6 A Small House

Eliza took them to the main street and from where they go into a shabby looking street which is full of beggars.

At the end of the street there is a small house.

Eliza opened the door for them and they all entered the house.

She closes the door as soon as all of them enter the house.

They all took a deep breath and calmed down and looked around them.

They all are surprised at what they saw.

The house is quite small, there are holes in the roof, walls look cracked like they could fall at any moment, there is a rather unpleasant smell in the house.

There is no furniture in the house, only some clothes laying around here and there, and a single bed sheet which looks like it is used for sleeping.

Eliza said "I apologise for this place not being clean."

Chaleo asked out of interest "What is this place?"

Eliza replied with some embarrassment "It, it is my home, I live here."

What they have heard is shocking for them because they didn't believe what they are hearing, how can a beautiful looking girl like her can live at a place like this. She looked like a noble`s daughter. They all thought she is from a noble society or high class.

This is a surprising truth for them.

Isabelle asked "Do you live here alone?"

Eliza replied "Yes, Since I don`t have any parents nor any relatives who look after me."

Chaleo asked "It must be hard for you to live all alone like this?"

Eliza replied "what can I do about it, it is what fate has in store for me."

Eliza apologises to everyone for being a proper host for them.

Isabelle replied "No you don't have to, we understand it."

Eliza asked "Why are you guys looking terrified and escaped the academy like this?"

Jayden replied "You didn't know what happened at the school?"

Eliza replied "No, I was in the classroom the whole time."

Kyle explained the situation to her. There was a girl dressed in a black bodysuit with silver hair and her face was covered with a mask and she killed two of the 4th stage students in the hit. Not to mention they were elites of the academy and are in top 10.

Eliza had a shocked look on her face and asked "So what happened after that, did the academy guard apprehend her or not?"

Isabelle replied "No they were not able to catch her, after killing the students she vanishes from the location."

Eliza said "That is a rather serious matter. If she is still on loose probably everyone is not safe"

Chaleo said "Yes I think you are right, because before vanishing she looked towards us and showed a small smile on her face."

Jayden said "maybe we should go back to our home for now, and wait for the academy to deal with this matter."

Eliza replied "yes I think you are right, you all should go home, this place doesn't suit you."

Isabelle asked "what do you mean?"

Eliza replied "you guys are nobles while I am just a simple commoner, I don't think it is good for your reputation if you associate yourself with me. This will damage your reputation a lot."

They all replied at the same time "you don't have to worry about that."

Eliza replied "No you don't have to force yourself."

They all replied at the same time again "It is none of your business who we met and associated with."

Then there is silence in the room for a while.

Chaleo asked "How do you live all alone?"

Eliza replied "I got used to it."

Kyle asked "How do you earn money, surely you need money to live."

Eliza replied "I work at multiple jobs."

Jayden intervened and asked "What type of jobs?"

Eliza replied "I work as a maid, waitress, cowherd and raker"

All of them looked surprised and apologised to Eliza for asking a difficult and embarrassing question.

They bow down as an apology.

Chaleo asked "why multiple jobs?"

Eliza replied "The pay from a single job is enough for me but there are lots of children nearby who are suffering and don't have anyone they can depend on, they will not be able to get a proper education because they can't afford and they are still too young to work. So, I have work for their sake."

Isabelle asked "Where are they?"

Eliza replied "they all live at an orphanage down the street. And orphanages don't have enough funding for everyone to study, so I contribute what I can."

Isabelle replied "well you don't have to worry about that from now. I will take care of them from here."

Eliza didn't believe what she was hearing and started crying.

Tears began to fall from her eyes, she fell to her knees and started thanking Isabelle for how much she has done, now she doesn't have to worry about the children at the orphanage.

Isabelle grabbed her and asked her to stop crying and apologise to her since it was the duty of the royal family to take care of their people but they were not able to do so properly.

She kept on crying for a while.

Then she calmed down after some time.

Eliza once again thanked her for the kindness she has shown to her.

Chaleo asked "How did you get into the academy in the 4th stage directly?"

Eliza replied "To be honest, I also don't know how."

Isabelle asked Eliza to elaborate.

Eliza replies "There I met Miss Gracia Zenith and Head of the Academy in a restaurant where I was working as a waitress. I was assigned to take care of them by the owner."

Jayden intervenes "Oh so you met them in the restaurant, what happens next."

Eliza continues her story "At that time I didn`t know who they were and treated them nicely like how I treated every other customer. Then suddenly the Headmaster asked me "Little girl, you have a very good aptitude for magic, why are you working here." Then I told them about the orphanage`s children. Then he gave me an offer "If you are willing to study at my Academy then I am willing to look after the children for you."

It was a once in a lifetime offer for me, because with his help the children at the orphanage will not have to worry about their future.

After a while Eliza asked them to leave because it is going to be dark soon and it is not safe to be in these parts of the city during night.

Everyone agrees with what Eliza said and followed her advice.

They all left saying they will meet in the academy later tomorrow.

Now the house becomes quiet once more and Eliza is left all alone.

Eliza heads back inside the house and prepares to make some tea.

While she was making the tea, she thought about what happened today back at the academy.

She talks to herself "Today has been a tiring day."

She turned around to look for some clothes as it is nearly night, she should be preparing to head to sleep.

She found a pair of night suits. It was not too good as it is quite shabby but what can she do about it? She had to make do with what she could afford.

Soon the moon light covered the whole sky, it was a very pleasant looking moon, its bright white light shining upon the city, lightning every corner of the city.

It might be the prettiest moon she has ever seen in her whole life till today.

Then she heard some sound coming from the dark alleyway.

Tap tap Tap Tap Tap Tak.

It sounded like the footstep.

Eliza suddenly gets up and opens the door as if to make way for someone to enter the house.

It is indeed the case. A person was standing at her door.

She politely welcomes that person into the house and apologises at the same time for the house being small.

The person replied "Do not worry about the small details like this."
