a meeting to decide their next course of action.

Knowing that the war would mean the end of the planet due to the constant killing of humans as well as wild life, the elders of the said Realm all formed a seal around the world. In total, there were five hundred seals, hence the five hundred official sects. These seals all formed a big seal which would prevent their planet from any hostility of the Spirit Refining Realm and lower. This lowered the danger of their current planet from any outside forces who would use this opportunity to take the 8th Star of Solis. Each seal would limit any cultivators of the Spirit Building Realm and lower from attacking with hostility. The attacking cultivators would lower half their Spiritual Energy and take extra damage from any of the five hundred sects.

This caused many cultivators to stop fighting and go back to cultivating to break past the barriers set up. Just as no one under Spirit Refining Realm could not enter the planet, anyone below that Realm could not leave either, unless they met the specific criteria. In order to exit the planet, the cultivators must sign a blood pact with any of the five hundred sect's Sect Masters. This pact would ensure that their planet would not be greeting any unnecessary visitors who were brought over from the fleeing cultivators.

Any actions that would cause harm to the 8th Star of Solis, would bring upon the Heaven's Punishment. The party breaking the pact would be burnt to smithereens from the lightning bolt that the Heaven's use to punish any being for breaking their blood pact. This makes the value of blood pacts high and cultivators always use this method to determine if anyone is lying. There is no known way to avoid this punishment to the cultivators of the 8th Star of Solis.

Due to this war, the five hundred sects would always go on a galactic expedition every fifty years to find good seeds for their sects. This method consumed resources, but the amount was small compared to the results. While it is true that they are searching for good disciples, they also keep an eye out for natural treasures as well as Spirit Stones. Due to poor luck, Earth was discovered during this expedition which led to the current situation.

As Jacq finished thinking, he continued reading further. This time the book mentioned Spiritual Ores and natural treasures. The latter was a bit confusing with so little information provided that it did not help Jacq at all. However Jacq wasn't upset one bit because he finally saw progress in his stats. He had finally found out how to progress further, things that contained or used Spiritual Energy would provide him the knowledge that he had been looking for.

After enjoying the small victory, Jacq went back to reading. This time his goal was to read the Cultivation Method for humans. He had seen cultivators and he had to agree, they were pretty sick. The amount of power they held made him think of super heroes. Even with his older mentality compared to other kids his age, he was excited to learn this method. Thinking about all the cool things from flying, shattering mountains, to parting the seas with his hands, Jacq put his entire effort into learning this Cultivation Method.

The day turned into night, besides stopping to eat and sleep, Jacq spent the rest of the time reading and trying to understand the Cultivation Method. Sadly, he could only give up as he failed to comprehend it.

"Sigh," Jacq sat in his spot, "I don't understand a single thing, at this rate I will die once we arrive at Gyoaph."

He wasn't sad about not being able to survive on Gyoaph as much as he was sad about not being able to fly in the skies. Flying in the skies is something that humans were never supposed to accomplish, it's why they weren't born with wings. To be able to go against Heaven's Law would be a great feeling for Jacq, sadly he could not complete this dream.

"Maybe the method isn't made for you, it is a shit method to be honest," A voice that Jacq hadn't heard in a few hours sounded in his head.

"Oh? So there are more methods Nero?" Jacq responded. After becoming tired of calling the voice The System over and over, Jacq decided to give it a name. He had planned on calling it Trump for shits and giggles, but "Nero" did not sound amused and said it wished to be called Nero. Since it had decided to go with Nero, Jacq couldn't rebuke.

"Yes, there are actually some that were made by the cultivation genre light novels which aren't that bad when compared to this.. shit one." Nero replied calmly.

"Well that's great! Let me just go and ask that scary elder Janis to turn the space ship around so that I could grab these novels," Jacq replied with sarcasm. When he first heard Nero, he was excited, but that excitement turned into anger when he heard the full thing.

"There's no need for that. As long as it is not anything with Spiritual energy, I can tell you about it. As for the light novels, it does indeed mention Spiritual Energy and other types of energies. They do not actually contain the Spiritual Energy inside of it. In short, you can ask me about anything that is related to Earth, however there are some things that I will refuse to tell you." Saying this much, Nero then asked Jacq to eat and go back to sleep so that it could start transferring thousands of light novels into his head. The process was slow and a bit painful, but if anyone else saw it, they would be shocked. Jacq was receiving full details of the entire novel in an hour, this speed was insane to others.

While Jacq spent his time laying down and absorbing the information, three other trainees looked towards him with vicious eyes.

"He will be the perfect person for us to use to get those crystals," said one of them in a low voice.
