7 Aftermath of Killer
Sun rises from his deep slumber for full night and spread its warmth light across the city of "Soirault". This is the capital of "Sleozia Empire" and the home to the most prestige institution of the whole world "The Imperial Academy".
The city of "Soirault" was built atop the steep facade of a mighty fjord and is truly a classic metropolis. Its beauty is matched by the backdrop of lush forests which have helped shape the city to what it is today.
The trade resources these forests brought were of great importance, but they were also influential when it came to architectural designs as the vast majority of buildings have been built alongside the trees and often incorporate many different forest elements.
The skyline is growing with elegant skyscrapers and each seems to evolve with the times without losing their history. Parks and gardens are flourishing in Soirault and it has attracted a lot of attention. Countless cultures have left their mark not just on the city's cuisine, but also upon the city's identity. What historically was a city of few cultures has grown into a multicultural hub and it's this that unites the thousands of people to this day.
It's this multicultural identity that has truly left its mark. Hundreds of bistros, bars and take-outs offer a plethora of culinary choices and those who feel hungry for something else can enjoy sport activities, arcades, aerobics or one of the many other recreational venues.
Eliza wakes up and goes for a bath as she soon has to attend the classes at the Imperial Academy.
She eats her breakfast and packs some of the breakfast for later.
She gets ready for the classes but it is still too early for the classes to begin. She exits the house and walks down the street while carrying lunch and a schoolbag.
Sometime later she arrived at a Two-story building and knocked on the door. A voice of a female comes from the inside and says to come in.
As soon as she opens the door she is greeted by lots of children who jumped at her in excitement.
She falls to the ground but the children didn`t stop as they are very happy to see her.
Then a lady approached them and asked the children to let go of her.
Then the children let her go.
She helped Eliza stand up, Then she asked everyone to apologise to Miss Eliza for their misbehaviour.
Everyone apologises to Eliza.
What is this place, why are there so many children and why are they happy to see Eliza.
This is the orphanage. Eliza helps the orphanage to take care of the children because she didn't want them to go through the same fate as she has.
Eliza asked in very exciting voice "Who`s Hungry, I got breakfast for everyone."
Everyone shouted at the same time "MEEEEE."
She unpacked the lunch she had packed earlier and asked everyone to sit in formal fashion around the table.
Everyone took their seat.
Eliza started to serve breakfast to everyone one by one.
After serving breakfast to everyone she asked the children "remember to pray before eating."
Everyone started to begin the prayer.
"Most merciful Father, ruler of heaven and Earth, hears me now in my desperate hour. Sustain me with your power so I may guide others in your name. I seek this of you with true devotion, o fire in our souls. Honor me with your holy favor. We are forever grateful for what you have given us and what you have done for us."
After finishing the prayer everyone began eating.
Eliza asked the Lady is there any problem and how everybody was doing.
The lady replied "No everything has been fine lately and there is no with any of the children."
After making sure everyone has eaten and there is no problem with anything Eliza left for the academy.
She is walking towards the gate of the academy then suddenly she hears her name being called behind her.
She turned around to look.
She saw there are 4 people approaching her.
They are Isabelle, Chaleo, Jayden and Kyle.
They are wearing the formal uniform of the Imperial Academy.
The boys in the Imperial Academy wear striped, polycotton trousers that reach down to just under their knees, clearly revealing their double strap shoes, all of which are colored ochre. They're paired with short, broadly checkered socks colored crimson.
A ghost white long sleeved shirt is almost perfectly tucked into their trousers and covered with a lavish jacket. A lean tie hangs gently in the middle of their half buttoned up jacket and is horizontally striped in ochre and crimson.
The girls wear pencil skirts in ochre and they dangle down to just below their knees. They're paired with thigh high socks and brogue shoes colored in crimson and ochre respectively.
Like the boys the girls wear long sleeved shirts, which are usually roughly tucked into their skirts and are covered with a stylish jacket. They too wear a tie that hangs gently in the middle of their often unbuttoned jackets and is moderately dotted in the same colors.
All jackets are emblazoned with the school logo and, while not mandatory, many students wear various accessories, often to create a new style within the standard uniform.
Isabelle is wearing one such accessory; it's in the shape of a crown. It is a small royal crown which symbolises that she is part of the royal family.
They approached Eliza and asked "if they can accompany her to the class."
Eliza nodded in agreement.
Together they started walking towards the academy and their classroom.
They reached the classroom and took their respective seats.
Then Miss Gracia entered the classrooms and asked everyone to listen to what she had to say.
Miss Gracia begins talking "As everybody knows and is already aware of the yesterday event that happened in the academy. Taking that incident into account you all are now prohibited to leave the classroom without the teacher or security personnel of the academy. Yesterday two students lost their life and the killer is still on the loose. The academy doesn't want to let any harm come to students anymore. So I ask everyone to please cooperate.
One of the students asked "Did the academy find anything about the killer?"
Miss Gracia replied "No we didn`t, But we are working on it and we will catch the killer soon."
The students started talking to themselves.
Miss Gracia intervened "Please keep quiet, The class is about to begin so please focus on the study."
Today class is for magic spells.
She wrote a magic spell name on the board and asked the class who is going to explain about the spell.
Chaleo stands up and begins to explain the spell.
Spell name: Aqua Levis
Inventor: Arian Levis.
Effect: Fills whichever container is targeted with water.
Appearance: A fluid, silver intertwining duo of coils.
Chant: Gracious God, custodian of life, hear your humble servant. Guide my hand so I might flood the world. "Aqua Levis."
Miss Gracia replied "Very good Chaleo, that is the correct answer."
Miss Gracia asked Chaleo to sit down and continued her lecture.
Soon the lecture came to an end.
Next is Swordsmanship.
Every student is required to attend the lecture.
Today is the practical lesson.
Everybody is required to get to the academy ground for practical lessons.
Instructor is already present at the ground waiting for all the students to gather.
Today's class will focus on the Maihtihta.
Maihtiha is a swordplay style that focuses on the offense and less on the defence. It consists of continuing strike on the opponent giving them minor injuries using small attacks and when the injuries add up giving the opponent a fatal blow.
But the biggest weakness of the Maihtiha style is the lack of defence it has. And it is one of the hardest style to master; not only you need multiple years of practice but you need to have an equivalent amount of stamina and agility.
Instructor asked two students to volunteer to show how the Maihtiha style feels like.
Two student volunteers for, they are Jayden and Kyle.
Instructor asked them to take their designated position and draw their practice sword.
Both stand against each other at the both ends of the training ground waiting for the instructor`s call to start.
Then a bell rang that indicates the start.
Kyle charges head first towards Jayden while holding the sword in his right hand. He draws his sword and prepares to slash, Seeing this Jayden took a defensive pose and prepared to block the hit.
Kyle slashes the sword but Jayden defends using his sword and pushes Kyle back half a step, Kyle holds the sword in defensive style as he knows Jayden will attack seeing this opportunity.
And he was right Jayden strikes down with his sword but Kyle having predicted this was able to defend himself.
But Jayden didn't stop, he struck Kyle from the right he defended himself then Jayden strikes from the upside but also defended it. Then Jayden throws a bait to attack from the right again and Kyle falls for it, then seeing this opportunity Jayden strikes from the left and hits his arm.
Then the instructor rang the bell again indicating the end of the match.
Jayden helps Kyle stand up. Both of them bow down in respect for each other.
Instructor said to the class "As you have both seen these exchange blows, Will any of you be able to tell what are the mistakes that lead to Kyle`s defeat just now."
Everyone starts thinking but no one was able to understand what is the mistake that Kyle made, then someone put up her hand to answer the question of the instructor.
It was Isabelle who had her arm held up.
Instructor asked "Please tell Isabelle, what is the mistake that Kyle made."
Isabelle replied "As we have just seen, Kyle initiated the first attack but Jayden defended."
Everyone nodded in agreement.
Isabelle continues "Kyle has the upper hand as he initiated the attack but he stops after delivering the first blow, he didn't initiate the second attack, But on the other hand Jayden immediately followed with a second attack as soon as his first attack lands."
Instructor praised her for the right answer.
Everyone felt a little jealous as they were not able to understand such a simple thing.
Instructor scolded everyone for not being able to properly observe the battle.
Thus ended today`s classes.
