14 Test Explained

Author's note :- This is a short chapter as i was not feeling well for some days, the updates might be a little delayed because of health issues but don't worry i will try my best to update the series and give you guys timely updates.

Sword spirit started explaining how the test works and what does each question mean.

The first question was "I speak without a mouth and hear without ears. I have no body, but come alive with wind. Tell me what am I?"

And the answer was Echo.

Echo or sound,

Whenever a sword shall be swung there shall not be any sound of it swing.

Each and every sword swing shall be a soundless movement.

Lumia replied "hmm, I understand now why I got the sword labelled as sound was given to me."

Sword spirit said "Now onto the second question."

The second question was "I have cities, But no house. I have mountains, But no trees. I have water, But no fish. Tell me what am I?"

The answer to this question was "Map".

A sword shall always know it`s mark, the exact location where it shall cut. It shall never miss its target.

Lumia replied "I understand."

Sword spirit said "Now onto our third question."

"I am at the start of eternity, At end of eternity, I have seen the birth of everything and End of everything. I am harmless to everyone yet I can kill and destroy everything. What am I?"

And the answer to this question was "TIME".

Do you know why?

Lumia replied "No, I don`t."

Sword spirit said, "Let me tell you so."

Whenever you think of doing an action and when you actually do that action, There is a difference of time, those moments are not instant and there are bound to be unnecessary moments in this task.

However, when you are holding a sword and using it, there shouldn't be any of those unnecessary moments, there should not be any time between the thought and the action.

Lumia replied "I understand it now."

Sword spirit said "Now we shall move on to our next question."

The next question was "I soar without wings; I see without eyes. I've travelled the universe to and from. I've conquered the world, yet I've never been anywhere but home. Who am I?"

The answer to this question was Imagination or Thought.

Do you know why? And why were you getting cuts all over your body?

Lumia replied "I don't"

"Okay then." Sword spirit said.

First, I shall explain what and how you were being attacked by.

That was all your imagination. Each time you thought of an attack coming towards you, it had become a reality back then.

Your body believed that it was being attacked and it produced those attacks and cuts by itself, because you were not in control of your thoughts and mind.

A swordsman's mind shall be free of any kind of thought when holding a sword, whenever he swings that sword, there shouldn't be any kind of unnecessary thought inside his/her mind.

Lumia replied "Now I understand why I stopped being attacked as I tried to control my mind and thoughts."

Sword spirit replied "Yes my dear, you must have learned about this somewhere before but it doesn't matter you have learned about this as it was your own hard work which helped you in the end."

Lumia replied "Yes, it was my father, the one who has Taught me this."

Sword spirit replied "Oh, he might be an exemplary swordsman, not that it matters anyways."

Lumia said "My father, the previous owner of you, how can you not know this?"

Sword spirit replied "I know who your father was, he had taken the test too, but he didn't manage to pass the test. So I never acknowledge him as my owner."

Lumia didn't believe what she had just heard, for her, her father was the best swordsman in the world, her father who had fought against the strongest evil and even managed to corner him alone, was not able to pass the sword spirit`s test.

Lumia said "So, you are saying that I didn't pass but I did?"

Sword spirit replied "yes my dear, that's what I mean."

Sword spirit continues "Now, I shall explain the last question"

The last test, you have defeated me. Or that It seems on the surface. But in reality, you were fighting against yourself.

The reason why you were able to win is because you were able to make your sword swing natural. A sword swing should be natural, it should be nature itself, devoid of any killing intent, any thought, any sound, and instant. The last test is for checking if you have all of this.

Lumia replied "If all the tests are finished please let me go, I have to train to become powerful, so that I can get revenge for my parents and family members, who had died to protect me."

Sword spirit replied "Your training is already completed, and now all you need is the experience of fighting against enemies, so let us bid farewell to this world now as there are no enemies here."

Lumia replied "What do you mean, my training is completed? It's barely been 2 days here."

Sword spirit replied "Oh, it seems I forgot to tell you earlier."

Lumia asked "What?"

Sword spirit replied "Flow of time here is different from the outside world, Time is just an illusion here. 6 minutes outside is equal to 1 year here, it's no wonder you didn't know about it."

Lumia asked "What are you talking about, if it really has been 500 years then I would have died a long time ago, but I am still alive."

Sword spirit replied "You are indeed right, that might be the case if you were a human, but the thing is you are not completely human and you have a body which is compatible with magic and spirits the most, so by using their help, you can theoretically live forever. And you wouldn't even age a bit."

Lumia is shocked hearing this and she questions herself how is this even possible.

Lumia asked "Tell me, If I am not completely human then what am i?"

Sword spirit replied "Who knows, you have the blood and magic of all the species out there is mixed into your body. But one thing is for sure, your parents were a human and a demon."

Lumia said "Please explain to me all the details."

Sword spirit replied "My my, there is no need to hurry, we have all the time in the world. But we shall leave this place first."

Then sword spirit snapped her finger and now Lumia back at her place.

It is the same place which she has chosen to stay and practice for the time being.

She is back but there are still a lot of questions which were still left in her mind, which she needs answers to.
